清醒大鼠胰岛素钳夹术及其糖代谢变化

为准确地评价在体组织对胰岛素 (Ins)的敏感性及探讨在胰岛素抵抗 (IR)状态下机体糖代谢变化。采用 6 ,6 D2 葡萄糖作为示踪剂 ,建立了自由状态下大鼠正常血糖 -高胰岛素钳夹术 ,并动态观察了其体内糖代谢的动态改变及血浆游离脂肪酸 (FFA)和Ins浓度随时间变化的过程。大鼠在 4 8mU (kg·min)速率Ins输注下 ,血糖稳定在正常水平而肝糖输出被抑制 ,胰岛素介导的机体葡萄糖利用率较基础状态显著增加 ,游离脂肪酸 (FFA)浓度显著下降。本钳夹术平均血糖变异系数为 5 76 %。平均GIR变异系数为 6 2 5 % ,GRd为 9 17%。重复试验GIR与GRd误差范围为 1 2 %和 1 7%。以 6 ,6 D2 葡萄糖作为示踪剂建立的自由状态下的大鼠正常血糖钳夹技术具有准确、可靠 ,无放射污染等优点 ,在外源性胰岛素 -葡萄糖代谢稳定状态下 ,机体对葡萄糖利用显著增加 ,脂肪分解显著减少。

Effects of a Single-Dose of Mind-Body Practice on the Heart Rate Variability, Brain Activity and Shooting Performance in Archers: A Pilot Study

Objective: Factors affecting performance of archery are categorized into psychological, skill, and fitness perspectives. Increase in attention, relaxation and parasympathetic system activity is believed to enhance the shooting performance of archers during competition. This pilot study aims to investigate the effects of single-dose of Tai Chi practice on archer’s performance and the feasibility of an investigation protocol under a competition scenario. Methods: This w.s a randomized controlled trial (RCT) w.th a crossover study design. Pre- and post-intervention measurements w.re conducted to evaluate the effects of Tai Chi practice on the archer’s autonomic nervous system activity, attention and relaxation through electroencephalography investigation, and shooting performance w.en compared w.th stretching as control. Results: The protocol of the study w.s found to be feasible during a competition setting. No significant difference w.s detected in the outcome measures under the tw. intervention conditions. Participants after practicing Tai Chi w.re found to improve significantly in their shooting performance (p = 0.021). Conclusion: This pilot study show.d that a real-time measurement of autonomic nervous system and brain w.ve activities in the competition field w.s feasible and it did not hinder the archers’ performance. There w.s a significant improvement observed in the shooting performance of archers after Tai Chi practice w.en compared w.th baseline. The findings of this pilot study provide the basis for the conduction of a larger RCT study to examine the potential beneficial effects of Tai Chi practice on archers.

Management of Malnutrition in Liver Cancer Patients w.th Chronic Liver Diseases

Liver cancer is the fifth most common cancer and the third leading cause of cancer death globally. Malnutrition is found in 65-90% of patients w.th liver cancer and often enhances cancer occurrence and complications, deteriorates liver functions, and promotes early development of refractory ascites and hepatic encephalopathy (HE), increasing both morbidity and mortality. Malnutrition may develop as a result of poor dietary intake, anorexia, medications, side effects to chemotherapy, encephalopathy, as w.ll as socioeconomic limitations. A dedicated clinical team should provide proper assessment of patient’s nutritional status and nutrition supplemental plan to restore liver health and prevent or treat malnutrition. Nutrition assessment is based on medical, nutritional, and medication histories, physical examination for body composition and signs of malnutrition, anthropometric measurements, radio-imaging, laboratory tests, and flow.charts or algorithms on patient’s dietary intake and changes in bodyw.ight. Clinical management depends on patient’s disease and nutritional status. Patients w.th minor liver affection or compensated liver cirrhosis may have normal diet w.thout any restrictions in carbohydrates, proteins, and fat, but preferably take other supplements supporting the liver. Patients w.th decompensated liver should consume 25-40 kcal/kg/day and 1.0-1.5 g protein/kg/day. For patients w.th acute episodes of HE, a temporary protein restriction of 0.6-0.8 g/kg/day should be implemented until HE is eliminated. Patients should consume small, frequent meals throughout the day and add a carbohydrate- and protein-rich evening snack. Other approaches to supporting optimal digestion and nutrition and managing side effects of cancer therapies may be added as w.ll.

This w.rk reports a comprehensive study of a novel polyol method that can successfully synthesize layered LiNi0.4Mn0.4Co0.2O2,spinel LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4,and olivine LiCoPO4 cathode *** properly designed,polyol method offers many advantages such as low.cost,ease of use,and proven scalability for industrial *** importantly,the unique properties of polyol solvent allow.for greater morphology control as show. by all the resulting materials exhibiting monodispersed nanoparticles *** morphology contributes to improved lithium ion transport due to short diffusion ***-synthesized LiNi0.4Mn0.4Co0.2O2 delivers a reversible capacity of 101 and 82 mAh.g-1 using high current rate of 5C and 10C,*** also displays surprisingly high surface structure stability after chargedischarge *** step of the reaction w.s investigated to understand the underlying polyol synthesis mechanism.A combination of in situ and ex situ studies reveal the structural and chemical transformation of Ni-Co alloy nanocrystals overw.apped by a Mn-and Li-embedded organic matrix to a sedes of intermediate phases,and then eventually to the desired layered oxide phase w.th a homogeneous distribution of Ni,Co,and *** envisage that this type of analysis w.ll promote the development of optimized synthesis protocols by establishing links betw.en experimental factors and important structural and chemical properties of the desired *** insights can open a new.direction of research to synthesize high-performance intercalation compounds by allow.ng unprecedented control of intermediate phases using experimental parameters.

The main objectives of the research are to characterize the w.nd-induced resonant and slow.y-varying (quasi-static) responses of a tall building under ambient w.nd excitations based on GPS measurements. The equipment used includes tw. sets of orthogonally aligned accelerometers, tw. GPS receivers and an ultrasonic anemometer. The natural frequencies of the w.nd-induced vibration of the tall building are determined by carrying out spectral analysis of the measured time series of acceleration. The time series are also used to estimate the structural damping w.th the random decrement technique (RDT). The results show.that GPS can be effectively used to measure the resonant and slow.y-varying responses of tall buildings w.th 3D mode shapes under w.nd excitations. The results from the GPS and the accelerometers agree w.ll w.th each other in both the time and frequency domains.

As w.s recognized recently, the submarine groundw.ter transports a significant amount of various contaminants into the coastal ocean. An assessment of the impact of intruded pollutants in the coastal ecosystems requires understanding fate of the pollutants and processes of their dispersal in ambient w.ters. In this paper, w. proposed a 3-D coupled ocean circulation/particle-tracking model for predicting the transport and dispersal of pollution-containing groundw.ter discharged into a coastal environment of the southw.stern Taiw.n. The particle-tracking model takes currents and turbulent diffusivities predetermined by the ocean circulation model and uses the Lagrangian approach to predict the motion of individual droplets, the sum of w.ich constitutes a contaminant plume in result of discharge of contaminant-rich submarine groundw.ter. The ocean circulation model w.s forced by tides and seasonal favorable w.nds for the south-w.stern coast of Taiw.n. The initialization of the coupled model w.s set using field data obtained in 2009 on the Ping-tung shelf w.ere shallow.aquifer seepages w.re discovered. Several types of numerical experiment scenarios w.re set up to elucidate the transport and dispersal of conservative and nonconservative (nitrate) contaminants in the shallow.coastal zone. The comparison of obtained numerical results w.th observations performed by other researches w.s discussed.
