Perinatal morbidity and early neonatal mortality in twin pregnancies

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of maternal, fetal and obstetric parameters in twin pregnancies due to chorionicity, perinatal morbidity and early neonatal mortality. Methods: Early neonatal outcome parameters were retrospectively analysed in 240 twin pregnancies (51 monochorionic [MC], 189 dichorionic [DC] twins) over a 7.5 years period. Beside chorionicity, we focused on risk factors affecting perinatal morbidity and early neonatal outcome in the overall study cohort and subgroups 1) late preterm and 2) pregnancies conceived by artificial fertilization (IVF/ICSI). Mixed effects logistic regression models were used for multivariate risk analyses. Results: MC vs DC pregnancies showed significantly lower birth weights (p 25% and amniotic inflammation (amniotic infection syndrome [AIS]). A gestational age >36 completed weeks was accompanied by a decrease of early neonatal complications

取自4口含烃井的岩样已作了磷灰石裂变径迹分析(AFTA)并籍以研究Taranaki盆地(新西兰)南部的热史、构造史和油气远景。其中3口井(1Fresne、1North Tasman、1surville)的数据表明,其地层在过去的深埋过程中基本上处于较高的温度条件下。冷却过程主要是由晚中新世的抬升和剥蚀引起的(1Fresne井的剖面剥蚀3.0±0.3km,1Surville井小于等于2.0±0.5km,1North Tasman井为1.0±0.3km)。第四口井,即1Kupe井中的地层,目前正处于自沉积以来的最高温度下。 AFTA提供了关于烃类和圈闭相对形成时间的唯一约束因素。1Fresne井的生油岩早在潜在圈闭构造形成之前于中中新世时期穿过生油窗(100—150℃)并进入生气带(150—220℃)。1North Tasman井中的那些生油岩大约是在同样的时间进入生油带的,而1Surville井的生油岩可能从未加热到足以生成油的程度。AFTA表明1Kupe井所在的区域尚有可观的远景,那里油气生成可能发生在圈闭形成之后。

A comparison of sea level pressure(SLP)trends in a subset of seven Coupled Model Intercomparison Project(CMIP)phase 5 general circulation models(GCM),namely decadal simulations with CCSM4,CanCM4,MPI-ESM-LR,FGOALS-g2,MIROC4h,MIROC5,and MRICGCM3,to their CMIP3 counterparts reveals an unrealistically strong forecast skill in CMIP3 models for trend predictions for 2001e2011 when using the 1979e2000 period to train the ***-winter SLP trends over five high-,mid-,and low-latitude zones were calculated over the 1979e2000 initialization period for each ensemble member and then ranked based on their performance relative to HadSLP2 *** same method is used to rank the ensemble members during the 2001e2011 *** CMIP3,17 out of 38 ensemble members retain their rank in the 2001e2011 hindcast period and 3 retain the neighboring ***,numbers are much lower in more recent CMIP5 decadal predictions over the similar 2001e2010 period when using the 1981e2000 period as initialization with the same number of *** periods were used for CMIP3 and CMIP5 because although the 1979e2000 initialization is widely used for CMIP3,CMIP5 decadal predictions are only available for 30-year *** conclusion to consider the forecast skill in CMIP3 predictions during 2001e2011 as unrealistic is corroborated by comparisons to earlier periods from the 1960s to the 1980s in both CMIP3 and CMIP5 ***,although the 2001e2011 CMIP3 predictions show statistically significant forecast skill,this skill should be treated as a spurious result that is unlikely to be reproduced by newer more accurate GCMs.

An attempt has been made at unifying the resulting quadratic models from the study of the correlation behavior of the inhibition characteristics of acidified ocimum basilicum on conventional mild steel. Weight-loss corrosion technique was employed in obtaining the corrosion penetration rate using the equation: cpr = . Subsequently, the quadratic models were developed by using a computer-aided statistical modeling technique (International Business Machine (IBM)’s SPSS version 17.0). The results obtained showed a nearly perfect positive correlation with a correlation coefficient in the range of 0.986 ≤ R ≤ 0.996 which depicts that R ≥ 1. Also, the coefficient of determination fell within the range of 0.972 ≤ R2 ≤ 0.992 showing that approximately 97% to 99% of the total variation in passivation rate was accounted for by corresponding variation in exposure time, leaving out only between 3% and 1% to extraneous factors that are not incorporated into the model equations. The equations were further unified into a generalized form using MathCAD 7.0 and the resulting equation was y = 1.032 - 0.002t + 1.899?× 10-6t2 with a R2 value of 0.935 indicating a well-correlated relationship. With this, a new frontier on corrosion studies has emerged typifying a classical departure from previously long-held assumption that corrosion behaviours at room temperature were only logarithmic.

Systemic mastocytosis (SM) is a rare disease with abnormal proliferation and infiltration of mast cells in the skin, bone marrow, and viscera including the mucosal surfaces of the digestive tract. Gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms occur in 14%-85% of patients with systemic mastocytosis. The GI symptoms may be as frequent as the better known pruritis, urticaria pigmentosa, and flushing. In fact most recent studies show that the GI symptoms are especially important clinically due to the severity and chronicity of the effects that they produce. GI symptoms may include abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and bloating. A case of predominantly GI systemic mastocytosis with unique endoscopic images and pathologic confirmation is herein presented, as well as a current review of the GI manifestations of this disease including endoscopic appearances. Issues such as treatment and prognosis will not be discussed for the purposes of this paper.
