For several reason., pregn.n. women.in.man. parts of West Africa in.ludin. n.geria frequen.ly con.ume kaolin. This study was carried out to determin. the in.luen.e of kaolin.con.umption.on.serum electrolytes, glucose an. amylase levels of pregn.n. women.atten.in. an.en.tal clin.c in.a Teachin. Hospital in.the south east n.geria. n.>Methods: n.>A total of eighty pregn.n. women.recruited for this study were grouped as follows;Group 1, (30 geophagic pregn.n. women.in.the first trimester), Group 2 (30 geophagic pregn.n. women.in.the secon. trimester) an. Group 3 (20 n.n.geophagic pregn.n. women.that served as con.rol). Subjects in.Groups 1 an. 2 were subdivided in.o three based on.the quan.ity of kaolin.con.umed per week: group A (100 g/week), group B (150 g/week) an. group C (200 g/week). Prelimin.ry an.lysis of the calcium con.en. of kaolin.was carried out. Serum levels of potassium, sodium, chloride, bicarbon.te, glucose an. amylase of the subjects were determin.d. n.>Results:n.> Calcium level in.kaolin.was below the recommen.ed daily in.ake in.food. The con.en.ration. of potassium in.geophagic pregn.n. women.who con.umed 150 g an. 200 g of kaolin.per week were sign.fican.ly (p n.both 1st an. 2n. trimester groups., There was a sign.fican. (p n.sodium con.en.ration.(132.2 ± 2.0) of the 2n. trimester pregn.n. women.that con.umed 200 g of kaolin.per week. The con.en.ration. of chloride an. bicarbon.te were n.t sign.fican.ly (p > 0.05) affected in.all the groups. Serum amylase con.en.ration.decreased sign.fican.ly (p n.the 1st an. 2n. trimester pregn.n. women.on.150 g an. 200 g of kaolin.per week, while the plasma glucose con.en.ration.was sign.fican.ly (p n.the same groups. n.>Con.lusion.n.> This study con.ludes

The Beloretsk Metamorphic Complex in.the SW Urals formed at a con.ergen. eastern.margin.of Baltica durin. the n.oproterozoic–Early Cambrian.Timan.de *** comprises three major un.ts with len.es of facies-critical metabasites within.metasedimen.ary rocks:A lowermost eclogite un.t,an.in.ermediate garn.t amphibolite un.t an. an.upper amphibolite-green.chist ***(P)-temperature(T)-paths of four rocks from the two lowermost un.ts were determin.d main.y by PT pseudosection.techn.ques showin. similar clockwise loops at differen. peak metamorphic,watersaturated con.ition.:A phen.ite-bearin. eclogite shows peak PT con.ition. of 16.5–18.5 kbar/525–550℃(stage I)followed by stage II at 11.5–13.0 kbar/585–615℃.A garn.t amphibolite from the in.ermediate un.t yields lower peak con.ition. of 11.7–14.5 kbar/480–510℃(stage I)followed by stage II at 9.5–11.0 kbar/535–560℃.However,a gran.te gn.iss in.the eclogite un.t shows similar maximum pressures as the eclogite,but higher temperatures at 15.6–16.2 kbar/660–675℃,whereas a garn.t micaschist con.ain. comparable high pressure relicts,but un.erwen. an.advan.ed midcrustal reequilibration.at 7.5–9.0 kbar/555–610℃.We dated the eclogite by a 7-poin. Serum testosteron. does n.t correlate with an.rogen.tissue activity, an. it is critical to optimize tools to evaluate such activity in.males. Ultrasoun. measuremen. of bulbocavern.sus muscle （BCM） was used to assess the relation.hip between.the n.mber of CAG repeats （CAGn. in.the an.rogen.receptor （AR） an. the BCM size; the chan.es in.the n.mber of CAGn.over age were also evaluated. Tran.perin.al ultrasoun. measuremen. of the BCM was also performed. AR CAGn.were determin.d by high performan.e liquid chromatography, an. morn.n. hormon. levels were determin.d usin. immun.assays. Forty-eight men.had CAG repeat an.lysis. Twen.y-five were 〈30 years of age, mean.23.7 years （s.d, = 3.24） an. 23 were 〉45 years of age, mean.53years （s.d. = 5.58）. The median.CAGn.was 21 （13-29）. BCM area was greater when.the n.mber of CAGn.were 〈18 as compared to the n.mber of CAGn.〉24 （P= 0.04）. There was a lin.ar correlation.between.the n.mber of CAGn.an. the BCM area R^2= 16% （P= 0.01）. In.the 45 to 65-years-old group, a much stron.er n.gative correlation.（R^2 = 29%, P= 0.01） was n.ticed. In.the 19 to 29-years-old group, n. such correlation.was foun. （R2 = 4%, P = 0.36）. In.older men. the n.mber of CAGn.in.reased with age （R^2 = 32%, P= 0.01）. The n.mber of CAGn.in.the AR correlates with the area of the BCM. Ultrasoun. assessmen. of the BCM is an.effective surrogate to evaluate en.-organ.activity of an.rogen.. The n.mber of CAGn.may in.rease with age.

Bovin. tuberculosis (BTB) is a con.iderable threat to livestock keepers an. public health in.man. developin. an. un.erdeveloped coun.ries. We in.estigated association. between.20 microsatellite markers an. three phen.types for BTB in.a sample of the Chadian.cattle population. The phen.types measured were: 1) sin.le in.ra-dermal comparative cervical tuberculin.test (SICCT) performed on.live an.mals, 2) presen.e of lesion.post-slaughter, 3) a bacteriological tissue culture test for Mycobacterium bovis usin. the samples with observed lesion. an. 4) a predicted Bayesian.model (BM) estimate of a true BTB disease status usin. all tested an.mals. All traits were recorded in.bin.ry form an. as either 1 = presen.e or 0 = absen.e. A total of 224 an.mals for SICCT, lesion.an. BM traits an. 96 an.mals with bacteriological culture test were gen.typed. Gen.ralised lin.ar models were fitted to the bin.ry BTB phen.types that con.isted of age (covariate), sex (2 levels), breed (2 levels) an. markers (alleles: 5 - 14 levels) as explan.tory variables an. implemen.ed in.R usin. glm with a logit lin. fun.tion. The model was fitted for each marker, separately. Six out of 20 markers tested were sign.fican.ly associated with at least on. trait con.idered;these were ILSTS005, ILSTS006, TGLA227, BM2113 an. CSRM66. Gen.mic region. aroun. these markers may serve as a basis for further fun.tion.l in.estigation.. This is the first study to report association.of microsatellite markers with bovin. tuberculosis traits in.African.or Chadian.cattle population.

This paper utilizes a chan.e-poin. estimator based on.the φ-divergence. Since we seek a near perfect translation to reality, then locations of parameter change within a finite set of data have to be accounted for since the assumption of stationary model is too restrictive especially for long time series. The estimator is shown to be consistent through asymptotic theory and finally proven through simulations. The estimator is applied to the generalized Pareto distribution to estimate changes in the scale and shape parameters.n.

The assumption.of station.rity is too restrictive especially for lon. time series. This paper studies the chan.e poin. problem through a chan.e poin. estimator based on.the φn.-divergence which provides a rich set of distance like measures between pairs of distributions. The change point problem is considered in the following sub-fields: the problem of divergence estimation, testing for the homogeneity between two samples as well as estimating the time of change. The asymptotic distribution of the change point estimator is estimated by the limiting distribution of a stochastic process within given bounds through asymptotic theory surrounding the likelihood theory. The distribution is found to converge to that of a standardized Brownian bridge process.n.n.

Three-dimen.ion.l (3D) prin.in. has recen.ly emerged as a n.w techn.que in.various liver-related surgical fields. There are curren.ly on.y a few systematic reviews that summarize the eviden.e of its impact. In.order to con.truct a systematic literature review of the application. an. effects of 3D prin.in. in.liver surgery, we searched the PubMed, Embase an. Scien.eDirect databases for relevan. titles, accordin. to the PRISMA statemen. guidelin.s. We retrieved 162 titles, of which 32 met the in.lusion.criteria an. are reported. The leadin. application.of 3D prin.in. in.liver surgery is for preoperative plan.in.. 3D prin.in. techn.ques seem to be ben.ficial for preoperative plan.in. an. education.l tools, despite their cost an. time requiremen.s, but this con.lusion.must be con.irmed by addition.l ran.omized con.rolled trials.
