Thermal analysis is essential for the characterization of polymers and ***,the currently established methods require a large amount of ***,we present pyrolytic carbon resonators as promising tools for micromechanical thermal analysis(MTA)of nanograms of *** clamped pre-stressed beams with a resonance frequency of 233±4 kHz and a quality factor(Q factor)of 800±200 were *** of the electrical conductivity of the pyrolytic carbon allowed us to explore resistive heating for integrated temperature *** was achieved by monitoring the resonance frequency and quality factor of the carbon resonators with and without a deposited sample as a function of *** prove the potential of pyrolytic carbon resonators as thermal analysis tools,the glass transition temperature(T_(g))of semicrystalline poly(L-lactic acid)(PLLA)and the melting temperature(T_(m))of poly(caprolactone)(PCL)were *** results show that the T_(g) of PLLA and T_(m) of PCL are 61.0±0.8℃ and 60.0±1.0℃,respectively,which are in excellent agreement with the values measured by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).

Recent studies have demonstrated that postponed weaning age from 6 weeks to 8 weeks in mink increases the number of bites among mink kits. Therefore, a series of studies have been conducted in order to quantify effects of weaning age on mortality, number of bites and growth rates in mink kits weaned at 42 and 56 days after birth during two consecutive breeding seasons. Partial weaning of large litters on Day 42 reduced the number of mink kits and litters with bites from an average frequency of 1.6% to 1.0% for kits and 8.1% to 5.1% for litters and increased growth rate of male kits. These results are highly important for ensuring optimal welfare in mink production, and we recommend that partial weaning (dividing) of large litters should be considered in practical mink farming in the future.

BACKGROUND Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has a major influence on all parts of *** To examine the consequences of the national lockdown and political initiatives during the first surge of the COVID-19 pandemic expressed by changes in incidences of musculoskeletal paediatric *** Study design was a retrospective multicenter cohort study.A‘pandemic’cohort was established from 16 March 2020 to 21 April 2020,where all institutions including day care and schools were closed.A‘pre-pandemic’cohort was established from the same period in 2019 for *** were all patients admitted at the emergency departments with paediatric musculoskeletal injuries(aged 0-15 years)identified by a relevant musculoskeletal ICD-10 diagnosis(DSxxx),concussions(DZ033D),or burns(DT2xx).RESULTS The‘pre-pandemic’cohort consisted of 2101 patients,and the‘pandemic’cohort consisted of 1070 patients,indicating a decrease of paediatric musculoskeletal injuries of 51%.The incidence of paediatric injury in the‘pre-pandemic’cohort was 10460/100000/*** the‘pandemic’cohort,the incidence was 5344/100000/*** A resource re-allocation to help serve the COVID-19 patients might be possible without reducing the level of care for injury-related paediatric patients.

Background:The role of associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy(ALPPS)in comparison to portal vein embolization(PVE)is *** aim of this study was to compare successful resection rates(RR)with upfront ALPPS *** with rescue ALPPS on demand and to compare the hypertrophy of the liver between ALPPS and PVE plus subsequent rescue ***:A retrospective analysis of all patients treated with PVE for colorectal liver metastasis(CRLM)or ALPPS(any diagnosis,rescue ALPPS included)at five Scandinavian university hospitals during the years 2013-2016 was conducted.A Chi-square test and a Mann-Whitney U test were used to assess the difference between the groups.A successful RR was defined as liver resection without a 90-day ***:A total of 189 patients were *** RR was in 84.5%of the patients with ALPPS upfront and in 73.3%of the patients with PVE and rescue ALPPS on demand(P=0.080).The hypertrophy of the future liver remnants(FLRs)with ALPPS upfront was 71%(48-97%)compared to 96%(82-113%)after PVE and rescue ALPPS(P=0.010).Conclusions:Upfront ALPPS offers a somewhat higher successful RR than PVE with rescue ALPPS on *** sequential combination of PVE and ALPPS leads to a higher overall degree of hypertrophy than upfront ALPPS.

目的应用酵母双杂交技术研究与增生性瘢痕相关新候选蛋白P311发生相互作用的蛋白。方法应用酵母双杂交系统,以人P311为诱饵,筛选成人肝cDNA文库,寻找能与之相互作用的阳性克隆。以回复性杂交试验排除假阳性,并对阳性克隆进行序列测定和生物信息学分析。结果经过酵母双杂交共获得355个克隆,经过测序和验证,最终确认8个克隆基因。结论获得的8个基因编码的蛋白可能与P311的作用过程有关。

Changes in various metabolic parameters in blood and milk during experimental Escherichia coli mastitis for primiparous Holstein dairy cows during early lactation

Background： The objective of this study was to characterize the changes in various metabolic parameters in blood and milk during IMI challenge with Escherichia coli （E. coh. for dairy cows during early lactation. Thirty, healthy primiparous Holstein cows were infused （h = 0） with -20-40 cfu of live E. coil into one front mammary quarter at -4-6 wk in lactation. Daily feed intake and milk yield were recorded. At -12, 0, 3, 6, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 96, 108, 120, 132, 144, 156, 168, 180 and 192 h relative to challenge rectal temperatures were recorded and quarter foremilk was collected for analysis of shedding of E. coil Composite milk samples were collected at -180, -132, -84, -36, -12, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, 96, 132 and 180 h relative to challenge （h=0） and analyzed for lactate dehydrogenase （LDH）, somatic cell count, fat, protein, lactose, citrate, beta-hydroxybutyrate （BHBA）, free glucose （fglu）, and glucose-6-phosphate （G6P）. Blood was collected at -12, 0, 3, 6, 12, 18, 24, 36, 60, 72, 84, 132 and 180 h relative to challenge and analyzed for plasma non-esterified fatty acids （NEFA）, BHBA and glucose concentration. A generalized linear mixed model was used to determine the effect of IMI challenge on metabolic responses of cows during early lactation. Results： By 12 h, E. coli was recovered from challenged quarters and shedding continued through 72 h. Rectal temperature peaked by 12 h post-challenge and returned to pre-challenge values by 36 h post-IMI challenge. Daily feed intake and milk yield decreased （P 〈0.05） by 1 and 2 d, respectively, after mastitis challenge. Plasma BHBA decreased （12 h, P 〈0.05） from 0.96± 1.1 at 0 h to 0.57±0.64 mmol/L by ]8 h whereas concentration of plasma NEFA （78 h） and glucose （24 h） were significantly greater, 11 and 27%, respectively, after challenge. In milk fglu, lactose, citrate, fat and protein yield were lower whereas yield of BHBA and G6P were higher after challenge when compared to pre-challenge values. Conclusion

Additive manufacturing of prototype elements with process interfaces for continuously operating manufacturing lines

Rapid prototyping based on in silico design and 3D printing enables fast customization of complex geometries to multiple needs. This study utilizes, additive manufacturing for rapid prototyping of elements for continuously operating mixing geometries including interfaces with process analytical technology(PAT) tools, to show that 3D printing can be used for prototyping of both parts of production line and PAT interfacing solution. An additional setup was designed for measuring the dynamic calibration samples for a semi-quantitative near infrared(NIR) spectroscopic model. The powder was filled in a small calibration chamber and in-line NIR spectra of calibration samples were collected from moving material while mimicking the powder flow dynamics in a typical continuous mixer. This dynamic powder mixing system was compared with a static powder calibration model where the NIR probe was placed at different positions on a static sample. Principal component analysis(PCA) revealed that the 3D printed device with dynamic measurement of the NIR spectra had more potential for quantitative analysis. With the prototype continuous mixer, two differently placed process interfaces for NIR spectroscopic monitoring of the powder mixing were evaluated. With this approach, the importance of positioning the process analytical tools to assess the blend uniformity could be demonstrated. It was also observed that with the longer mixing geometry, a better mixing result was achieved due to a larger hold up volume and increased residence time.

AIM:To investigate the neuroprotective potential of ciclosporin during acute liver failure. We evaluated the effect of intrathecally administered ciclosporin on intracranial pressure, brain water content and aquaporin-4 expression in a rat model with acute ***:Twenty-four male Wistar rats with portacaval anastomosis were randomised into four groups receiving ciclosporin or vehicle and ammonia or saline infusion. Ciclosporin or vehicle was given intrathecally prior to the ammonia or saline infusion. The ammonia or saline infusion was given intravenously for 4 h,while intracranial pressure and arterial pressure was recorded. At the end of the experiment, cerebral cortex and cerebellar brain tissue was analysed for water and aquaporin-4 ***:The following intracranial pressures were found at the end of the experiment:ammonia + ciclosporin:10.0±1.7 mmHg, ammonia + vehicle:6.8±1.0mmHg, saline + ciclosporin:3.1±0.5 mmHg, saline +vehicle:3.3 ± 0.6 mmHg. Ammonia infusion had a significant effect on intracranial pressure and brain water content, which both were higher in the groups receiving ammonia(P0.2 micromolar)but did not reduce intracranial pressure after 4 h. Furthermore, ciclosporin did not attenuate the increase in cerebral water content, and did not affect ***:Intrathecal administration of ciclosporin does not attenuate intracranial hypertension or brain oedema in rats with portacaval anastomosis and 4 h of ammonia infusion.
