Objective The purpose of this study was to assess knowledge of and barriers to osteopathic medicine in Chinese immigrant communities in New York City(NYC).Design A cross-sectional study was designed in which a culturally appropriate survey in Chinese and English versions was administered anonymously to measure immigrant perceptions and knowledge of osteopathic *** Data collection occurred in the municipal delineations for the Chinatown neighbourhood within the New York,New York borough of *** Community members were selected using convenience sampling from high-density areas to *** gathered from the survey included demographics,education level,healthcare habits and knowledge of the osteopathic *** 120 surveys were conducted with 68 males and 52 females,with an average age=*** in the age range of 18-29 years,those with fluent English-language proficiency,and participants with graduate-level education status demonstrated a higher proportion of knowledge of osteopathic manipulative medicine and osteopathic physicians(doctors of osteopathic medicine)among the study *** Compared with research on the general US population,a general lack of knowledge of osteopathic medicine exists within NYC’s Chinese immigrant *** this difference may be ascribed to linguistics and ethnosociological factors,greater outreach and education is needed in urban minority communities to make immigrants aware of all healthcare resources available during the current shortage of US primary care physicians.

Deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the subthalamic nucleus (STN) is a welle-stablished therapy for patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD) presenting with medication refractory tremors, motor fluctuations and dyskinesias induced by dopaminergic medications [1]. However,traditional high-frequency stimulation(HFS) does not effectively control axial symptoms such as gait dysfunction,postural instability and freezing of gait(FOG)[2,3].

Factors Affecting the Outlook for Medium-term to Long-term Growth in China

China achieved average GDP growth of nearly 10 percent over the period 1978-2015. However, how long can such high levels of growth be sustained, especially when per capita GDP levels have reached middle-income status, and the normal tendency of economies is to slow down as they mature？ This paper reviews the recent literature on the determinants and outlook for real GDP growth in China and addresses some of the key issues, including identifying supply-side factors that can support continued strong growth under favorable conditions, as well as risk factors that might cause growth to fall short. The paper reviews supply-side determinants of growth using a growth accounting framework, and also assesses major demand-side factors driving potential growth, including exports, capital formation and household consumption.

Enemy release at range edges:do invasive species escape their herbivores as they expand into new areas?

Surface ozone(O3)is a secondary pollutant harmful to human health and a greenhouse gas which is one of the prime climate *** to the clean atmospheric environment of the Antarctic region and given the complexity of O3 chemistry,the observation of surface O3 variability in this region is necessary in the quest to better understand the potential sources and sink of polar surface *** this paper,we highlighted our observations on O3 variability at the Great Wall Station(GWS)during austral summer in December 2018 and January *** continuous surface O3 measurement at the GWS,Antarctica was carried out using the Ecotech Ozone *** understand the roles of the meteorological conditions on the temporal variations of O3,meteorological data was obtained from the conventional auto-observational station at the *** Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory(HYSPLIT)model was employed to investigate the air mass transport over the *** observed austral summer surface O3 concentrations at the GWS exhibited variability and were significantly lower than those previously observed at other permanent coastal stations in *** surface ozone variability at the GWS was strongly influenced by the synoptic change of air mass origin although the roles of photochemistry production and destruction were still *** characteristics and stable surface O3 characterized the air masses that reached the *** unique characteristic of surface O3 at the coastal site of GWS was emphasized by its synoptic air mass characteristics,which displayed a significant influence on surface O3 *** mass that traveled over the ocean with relatively shorter distance was linked to the lower O3 level,whereby the marine transport of reactive bromine(Br)species was thought to play a significant role in the tropospheric chemistry that leads to O3 ***,the diurnal variation indicated that the O3 background concentration levels were n

A comparative study of dust control practices in Chinese and Australian longwall coal mines

Mine dust is one of the main hazards in underground longwall mines *** order to solve the mine dust problem,a significant number of studies have been carried out regarding longwall mine dust control,both in China and *** paper presents a comparative study of dust control practices in Chinese and Australian longwall mines,with particular references to statutory limits,dust monitoring methods and dust management practices,followed by a brief discussion on the research status of longwall mine dust control in both *** study shows that water infusion,face ventilation controls,water sprays,and deep and wet cutting in longwall shearer operations are commonly practiced in almost all underground longwall mines and that both Chinese and Australian longwall mine dust control practices have their own advantages and *** is concluded that there is a need for further development and innovative design of more effective dust mitigation products or systems despite the development of various dust control *** on the examinations and discussions,the authors have made some recommendations for further research and development in dust control in longwall *** is hoped that this comparative study will provide beneficial guidance for scholars and engineers who are engaging in longwall mine dust control research and practice.

Synthesis and characterization of hierarchical nanoporous HY zeolites from acid-activated kaolin

Hierarchical nanoporous HY zeolites were synthesized from acid-activated kaolin. The hierarchical factor （HF） was maximized by varying the aging and crystallization time. This was achieved by maximizing the external surface area without greatly reducing the micropore volume. The resulting products were characterized using X-ray diffraction （XRD）, X-ray fluorescence, N2 adsorption, and NH3 temperature-programmed desorption. The nanoporous HY zeolite with the highest HF was obtained by aging for 48 h and a crystallization time of 24 h. The acidiW and crystallinity varied depending on the operating parameters. Incorporation of an appropriate amount of NaCI was also vital in maximizing the HF, crystallinity, and acidity. The sample crystallinities were determined by comparing their XRD peak intensities with those of a conventional Y zeolite. The results show that optimizing this process could lead to a widely acceptable commercial route for FIY zeolite production.
