Enhanced tensile properties of a reversion annealed 6.5Mn-TRIP alloy via tailoring initial microstructure and cold rolling reduction

The feasibility of improving the overall performance of medium Mn steels was demonstrated via tailoring the initial microstructure and cold rolling reduction. The combined effects of cooling patterns after hot rolling （HR） and cold rolling （CR） reductions show：（1） as the cooling pattern varied from furnace cooling （FC） to oil quenching （OQ）, the intercritically annealed microstructure was dramatically refined and the fraction of recrystallized ferrite dropped, regardless of CR reductions. This resulted in both high yield/ultimate tensile strengths （YS/UTS） but low total elongation to fracture （El）; （2） as the CR reduction increased from 50% to 75%, the OQ-samples after annealing exhibited a more refined microstructure with relatively higher fractions of retained austenite and sub-structure, leading to higher YS and UTS but lower El; whereas the FC samples appeared to exhibit little difference in overall tensile properties in both cases. The differences in microstructural evolution with cooling patterns and CR reductions were explained by the calculated accumulated effective strain （eAES）, which was considered to be related to degrees of recovery and recrystallization of the deformed martensite （α＇）. The optimal tensile properties of -1 GPa YS and -40 GPa.% UTSxEI were achieved in the OQ-50%CR annealed samples at 650 ℃ for 1 h. This was quite beneficial to large-scale production of ultra-high strength steels, owing to its serious springback during heaw cold working.

Sensor fusion-based approach for the field robot localization on Rovitis 4.0 vineyard robot

This study proposed an approach for robot localization using data from multiple low-cost sensors with two goals in mind,to produce accurate localization data and to keep the computation as simple as *** approach used data from wheel odometry,inertial-motion data from the Inertial Motion Unit(IMU),and a location fix from a Real-Time Kinematics Global Positioning System(RTK GPS).Each of the sensors is prone to errors in some situations,resulting in inaccurate *** odometry is affected by errors caused by slipping when turning the robot or putting it on slippery *** IMU produces drifts due to vibrations,and RTK GPS does not return to an accurate fix in(semi-)occluded *** of these sensors is accurate enough to produce a precise reading for a sound localization of the robot in an outdoor *** solve this challenge,sensor fusion was implemented on the robot to prevent possible localization *** worked by selecting the most accurate readings in a given moment to produce a precise pose *** evaluate the approach,two different tests were performed,one with robot localization from the robot operating system(ROS)repository and the other with the presented Field Robot *** first did not perform well,while the second did and was evaluated by comparing the location and orientation estimate with ground truth,captured by a hovering drone above the testing ground,which revealed an average error of 0.005 m±0.220 m in estimating the position,and 0.6°±3.5°when estimating *** tests proved that the developed field robot localization is accurate and robust enough to be used on a ROVITIS 4.0 vineyard robot.

Near-seamless joining of Cf/SiC composites using Y_(3)Si_(2)C_(2)via electric field-assisted sintering technique

A novel Y_(3)Si_(2)C_(2)material was synthesized at a relatively low temperature(900℃)using a molten salt method for the first time,and subsequently used as the joining material for carbon fiber reinforced SiC(Cf/SiC)*** sound near-seamless joints with no obvious remaining interlayer were obtained at 1600℃using an electric field-assisted sintering technique(FAST).during joining,a liquid phase was formed by the eutectic reaction among Y_(3)Si_(2)C_(2),γ(Y–C)phase,and SiC,followed by the precipitation of SiC *** presence of the liquid promoted the sintering of newly formed SiC particles,leading to their complete consolidation with the Cf/SiC *** the other hand,the excess of the liquid was pushed away from the joining area under the effect of a uniaxial pressure of 30 MPa,leading to the formation of the near-seamless *** highest shear strength(Ä)of 17.2±2.9 MPa was obtained after being joined at 1600℃for 10 *** failure of the joints occurred in the Cf/SiC matrix,indicating that the interface was stronger than that of the Cf/SiC *** formation of a near-seamless joint minimizes the mismatch of thermal expansion coefficients and also irradiation-induced swelling,suggesting that the proposed joining strategy can be potentially applied to SiC-based ceramic matrix composites(CMCs)for extreme environmental applications.

Entanglement, the Einstein-Podolsky Rosen （EPR） paradox and Bell＇s failure of local-hidden- variable （LHV） theories are three historically famous forms of ＂quantum nonlocality＂. We give experimental criteria for these three forms of nonlocality in multi-particle systems, with the aim of better understanding the transition from microscopic to macroscopic nonlocality. We examine the nonlocality of N separated spin J systems. First, we obtain multipartite Bell inequalities that address the correlation between spin values measured at each site, and then we review spin squeezing inequal- ities that address the degree of reduction in the variance of collective spins. The latter have been particularly useful as a tool for investigating entanglement in Bose Einstein eondensates （BEC）. We present solutions for two topical quantum states： multi-qubit Greenberger-Horne Zeilinger （GHZ） states, and the ground state of a two-well BEC.

This paper,resents a system called Athlos2,which implements strong access control for athletic events, enhancing the safety feeling of event spectators. Athlos2 integrates intelligent biometric access control systems and smart cards,under a protocol that complies ith the specification of the Liberty Alliance project for federated identities.A pilot version of Athlos2 was deployed and tested in terms of acceptability,information security and performance.

Sequence stratigraphic analysis and hydrocarbon prospectivity of AMO Field,deep offshore Niger delta,Nigeria

An integrated interpretation of processed 3d seismic data,a suite of well logs,biostratigraphic data and core photographs of AMO Field,deep offshore Niger delta,is carried out for the sequence stratigraphic analysis of strata penetrated by *** and key stratigraphic surfaces,that is,the maximum flooding surfaces(MFSs)and sequence boundaries(SBs),are identified based on bioevents and log *** data help the delineation of MFSs and SBs,as well as dating,determination of depositional environment and *** sequence stratigraphic study reveals seven MFSs(of 13.0 Ma,11.0 Ma,9.5 Ma,7.4 Ma,5.8 Ma,5.0 Ma and 2.7 Ma)and six SBs(of 12.1 Ma,10.3 Ma,8.5 Ma,6.3 Ma,5.5 Ma and 4.2 Ma).The key stratigraphic surfaces identified involve three depositional sequences characterized by lowstand,transgressive and highstand system tracts *** studied section is deposited in a deepwater environment ranging from Lower to Upper Bathyal and can be dated back to the Middle Miocene-Middle Pliocene in *** faults and two horizons(corresponding to reservoir units)are identified and mapped across the seismic data volume to establish a continuity of the reservoir to areas lacking well *** established sequence stratigraphic framework displays successions of sediments(system tracts)where the reservoir sand units of the lowstand and highstand system tracts are of hydrocarbon prospective units in the field.

Electrocatalytic hydrogen peroxide formation on mesoporous non-metal nitrogen-doped carbon catalyst

direct electrochemical formation of hydrogen peroxide（H2O2） from pure O2 and H2on cheap metal-free earth abundant catalysts has emerged as the highest atom-efficient and environmentally friendly reaction pathway and is therefore of great interest from an academic and industrial point of view. Very recently,novel metal-free mesoporous nitrogen-doped carbon catalysts have attracted large attention due to the unique reactivity and selectivity for the electrochemical hydrogen peroxide formation [1–3]. In this work,we provide deeper insights into the electrocatalytic activity, selectivity and durability of novel metal-free mesoporous nitrogen-doped carbon catalyst for the peroxide formation with a particular emphasis on the influence of experimental reaction parameters such as p H value and electrode potential for three different electrolytes. We used two independent approaches for the investigation of electrochemical hydrogen peroxide formation, namely rotating ring-disk electrode（RRdE） technique and photometric UV–VIS technique. Our electrochemical and photometric results clearly revealed a considerable peroxide formation activity as well as high catalyst durability for the metal-free nitrogen-doped carbon catalyst material in both acidic as well as neutral medium at the same electrode potential under ambient temperature and pressure. In addition, the obtained electrochemical reactivity and selectivity indicate that the mechanisms for the electrochemical formation and decomposition of peroxide are strongly dependent on the p H value and electrode potential.
