Histological Features of Parotid Gland of Albino Rats Exposed to. Smokeless Tobacco

Smokeless tobacco is very common personal habit of people living in various areas of Asia which is an alarming sign for the development of different oral diseases in such people. The aim of present study was to investigate effects of smokeless tobacco on parofid glands of the Aalbano rats by using various percentages of the smokeless tobacco. The rats were divided into three different groups, control group （A） no smokeless tobacco, experimental group （B） 5% smokeless tobacco and experimental group （C） 10% of smokeless tobacco with different feeds required according parameters. Weekly weight gain and partid gland were analyzed through student P test and histological structures were recorded through HE stain and Retculin stain. The results showed that as compared to control group body, weight of the rats was decreased in groups B and C having smokeless tobacco percentage in the diet. Weight of parotid gland as compared to control group was decreased in groups B and C with diet of smokeless tobacco. Further, histological observation under HE stain showed that parofid gland of group B showed mild narrowing of ductal lumen, collapse of vessels and stromal was also increased, in group C parenchyrnal tissues with loss of acini found damaged and glandular dystrop and lymphatic infiltration were determined moderate to severe. Meanwhile, reticulin stain showed that vascular collapses were shown because of increasing in stromal glandular atrophy in group C as compared to control group. In conclusion, this study showed that smokeless tobacco caused serious injuries in the tissue level in parotid gland with high percentage of smokeless tobacco which highlight health hazards on its consumption.

Effect of Mineral and Vitamin Supplementation on Performance and Haemotological Values in Broilers

A total of 120-day-old broilers were divided into four groups. In group-A, broilers were left without supplementation of minerals and vitamins(control), while the broilers in groups B, C and D were given mineral and vitamin supplementation 1-6, 1-4 and 5-6 weeks, respectively. The results showed that the feed consumption of broilers in groups A, B, C and D was 4 234.61, 4 028.38, 4 169.32 and 4 181.87 g · b-1; water intake was 9 668.88, 9 295.55, 9 882.11 and 9 402.86 L · b-1; live body weight was 2 068.90, 2 360.90, 2 255.30 and 2 157.40 g · b-1, respectively. The feed conversion ratio of broilers in groups A, B, C, D was 2.05, 1.71, 1.85 and 1.94 g · b-1, carcass weight(wt) was 1 550, 1 656, 1 552 and 1 528.8 g · b-1, and average dressing percentage was 61.24, 63.02, 62.60 and 60.51 respectively. Weight of heart in groups A, B, C and D was 15.13, 13.16, 11.72 and 11.50 g · b-1, weight of gizzard was 32.98, 37.48, 37.62 and 33.35 g · b-1, weight of liver was 51.94, 48.70, 51.94 and 48.70 g · b-1 and spleen weight was 3.48, 3.28, 3.06 and 2.82 g · b-1, respectively. Average mortality of broilers in groups A, B, C and D was 6, 2, 4 and 5 resulting 20.00%, 8.00%, 13.00% and 16.00% mortality rate, respectively. The haemoglobin level in blood of broilers in groups A, B, C and D was 9.20, 12.23, 10.87 and 7.60 g · dL-1,white blood cell level 77.47, 89.83, 81.63 and 78.13(×106 μL); red blood cell level 1.85, 2.58, 2.45 and 1.40(×106 μL), respectively. It was concluded that broilers given mineral and vitamin supplementation(Aquavit Electrolyte) for 6 weeks were proven to be most effective regime to result the lowest feed intake, the highest live body weight, better feed conversion ratio, higher carcass weight, better dressing percentage, higher net profit, relatively improved haemoglobin level in blood, increased counts of red blood cells and white blood cells. Bastnaesite((Ce,La,Pr,Nd)CO_(3)F) is a significant light rare earth mineral found in nature,known for its fine-grained *** is commonly employed for the recovery of fine-grained bastnaesite *** serve as an essential flotation reagent that enhance the surface hydrophobicity of target minerals.A novel collector,N-hydroxy-9-octadecenamide(N-OH-9-ODA),was synthesised in this study.N-OH-9-ODA exhibits superior selectivity compared to the traditional collector oleic acid in the flotation separation of bastnaesite and *** experimental and co mputational results indicate that N-OH-9-ODA exhibits superior selectivity due to its higher adsorption affinity for bastnaesite surface compared to fluorite *** zeta potential and the binding energies of the Ce 3d peaks in the X-ray photoelectron spectrum(XPS) of bastnaesite surface exhibit significant ***,fluorite surface demonstrates minimal alterations in its zeta potential and the binding energies of the Ca 2p peaks in its XPS after its interaction with N-OH-9-ODA.

Low-complexity signal detection for massive MIMO systems via trace iterative method

Xanthate interaction and flotation separation of H2O2-treated chalcopyrite and pyrite

This study investigated the effects of H2O2 treatment on xanthate interaction and flotation separation of chalcopyrite and pyrite by making use of a series of laboratory flotation experiments and surface analysis *** test results showed that H2O2 treatment influenced the flotation behaviors of the two minerals;however,flotation of pyrite was depressed more significantly than that of the *** well-controlled H2O2 concentration,the selective separation of chalcopyrite from pyrite was realized at pH 9.0,at which the recovery of chalcopyrite was over 84%and that of pyrite was less than 24%.Zeta potential,UV-visible and IR spectrum measurements revealed that the collector interacted differently with the two minerals after H2O2 treatment,and the surface of chalcopyrite adsorbed much greater amount of xanthate than that of the *** and XPS analyses showed that the H2O2 treatment significantly changed the surface properties of pyrite to very hydrophilic species that inhibited the adsorption of collector and thus depressed the floatability of ***,the surface of chalcopyrite remained mildly inert to H2O2,as a result,the adsorption of xanthate and its oxidation to dixanthogen were very effective,which enhanced the flotation of chalcopyrite.

Effect mechanism of nonane-1,1-bisphosphonic acid as an alternative collector in monazite flotation:Experimental and calculational studies

Monazite((Ce,La)PO_(4))is one of the major types of light rare earth minerals from which the light rare earth elements cerium(Ce)and lanthanum(La)are economically *** is extensively used to recover fine-grained *** oleate(NaOL)is considered as the collector with strong collecting ability for monazite ***,this study shows that its collecting ability is still *** this paper,a phosphonic acid,nonane-1,1-bisphosphonic acid(C9-BPA),was employed as the novel collector in place of *** experiments show that even when the C9-BPA dosage is less than one-fifth of the NaOL dosage,the monazite recove ry using C9-BPA as the collector is approximately 22 wt%higher than that using *** mechanism by which C9-BPA adsorbs on monazite was investigated using zeta potential,infrared(IR)spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)measurements as well as first-principles *** potential measurements show a more significant decrease in the zeta potentials of monazite after the addition of C9-BPA compared to those after the addition of *** C9-BPA-treated monazite,the characteristic peaks of C9-BPA are observed in the IR and C 1 s XPS spectrum,whereas for monazite treated by NaOL,no characteristic peak of NaOL was *** results show that C9-BPA has a stronger affinity towards the monazite surface than NaOL as confirmed by the higher adsorption energy of CP-BPA on the monazite surface(-204.22 kJ/mol)than NaOL(-48.48 kJ/mol).This study demonstrates an extensive application value and prospect of C9-BPA in monazite flotation and helps design novel collectors with strong collecting ability for monazite flotation.

The massive accumulation of flue gas desulfurization(FGD)gypsum produced in the wet limestone-gypsum flue gas desulfurization process not only encroaches on lands but also causes serious environmental *** preparation ofα-hemihydrate gypsum(α-HH)is an important way to achieve high-value utilization of FGD *** the glycerol-water solution approach can be used to produceα-HH from FGD gypsum under mild conditions,the transition is kinetically unfavorable in the mixed ***,an easy pretreatment was used to activate FGD gypsum by calcination and hydration to readily complete the *** pretreatment deteriorated the crystallinity of FGD gypsum and caused it to form small irregular flaky crystals,which dramatically increased the specific surface ***,most of the organics adsorbed onto FGD gypsum surfaces were removed after *** poor crystallinity,increased specific surface area,and elimination of organics adsorbed onto crystal surfaces effectively improved the conversion activity of FGD gypsum,thereby promoting dihydrate gypsum(DH)dissolution andα-HH ***,the phase transition of FGD gypsum toα-HH is facilitated.

Flocculation of flotation tailings in presence of silicate gel and polymer

Flotation tailings were successfully flocculated in the presence of cationic polyacrylamide and silica *** effects of various parameters such as polymer weight,charge density,and pH on the rate of flocculation were also investigated in the current *** flocculation mechanism of the flocculant on tailings was investigated using zeta potential and Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)*** results obtained reveal that 1)sodium silicate gel,used as a binder for the consolidation of tailings form primary flocs,acts as an anchor and the adsorption of polymer flocculant on these anchors results in the formation of larger flocs and,consequently,enhanced settling rate;2)flocculation in the presence of silica gel and polymer has a faster settling rate than single-polymer flocculation owing to the mechanisms of charge neutralization and bridging as identified using zeta potential and FTIR measurements.A pilot level study was conducted to investigate the influence of processed water on the flotation of *** results show that the proposed tailing disposal method could improve scheelite recovery by 2%(approximately)and could reduce the daily operation costs of the plant by approximately 108.57 USD.

Selective flotation of smithsonite from dolomite by using novel mixed collector system

A novel mixed collector (BHOA) was prepared by mixing benzohydroxamic acid (BHA) and sodium oleate (NaOL) and applied to the flotation separation of smithsonite from dolomite. Flotation results showed that NaOL alone had good collecting performance on smithsonite and common gangue mineral dolomite but had poor selectivity. By using a BHA/NaOL mixed system with a molar ratio of 2:1, the recoveries of smithsonite and dolomite reached approximately 90% and 5%, respectively. Surface tension analysis showed that the surface activity of BHOA was a little higher than that of a single NaOL because of synergistic effects. Zeta potential and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements indicated that surfactants BHA and NaOL co-absorbed on the smithsonite surface and only NaOL was present on the dolomite surface in the presence of BHOA.
