A series of novel carbon nanofibers(CNFs)based Cu-ZrO2 catalysts were synthesized by deposition precipitation *** investigate the influence of promoter,catalysts were loaded with 1,2,3 and 4 wt%ZnO and characterized by ICP-OES,HRTEM,BET,N2O chemisorption,TPR,XPS and CO2-TPD *** results revealed that physicochemical properties of the catalysts were strongly influenced by incorporation of ZnO to the parent *** surface area(SCu)and dispersion(DCu)were slightly decreased by incorporation of ZnO ***,SCuand DCuwere remarkably decreased when ZnO content was exceeded beyond 3 wt%.The catalytic performance was evaluated by using autoclave slurry reactor at a pressure and temperature of 30 bar and 180℃,*** promotion of CuZrO2/CNFs catalyst with 3 wt%of ZnO enhanced methanol synthesis rate from 32 to 45 g kg^-1 h^-***,with the ZnO promotion the selectivity to methanol was enhanced to 92%compared to 78%of the un-promoted Cu-ZrO2/CNFs catalyst at the expense of a lowered CO2 *** addition,the catalytic activity of this novel catalyst system for CO2 hydrogenation to methanol was compared with the recent literature data.

The aim of present study is to develop a pharmacokinetic model for microencapsulated metroni- dazole to predict drug absorption pattern in healthy human and validate this model internally. Metronidazole was microencapsulated into ethylcellulose shells followed by the conversion of these microcapsules into tablets. Dissolution study of tablets was conducted in 450 mL double distilled water, 0.1 mol·L-1 HCl and phosphate buffer (pH 6.8) maintained at (37 ± 0.5) ℃ using USP apparatus II at 50, 100 and 150 r·min-1. Three metronidazole tablets (T1: fast release, T2: moderate release, T3: slow release and reference) were administered to twenty four healthy human volunteers and serial blood samples were collected for 12 hours followed by their analysis using RP-HPLC. Drug release data were analyzed by various model dependent and independent approaches. Drug absorbed (%) was determined by Wagner-Nelson method from plasma concentration profile. Internal predictability was checked from Cmax and AUC. Optimum dissolution profile was observed in double distilled water and 50 r·min-1. A good level A correlation was observed between drug dissolution and absorption profiles (correlation coefficient, R2 = 0.900 9, 0.942 6, 0.901 5 and 0.932 for T1, T2, T3 and reference, respectively). Internal predictability was found less than 10%. Good correlation coefficients and low prediction errors elaborate the validity of this mathematical in-vitro in-vivo correlation model as a predictive tool for the determination of pharmacokinetics from dissolution data.

The current research work aimed at the phytochemical,biological,and in-silico properties of hydro-methanol extract and n-hexane fraction of Crateva adansonii aerial *** bioactive content and UHPLC-MS analysis were used to determine the phytochemical *** biological activities,antioxidant(DPPH,ABTS,FRAP,CUPRAC,phosphomolybdenum,and metal chelation)and enzyme inhibition(againstα-amylase,tyrosinase,acetylcholinesterase-AChE,and butyrylcholinesterase-BChE)activities were *** hydro-methanol extract contained higher phenolic(28.09 mg GAE/g extract)and flavonoid(65.61 mg RE/g extract)contents,which might be correlated with the higher antioxidant potential of this *** the enzyme assays,the n-hexane fraction was most active against BChE andα-amylase,while the methanol extract presented higher inhibition values against AChE and tyrosinase ***,different phytocompounds have been tentatively identified by UHPLC-MS of hydro-methanol extract;most of these belonged to phenolic and flavonoid ***,three important identified phytocompounds(isovitexin,robinetin 3-rutinoside,and luteolin 7-robinobioside),were selected for in-silico computational studies against the tyrosinase *** present investigation revealed that the studied extract/fraction of *** are likely sources of phytoconstituents identified through UHPLC-MS with considerable antioxidant and enzyme inhibitory *** conclude,the evaluated plant should be further investigated for the isolation of bioactive molecules which can be utilized in phytopharmaceuticals.

Lumbar Hernia: An Unusual Presentation of Bear Maul

Introduction: Typical lumbar hernias are very rare surgical conditions. Lumbar hernias can be congenital or acquired. About 25% of all lumbar hernias have a traumatic etiology. Case-Report: We here reported a case of a 55-year-old male who was mauled by a bear. The patient developed an atypical lumbar hernia after 6 months of sustaining craniofacial and abdominal trauma. Open hernioplasty, which was a very challenging job, was done in this patient. Conclusion: Post traumatic lumbar hernias have been reported but till today no case of lumbar hernia following an attack by a bear has been reported in literature. Both acute and long-standing post-traumatic lumbar hernias are rare but challenging conditions. The corrective surgical procedure becomes more complex as hernial defect enlarges. Reconstruction is a challenging aspect of lumbar hernia surgery.

Comparison of Efficacy of Synthetic Pesticides with Botanical Extracts under Field Condition on Cabbage White Butterfly (<i>Pieris brassicae</i>)

Cabbage white butterfly (Pieris brassicae) is one of the important insect pests of cabbage crop which causes remarkable quantitative or qualitative crop losses. The research was conducted at Hazara Agricultural research station, Abbottabad (Pakistan) to study the effect of different new chemical insecticides, botanical oil and neem seed oil (Azadirachta indica A. Juss.) on the population density of P. brassicae. The study showed that neem oil had a significant effect on population of P. brassicae in comparison to control treatment. So, neem oil alone or in combination with insecticides can be used for control of P. brassicae in vegetable crops for a safer food supply.
