Hematite(α-Fe_(2)O_(3)) based photoanodes have been extensively studied due to various intriguing features that make them viable candidates for a photoelectrochemical(PEC) water splitting ***,we propose a Zr-doped Fe_(2)O_(3) photoanode decorated with facilely spin-coated Au nanoparticles(NPs) and microwave-assisted attached Si co-doping in conjunction with a SiO_(x) overlayer that displayed a remarkable photocurrent density of 2.01 mA/cm^(2) at 1.23 V *** kinetic dynamics at the photoelectrode/-electrolyte interface was examined by employing systematic electrochemical *** Au NPs played a dual role in increasing PEC water ***,the Schottky interface that was formed between Au NPs and Zr-Fe_(2)O_(3) lectrode ensured the prevention of electron flow from the photoanode to the metal,increasing the number of available charges as well as suppressing surface charge ***,Au extracted photoholes from the bulk of the Zr-Fe_(2)O_(3) and transported them to the outer SiO_(x) overlayer,while the SiO_(x) overlayer efficiently collected the photoholes and promoted the hole injection into the ***,Si co-doping enhanced bulk conductivity by reducing bulk charge transfer resistance and improving charge carrier *** study outlines a technique to design a metallic charge transfer path with an overlayer for solar energy conversion.

The present work investigates copper slag as a substitute for river sand in high-strength *** concrete mixtures were manufactured with 10%,30%,50%,70%,and 100%of copper slag to evaluate the mechanical and durability *** experimental results indicate that replacing copper slag above 50%affects the performance characteristics of the concrete due to its high angularity and lower water absorption *** strength of concrete with 50%copper slag is improved by 5.6%,whereas the strength of concrete with 100%copper slag is reduced by 2.75%at 28 ***,increased curing to 90days improves the strength of the former by 7.16%and reduces the latter by only 0.23%.The water absorption,porosity,and rapid chloride penetration of the concrete mixtures with 100%copper slag are increased by 10.44%,13.20%,and 19.56%compared to control ***-structural investigations through SEM infer higher replacement of copper results in higher void formation due to its reduced water absorption.

Antimicrobial activities of the tissue extracts of Babylonia spirata linnaeus,1758 (Mollusca:Gastropoda) from Thazhanguda,southeast coast of India

Objective:To investigate the antimicrobial activity of the tissue extracts of Babylonia spirata(***)against nine bacterial and three fungal ***:Crude extract of gastropod was tested for inhibition of bacterial and fungal *** assay was carried out by disc diffusion method and in vitro antifungal activity was determined against Czapex Dox *** antimicrobial activity was measured accordingly based on the inhibition zone around the disc impregnated with gastropod *** size of muscle protein was determined using sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(SDS-PAGE).And fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT1R)spectro photometry analysis was also ***:The maximum inhibition zone(12 mm)was observed against Pseudomonas aeruginosa in the crude ethanol extract of *** and the minimum inhibition zone(2 mm)was noticed against Staphylococcus aureus in the crude methanol extract of *** extract of *** showed the highest activity against Vibrio parahaemolyticus,Staphylococcus aureus and Candida ***,acetone,methanol,chloroform and water extracts showed antimicrobial activity against almost all the bacteria and *** with water extracts,ethanol and methanol extracts showed higher activity against all *** molecular weight of protein of the gastropod sample ranged from 2-110 kDa on *** analysis revealed the presence of bioactive compounds signals at different ***:The research shows that the great medicinal value of the gastropod muscle of *** may be due to high quality of antimicrobial compounds.

Gradient Si-and Ti-doped Fe_(2)O_(3) hierarchical homojunction photoanode for efficient solar water splitting:Effect of facile microwave-assisted growth of Si-FeOOH on Ti-FeOOH nanocorals

The construction of a homojunction is an effective approach for addressing issues such as slow charge separation and charge-transfer kinetics in *** the present work,we designed a gradient Si-and Ti-doped Fe_(2)O_(3) homojunction photoanode to improve the photoelectrochemical(PEC)performance of a Ti-doped Fe_(2)O_(3) ***-FeOOH nanocorals were synthesized using a hydrothermal process,and Si-FeOOH was grown on Ti-FeOOH nanocorals using a rapid and facile microwaveassisted(MW)*** varying the MW irradiation time,the thickness of the Si/Ti:Fe_(2)O_(3) photoanode was adjusted and an optimized 3-Si/Ti:Fe_(2)O_(3) photoelectrode was achieved with a significantly enhanced photocurrent density(1.37 mA cm^(-2) at 1.23 V ***)and a cathodic shift of the onset potential(150 mV)compared with that of bare Ti-Fe_(2)O_(3).This enhanced PEC performance can be ascribed to homojunction formation and Si gradient *** Si dopant increased the donor concentration and the formation of a homojunction improved the intrinsic built-in electric field,thereby promoting charge separation and charge ***,the as-formed homojunction passivated the surfacetrapping states,consequently improving the charge transfer efficiency(60%at 1.23 VRHE)at the photoanode/electrolyte *** findings could pave the way for the microwave-assisted fabrication of diverse efficient homojunction photoanodes for PEC water splitting applications.

Dielectric Relaxation of Methyl Methacrylate and Ethyl Methacrylate on Complexation with Phenols

Dielectric absorption studies of H-bonded complexes of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and ethyl methacrylate (EMA) with p-cresol, p-chlorophenol, 2,4-dichlorophenol, and p-bromophenol were studied at microwave frequency 9.37 GHz in dilute solution of carbon tetrachloride at 308 K. Different dielectric parameters like dielectric constantε′ and dielectric loss ε″ at microwave frequency, static dielectric constant ε_0 and dielectric constant ε_∞ at optical frequency were determined. The validity of the single frequency equation of Higasi et al. for multiple relaxation time τ_(1) was found to be a function of the hydrogen bonding strength of phenolic hydrogen, whereas the group rotation relaxation time τ_(2) was a function of the steric interaction of proton donor. The relaxation time was the maximum at 50∶50 (molar ratio) of methacrylates with phenols.

Cellular metabolic energy modulation by tangeretin in 7,12-dimethylbenz(a) anthracene-induced breast cancer

Breast cancer is the leading cause of death among women *** and chemotherapy play beneficial roles in reducing the incidence and mortality of *** and experimental studies showed that naturally-occurring antioxidants present in the diet may act as anticancer *** the abnormalities of cellular energy metabolism facilitates early detection and management of breast *** present study evaluated the effect of tangeretin on cellular metabolic energy fluxes in 7,12-dimethylbenz（a）anthracene（DMBA）-induced proliferative breast *** results showed that the activities of glycolytic enzymes significantly increased in mammary tissues of DMBA-induced breast cancer bearing *** gluconeogenic tricarboxylic acid（TCA） cycle and respiratory chain enzyme activities significantly decreased in breast cancer-bearing *** addition,proliferating cell nuclear antigen（PCNA） was highly expressed in breast cancer ***,the activities of glycolytic enzymes were significantly normalized in the tangeretin pre- and post-treated rats and the TCA cycle and respiratory chain enzyme activities were significantly increased in tangeretin treated ***,tangeretin down-regulated PCNA expression on breast cancerbearing *** study demonstrates that tangeretin specifically regulates cellular metabolic energy fluxes in DMBA-induced breast cancer-bearing rats.

lithium-sulfur(li-S)batteries are receiving increasing attention as one of the potential next-generation batteries,owing to their high energy densities and low ***,practical li-S batteries with high energy densities are extremely hindered by the sulfur loss,low Coulombic efficiency,and short cycling life originating from the polysulfide(liPS)*** this study,two-dimensional(2D)ZnCo_(2)O_(4) microsheets fabricated by a facile hydrothermal process are employed to modify the separator,for improving the electrochemical performances of li-S *** resulting 2D Zn Co_(2)O_(4)-coated separator features a coating thickness of approximately 10 lm,high ionic conductivity of 1.8 m S/cm,and low mass loading of 0.2 mg/cm^(2).This 2D ZnCo_(2)O_(4)-coated separator effectively inhibits li PS shuttle by a strong chemical interaction with li PS as well as promotes the redox kinetics by Zn CO2O4-coated layers,as determined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis,self-discharge,time-dependent permeation test,li symmetric cell test,and li2S nucleation ***,the li-S batteries based on the 2D Zn Co_(2)O_(4)-coated separator exhibit a high initial discharge capacity of 1292.2 m Ah/g at 0.1 ***,they exhibit excellent long cycle stability at 1 and 2 C with capacity retention of 84%and 86%even after800 cycles,corresponding to a capacity fading rate of 0.020%and 0.016%per cycle,***,these li-S cells with a high sulfur loading at 5.3 mg/cm^(2) and low electrolyte concentration of 9 l l/mg deliver a high discharge capacity of 4.99 m Ah/cm^(2) after 200 cycles at 0.1 C.

Sex differences in SARS-CoV-2 infections,anti-viral immunity and vaccine responses

The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed sex-based differences in anti-viral responses,with a higher rate of SARS-CoV-2 infections as well as a higher rate of morbidity and mortality in men than in *** and females also show disparate immune responses to COVID-19 infection,which may be important contributors to lower rates of infection,disease severity and deaths in women than in ***,the authors review sex differences in SARS-CoV-2 infections,anti-viral immunity and vaccine responses,putting forth the importance of sex,the underappreciated variables in vaccine response and disease infectivity.
