One of the main changes of the current TNM-7 is the elimination of the category MX,since it has been a source of ambiguity and misinterpretation,especially by *** the ultimate staging would be better performed by the patient's clinician who can classify the disease M0(no distant metastasis) or M1(presence of distant metastasis),having access to the completeness of data resulting from clinical examination,imaging workup and pathology *** this important change doesn't take into account the diagnostic value and the challenge of small indeterminate visceral lesions encountered,in particular,during radiological staging of patients with colorectal *** this article the diagnosis of these lesions with multiple imaging modalities,their frequency,significance and relevance to staging and disease management are described in a multidisciplinary *** particular the interplay between clinical,radiological and pathological staging,which are usually conducted independently,is *** integrated approach shows that there are both advantages and disadvantages to abandoning the MX *** avoid ambiguity arising both by applying and interpreting MX category for stage assigning,its abandoning seems *** recognition of the importance of small lesion characterization raises the need for applying a separate category;therefore a proposal for their categorization is put *** using the proposed categorization the lack of consideration for indeterminate visceral lesions with the current staging system will be overcome,also optimizing tailored follow-up.

AIM: To investigate whether the simultaneous treatment with human growth hormone (hGh) abolishes the negative effects of everolimus on anastomotic ***: Forty-eight male Sprague-Dawley-rats were randomized to three groups of 16 animals each (I: vehicle; II: everolimus 3 mg/kg po; III: everolimus 3 mg/kg po + hGh 2.5 mg/kg sc). Animals were pre-treated with hGh and/or everolimus daily for seven days. Then a standard anastomosis was created in the descending colon and treatment was continued for another seven days. The anastomosis was resected in toto and the bursting pressure was assessed as a mechanical parameter of intestinal healing. Purpose The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of pole length on performance and technique selection during a simulated skating cross-country(XC)skiing competition on snow in female XC *** Nine female XC skiers and biathletes(VO2max 63.6±6.2 mL/min/kg,age 22.9±3.5 years,body height 1.69±0.1 m and body mass 60.8±4.6 kg)completed two 5-km skating time-trail with maximal *** athletes had a minimum 4.5 h of rest between the two races,which were performed in a random order:one with self-selected poles(89.0%±0.6%of body height)and one with 7.5 cm increased pole length(94.0%±0.5%of body height).Speed in set terrain sections was determined and the selection of sub-technique was self-reported immediately after each race based on a detailed review of the entire *** Skiers performed on average 7.1±7.1 s(P=0.029)faster with the long poles,with this difference occurring during the first 200 m and in the uphill parts of the track,in which~5% more G3 and~5% fewer G2 sub-techniques were chosen(both Phe rating of perceived exertion was 1±0.9 point lower(P=0.04)and skiing technique was perceived to be~1.2±1.5 points better with long poles(P=0.038),while the physiological responses(i.e.,peak and average heart rate,and blood lactate concentration)did not differ between *** In conclusion,poles 7.5 cm longer than self-selected ones improved performance in skating,by enhancing speed in the initial phase(first 200 m)and in the uphill section of the *** addition,the longer poles induced more use of the G3 skating sub-technique.

Methionine(Met)is an essential and first limiting amino acid in the poultry diet that plays a significant role in chicken embryonic development and *** present study examined the effect of in ovo injection of DL-Met and L-Met sources and genotypes on chicken embryonic-intestinal development and *** eggs of the two genotypes,TETRA-SL layer hybrid(TSL)—commercial layer hybrid and hungarian Partridge colored hen breed(hPC)—a native genotype,were randomly distributed into four treatments for each *** treatment groups include the following:1)control non-injected eggs(NoIn);2)saline-injected(SaIn);3)DL-Met injected(DLM);and 4)L-Met injected(LM).The in ovo injection was carried out on 17.5 d of embryonic development;after hatching,eight chicks per group were sacrificed,and the jejunum was extracted for *** results showed that both DLM and LM groups had enhanced intestinal development as evidenced by increased villus width,villus height,and villus area(Phe *** DLM group had significantly reduced crypt depth,glutathione(GSh)content,glutathione S-transferase 3 alpha(GST3),occludin(OCLN)gene expression and increased villus height to crypt depth ratio in the TSL genotype than the LM group(Phe hPC genotype has overexpressed insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF1)gene,tricellulin(MD2),occludin(OCLN),superoxide dismutase 1(SOD1),and GST3 genes than the TSL genotype(Phese findings showed that in ovo injection of Met enhanced intestinal development,and function,with genotypes responding differently under normal *** also influenced the expression of intestinal antioxidants,tight junction,and growth-related genes.

Linguistic Theory in the Framework of a Cognitive Semiotics: Language as Simulation and Linearization of Thought

A cognitive version of semiotics has to reopen the discussion of how to understand language in general and the possibility of a theory of language. L. hjelmslev and his current French semio-linguistic followers, inspired by the great pioneer of structural semantics A.-J. Greimas, anchor their inquiry exclusively in text and discourse. By contrast, cognitive linguistics from Langacker and Talmy to Croft and Evans anchors language in the embodied mind, but has no perspective on text and discourse other than claiming that culture in general shapes what is not shaped by mind and perception. In one frame(hjelmslev-Greimas), language is everything, and in the other(Langacker-Croft), it is almost nothing(in itself). Could we instead conceive language as ‘something', as forming a substantial, structured, particular link between culture and the mind-brain, essential to both culture and mind-brain? Could we build a theoretical and analytical study of language in all forms, in order to describe it as a structured architecture of instances that connect culture and mind? In that case, we will have to revisit the models of both semio-linguistics and cognitive linguistics and examine the semiotic functions in language that allow the sharing of meaning to which other animals have no access, the sophisticated connection of communication and thinking that makes human culture possible. This paper shortly presents a few core suggestions concerning three involved issues: the linear wording of language(linearization); the role of syntax as a reconstruction of thought that simulates its composition; and the complex semiotic functions that connect its ‘immanent' core operations and its ‘transcendent' enunciational and pragmatic operations.

Many syndromic forms of autism spectrum disorder(ASD) are caused by mutations in proteins such as PTEN, TSC1, TSC2, and FMRP, which lie within the m TOR signaling pathway. While recent work has primarily focused on the dysregulation of protein translation via the deletion of these genes, few studies have examined how disruption of autophagy, another major downstream branch of m TOR signaling,contributes to neuronal dysfunction and ASD pathogenesis. To this end, we and others have previously examined mice deficient for autophagy in forebrain excitatory neurons via the deletion of Atg7 by Ca MKII-cre and observed ASD-like behavioural abnormalities in addition to neuronal dysfunctions from the molecular to the network level. As ASD is believed to be caused by an imbalance between excitatory and inhibitory signals in the brain, we have further extended our analysis to examine disruption of autophagy in forebrain GABAergic interneurons. Similar to disrupted autophagy in other neuronal and non-neuronal cell types, Atg7 deletion by Dlx5-cre results in time-dependent ubiquitin+ and p62+ aggregate formation in affected neurons. Notably, Dlx5-cre Atg7 c KO mice exhibit an overlapping set of ASD-like behavioural abnormalities previously observed in Ca MKII-cre Atg7 c KO animals. Furthermore, we have detected a disruption of the excitatory-inhibitory balance in both Ca MKII-cre and Dlx5-cre Atg7 c KO mice. Using primary cultured neurons, a specific reduction of surface GABAA receptors was observed in Atg7 c KO neurons. Unbiased mass spectrometric and subsequent antibody-based analyses demonstrated that members of the GABARAP(GABA receptor-associated protein) protein family accumulate and mislocalize to p62+ aggregates formed in affected neurons of both Ca MKII-cre and Dlx5-cre Atg7 c KO brains. AIM： To study the association between inflammatory bowel disease （IBD） and genetic variations in eosinophil protein X （EPX） and eosinophil cationic protein （ECP）. METhODS： DNA was extracted from ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid blood of 587 patients with Crohn＇s disease （CD）, 592 with ulcerative colitis （UC） and 300 healthy subjects. The EPX405 （G 〉 C, rs2013109）, ECP434 （G 〉 C, rs2073342） and ECP562 （G 〉 C, rs2233860） gene polymorphisms were analysed, by the 5＇-nuclease allelic discrimination assay. For de- termination of intracellular content of EPX and ECP in granulocytes, 39 blood samples was collected and extracted with a buffer containing cetyltrimethylam- monium bromide. The intracellular content of EPX was analysed using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent as- say. The intracellular content of ECP was analysed with the UniCAP system as described by the manufacturer. Statistical tests for calculations of results were χ2 test, Fisher＇s exact test, ANOVA, Student-Newman-Keuls test, and Kaplan-Meier survival curve with Log-rank test for trend, the probability values of P 〈 0.05 were considered statistically ***： The genotype frequency for males with UC and with an age of disease onset of ≥ 45 years （n = 57） was for ECP434 and ECP562, GG = 37%, GC = 60%, CC = 4% and GG = 51%, GC = 49%, CC = 0% respectively. This was significantly different from the healthy subject＇s genotype frequencies of ECP434 （GG = 57%, GC = 38%, CC = 5%; P = 0.010） and ECP562 （GG = 68%, GC = 29%,CC = 3%; P = 0.009）. The genotype frequencies for females, with an age of dis- ease onset of ≥ 45 years with CD （n = 62）, was for the ECP434 and ECP562 genotypes GG = 37%, GC =52%, CC = 11% and GG = 48%, GC = 47% and CC = 5% respectively. This was also statistically different from healthy controls for both ECP434 （P = 0.010） and ECP562 （P = 0.013）. The intracellular protein concen- tration of EPX and ECP was calculated in μg/10^6 eosi- nophils and then correlated to the EPX 405 genotypes
