Treatment efficacy of radiof requency ablation of 338 patients with hepatic malignant tumor and the relevant complications

AIM： To investigate the treatment efficacy of radiofrequency ablation （RFA） of hepatic malignant tumor and the relevant complications. METHODS： A total of 338 patients with 763 hepatic tumors underwent ultrasound-guided RFA （565 procedures）. There were 204 cases of hepatic cellular carcinoma （HCC） with 430 tumors, the mean largest diameter was 4.0 cm. Of them, 48 patients （23.5%） were in stages Ⅰ-Ⅱ （UICC Systems） and 156 （76.5%） in stages Ⅲ-Ⅳ There were 134 cases of metastatic liver carcinoma （MLC）, with 333 metastases in the liver, the mean diameter was 4.1 cm, the liver metastases of 96 patients （71.6%） came from gastrointestinal tract. Ninety-three percent of the 338 patients were treated using the relatively standard protocol. Crucial attention must be paid to monitor the abnormal changes in ultrasound images as well as the vital signs of the patients to find the possible hemorrhage and peripheral structures injury in time. The tumors were considered as ablated completely, if no viability was found on enhanced CT within 24 h or at 1 mo after RFA. These patients were followed up for 3-57 too. RESULTS： The ablation success rate was 93.3% （401/430 tumors） for HCC and was 96.7% （322/333 tumors） for MLC. The local recurrence rate for HCC and MLC was 7.9% （34/430 tumors） and 10.5% （351333 tumors）, respectively. A total of 137 patients （40.5%） underwent 2-11 times of repeated ablations because of tumor recurrence or metastasis. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year survival rate was 84.6%, 66.6%, and 63.1%, respectively; the survival rate from 48 patients of I-II stage HCC was 93.7%, 80.4%, and 80.4%, respectively. The major complication rate in this study was 2.5% （14 of 565 procedures）, which consisted of 5 hemorrhages, i colon perforation, 5 injuries of adjacent structures, 2 bile leakages, and 1 skin burn. With the increasing demand for energy conservation and emission reduction,more attentions have been paid to the intelligentization,greenization and low carbonization during the transformation and upgrading of steelmaking *** furnace(LF)refining is one of the key procedures in steelmaking process and has been widely used in steelmaking plants for its high equipment matching degree,low equipment investment and outstanding refining *** to the main tasks of LF refining process,the modeling methods of temperature prediction model,slag-making model,alloying model,argon blowing model and model of inclusions behavior were systematically reviewed,and the advantages and disadvantages of each modeling method were *** addition,the technical framework for the future has also been proposed based on existing works,including classification of raw materials,graphic representation of knowledge,introduction,upgradation and management of device/equipment,customization of steelmaking,modeling of refining process,synergy of models,intelligentization of decision-making,automation of control,and digitization of processes and operations,aiming to provide a reference for the modeling and intelligent development of LF refining process.

Against the backdrop of a global paper resource shortage,there is a growing need to identify fast-growing tree species capable of producing long-lasting *** plant species namely Broussonetia kazinoki,Broussonetia papyrifera and hybrid paper mulberry,belong to the Broussonetia genus,were collected from China to study their white bark suitability for pulp and *** chemical composition revealed that the holocellulose content in Broussonetia kazinoki and Broussonetia papyrifera was more than 80%.The molecular weight distribution of several holocellulose/α-cellulose is observed by GPC,which allows us to better observe the changes of various components on the molecular *** yield,lignin,whiteness,and molecular weight of the pulps obtained by NaOH treatment were *** microscope was used to characterize the fiber length-width ratio and ***,the improvement of the fiber rigidity method based on the Kratky-Porod chain model makes it more theoretical and further reveals the influencing factors of fiber *** study demonstrates the high potentiality of these three species for papermaking applications.

Second near-infrared(NIR-II)window optical molecular imaging kicks off a new revolution in high-quality imaging in vivo,but always suffers from the hurdles of inevitable tissue autofluorescence background and NIR-II probe ***,we prepare a Förster resonance energy transfer-based ratiometric NIR-II window hydrogen sulfide(H_(2)S)sensor through the combination of an H_(2)S-responsive NIR-II cyanine dye(acceptor,LET-1055)and an H_(2)S-inert rhodamine hybrid polymethine dye(donor,Rh930).This sensor not only exhibits high sensitivity and selectivity,but also shows rapid reaction kinetics(~20 min)and relatively low limit of detection(~96 nM)toward H_(2)S,allowing in vivo ratiometric NIR-II fluorescence imaging of orthotopic liver and colon tumors and visualization of the drug-induced hepatic H_(2)S *** findings provide the potential for advancing the feasibility of NIR-II activity-based sensing for in vivo clinical diagnosis.

Hot-extrusion and cold-rolling were conducted on Mg-Ce binary alloys to explore the effect of cerium(Ce)on microstructure,texture and mechanical properties of Mg *** addition of Ce results in significant grain refinement both in as-cast and hot-extruded *** basal texture is also weakened after extrusion and an inclined basal texture is formed with Ce *** strength and elongation of the Mg-Ce alloys are improved simultaneously due to such grain refinement and texture weakening *** cold-rolling,plenty of twins are found in the pure Mg and AZ31 plates while grains in the Mg-0.3Ce plate deform more uniformly without lamellar twin ***,Mg-0.3Ce alloys own strong and continuous strain hardening because Ce atoms and Mg-Ce precipitated phases serve as obstacles for dislocation slip.

Li_(2)MnO_(3)and Li_(2)RuO_(3)represent two prototype Li-rich transition metal(TM)oxides as high-capacity cathodes for Li-ion batteries,which have similar crystal structures but show quite different cycling ***,based on the first-princi-ples calculations,we systematically studied the electronic structures and defect properties of these two Li-rich cathodes,in order to get more understanding on the structural degradation mechanism in Li-rich TM *** calculations indicated that the structural and cycling stability of Li_(2)MnO_(3)and Li_(2)RuO_(3)depend closely on their electronic structures,especially the energy of their highest occupied electronic states(HOS),as it largely determines the defect properties of these *** Li_(2)MnO_(3)with low-energy HOS,we found that,due to the defect charge transfer mechanism,various defects can form spontaneously in its host structure as Li ions are extracted upon delithiation,which seriously deteriorates its structural and cycling *** for Li_(2)RuO_(3),on the other hand,we identified that the high-energy HOS prevents it from the defect formation upon delithi-ation and thus preserve its cycling *** studies thus illustrated an electronic origin of the structural degradation in Li-rich TM oxides and implied that it is possible to improve their cycling performances by carefully adjusting their TM compo-nents.

In multicellular organisms,developmental history of cell divisions and functional annotation of terminal cells can be organized into a cell lineage tree(CLT).The reconstruction of the CLT has long been a major goal in developmental biology and other related *** technological advancements,especially those in editable genomic barcodes and single-cell high-throughput sequencing,have sparked a new wave of experimental methods for reconstructing *** we review the existing experimental approaches to the reconstruction of CLT,which are broadly categorized as either image-based or DNA barcode-based *** addition,we present a summary of the related literature based on the biological insight pro-vided by the obtained ***,we discuss the challenges that will arise as more and better CLT data become available in the near *** barcoding-based CLT reconstructions and analyses,due to their wide applicability and high scalability,offer the potential for novel biological discoveries,especially those related to general and systemic properties of the developmental process.
