Construction of daily precipitation series and the observational characteristics of extreme precipitation in Tianjin,China during 1888-2022

Given the difficulties in rescuing and ensuring the quality of long-term climate data,current studies on century-scale climate change are usually limited to annual and monthly data,resulting in the poor detection of extreme climate events and their changes before *** this study,we reconstructed a daily precipitation series for Tianjin from 15 September 1887 to 31 December 2022 on the basis of the most comprehensive daily precipitation records collected from the Tianjin Meteorological Archive,China,and in reference to the precipitation analysis results based on the datasets developed by the Climatic Research Unit Time-Series version 4.06,Global Precipitation Climatology Centre and University of Delaware along with the application of various homogenisation methods for climate *** approach provides a complete and reliable century-long daily precipitation series for the study of regional or local extreme weather and climate *** reconstructed daily dataset reveals that the annual precipitation amount and R95 intensity in Tianjin during 1888-2022 lack significant trends and have values of 0.74±6.99 and-1.84±3.22 mm per decade,*** the annual and seasonal scales,the precipitation amount and R95 intensity,particularly those in autumn,have increased since the latter half of the 20th century relative to those in ***,the increase in precipitation amount and R95 intensity is relatively limited compared with that in atmospheric water vapour content due to surface warming,indicating the highly sensitive response of extreme precipitation events to *** addition,the estimates for the return periods of 5,10,20,50 and 100 years covering 1888-2022,1888-1950 and 1951-2022 depict that the intensity of heavy rain and above magnitude was highest in 1888-1950 and decreased in 1951-2022.

Wide Stopband Substrate Integrated Waveguide Filter Using Bisection and Trisection Coupling in Multilayer

This article presents a highly efficient method for substrate-integrated-waveguide（SIW） filters to achieve very wide stopbands. By employing the proposed trisection slots in addition to the bisection slots as the inter-coupling structures, all spurious modes below TE505 of a SIW filter working in the fundamental mode TE101（f0）can be eliminated without requiring additional structure or complex theoretical analysis, without affecting the design of the fundamental passbands, and without degrading the performance of the filters. For verification, two prototype filters are designed, fabricated, and measured with wide stopbands up to 4.15f0 and 4.83f0, respectively. The proposed technique could facilitate the development of high-performance wide-stopband SIW filters for microwave/wireless circuits and systems.

Epicanthus is a half-moon-shaped skin fold diagonally or vertically distributed in front of the medial canthus. In mild cases, it affects aesthetics, whereas in severe cases, it may obscure the patient's field of vision and even affect the functional development of the eyes in children. Until now, surgery has been the only corrective measure for epicanthus and a bewildering number of epicanthus-related surgical procedures have been reported; however,there is no standardized classification to guide inexperienced plastic surgeons in their study or case ***, this review aimed to classify epicanthus accordingly and introduce its corresponding and appropriate surgical treatment modalities.

Interface Design Strategy for GNS/AZ91 Composites with Semi-Coherent Structure

The interfacial structure plays an important role in the mechanical properties of magnesium matrix composite(MMCs)reinforced with graphene nanosheet(GNS)due to their poor wettability with the Mg *** interface design strategy was proposed to form the semi-coherent interfacial structure with superior bonding *** lattice mismatch and interfacial bonding strength between Mg/rare earth oxide/carbon were utilized as key characteristics to evaluate the interfacial *** oxide(La2O3)was selected as the intermediate candidate due to its low lattice mismatch and high interfacial bonding *** identify the interfacial structure of Mg/La2O3/graphene,first-principles calculations were conducted to calculate the ideal work of separation and electronic structure of the *** demonstrated the presence of strong ionic and covalent interactions at the interface,which theoretically verified the strong interfacial bonding strength among Mg/La2O3/graphene *** experimentally validate the interface strength,MMCs with the interface structure of Mg/La2O3/GNS were *** formation of in-situ La2O3 led to the successful attainment of semi-coherent structures between Mg/La2O3 and La2O3/GNS,resulting in high strength and good ductility of the ***,this work proposes a new approach to interface design in MMCs with an enhancement of mechanical properties.

Lead-free Bi_(_(0.5))Na_(_(0.5))TiO_(3)(BNT)piezoelectric ceramics have the advantages of large coercive fields and high Curie *** the improvement of piezoelectric coefficient(d 33)is usually accompanied by a huge sacrifice of depolarization temperature(T d).In this work,a well-balanced performance of d 33 and T d is achieved in MnO_(2)-doped 0.79(Bi_(_(0.5))Na_(_(0.5))TiO_(3))-0.14(Bi_(0.5)K_(0.5)TiO_(3))-0.07BaTiO_(3)ternary *** in-corporation of 0.25 mol%MnO_(2)enhances the d 33 by more than 40%,while T d remains almost unchanged(i.e.,d 33=181 pC/N,T d=184℃).X-ray diffraction(XRD)shows that an appropriate fraction of the small axis-ratio ferroelectric phase(pseudo-cubic,P c)coexists with the long-range ferroelectric phase(tetrag-onal,T)under this MnO_(2)*** force microscopy(PFM)has revealed a special domain configuration,namely large striped and layered macro domains embedded with small *** study provides a distinctive avenue to design BNT-based piezoelectric ceramics with high piezoelectric performance and temperature stability.

Huaiyu pill(槐榆片) alleviates inflammatory bowel disease in mice via blocking toll like receptor 4/ myeloid differentiation primary response gene 88/ nuclear factor kappa B subunit 1 pathway

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the therapeutic effects of Huaiyu pill (槐榆片， HYP) on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and the underlying mechanisms have not been elucidated. METHODS: To establish the IBD model， mice were administered with dextran sulfate sodium (DSS). Mice were intragastrically pre-treated with sulfasalazine (SASP) and HYP. Disease activity index (DAI) and colon length were monitored， and the colonic tissues were subjected to hematoxylin-eosin staining. Pro-inflammatory factors and vascular inflammation-related proteins were determined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The potential mechanisms of HYP were examined using network pharmacology *** expressions of zona occludens 1 (ZO-1)， occludin， toll like receptor 4 (TLR4)， myeloid differentiation primary response gene 88 (MYD88)， and nuclear factor kappa B p65 subunit (NF-κB p65) in colon tissues were examined using Western blotting or immunohistochemical analyses. RESULTS: Pre-treatment with HYP enhanced the colon length， decreased DAI scores， and mitigated histopathological alterations in DSS-treated mice. HYP alleviated intestinal inflammation by downregulating the levels of interleukin 1 beta (IL-1β)， interleukin 6 (IL-6)， tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin 17 (IL-17). Additionally， HYP suppressed the disruption of the gut barrier by upregulating the ZO-1， occludin， and mucin 2 (MUC2) levels and downregulating the endothelin 1(ET-1) and erythropoietin (EPO) levels. Network pharmacological analysis and experimental results revealed that HYP downregulated the colonic tissue levels of TLR4， MYD88， and NF-κB p65 in DSS-treated mice. CONCLUSION: This study investigated the in vivo therapeutic effects of HYP on IBD and the underlying molecular mechanisms. These findings provide an experimental foundation for the clinical application of HYP.

Facile preparation of a SiC@SiO_(2)nanowire-toughened ZrB_(2)-SiC/SiC bilayer coating with good interfacial bonding,high toughness,and excellent cyclic ablation resistance on C/CA composites

Preparing antioxidant coatings to address the inherent oxidation sensitivity of carbon fiber-reinforced carbon aerogel(C/CA)composites is a feasible way to promote their application in oxidizing environments as thermal insulation ***,preparing the coatings with excellent oxidation and ablation resistance while avoiding evident damage to the C/CA substrate still remains a ***,a SiC@SiO_(2)nanowire-toughened ZrB2–SiC/SiC bilayer coating with a large thickness of 500μm was prepared on C/CA using a one-step low-temperature reaction sintering method,which simultaneously formed a sintered outer layer with even-distributed nanowires and a siliconized gradient inner *** courtesy of the synergic thermal response of the layers and the crack deflection induced by the nanowires,the resulting coating has moderate residual compressive stress of 0.08–1.22 GPa in the interface,high interfacial bonding strength of 6.02 MPa,and good fracture toughness of 4.36 MPa·m^(1/2).Benefited from the optimum components and improved structure,the coating shows excellent cyclic ablation resistance with linear ablation rates of 0.1μm/s at 1650℃for 1500 s(300 s×5 cycles)and 0.4μm/s at 1850℃for 900 s(300 s×3 cycles).The one-step preparation strategy contributes to little damage to the substrate,thus showing the well-preserved mechanical and thermal insulation properties.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the uncertainty of 2πcx and 2πβsurface emission rates using the windowless multiwire proportional counter *** study used the Monte Carlo method(MCM)to validate the conventional Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement(GUM)method.A dead time mea surement model for the two-source method was established based on the cha racteristics of a single--channel measurement systemn,and the voltage threshold correction factor measurement function was indi rectly obtained by fitting the threshold correction *** uncertainty in the surface emission rate was calculated using the GUM method and the law of propagation of *** MCM provided clear definitions for each input quantity and its uncertainty distribution,and the simulation training was realized witha complete and complex mathematical *** results of the surface emission rate uncertainty evaluation for four radioactive plane sources using both methods showed the uncertainty's consistency E_(n)<0.070 for the comparison of each source,and the uncertainty results ofthe GUM were all lower than those of the ***,the MCM has a more objective evaluation process and can serve as a validation tool for GUM results.

Multi-area Frequency-constrained Unit Commitment for Power Systems with High Penetration of Renewable Energy Sources and Induction Machine Load

The increasing penetration of renewable energy sources(RESs)brings great challenges to the frequency security of power *** traditional frequency-constrained unit commitment(FCUC)analyzes frequency by simplifying the average system frequency and ignoring numerous induction machines(IMs)in load,which may underestimate the risk and increase the operational *** this paper,we consider a multiarea frequency response(MAFR)model to capture the frequency dynamics in the unit scheduling problem,in which regional frequency security and the inertia of IM load are modeled with high-dimension differential algebraic equations.A multi-area FCUC(MFCUC)is formulated as mixed-integer nonlinear programming(MINLP)on the basis of the MAFR ***,we develop a multi-direction decomposition algorithm to solve the MFCUC *** original MINLP is decomposed into a master problem and *** subproblems check the nonlinear frequency dynamics and generate linear optimization cuts for the master problem to improve the frequency security in its optimal *** studies on the modified IEEE 39-bus system and IEEE 118-bus system show a great reduction in operational ***,simulation results verify the ability of the proposed MAFR model to reflect regional frequency security and the available inertia of IMs in unit scheduling.
