The discovery of Late Triassic hypabyssal mafic dykes in the Huozhou complex and their geological significance:Evidence from petrology,geochemistry,and geochronology

The Huozhou complex in the Trans-North China Orogen exhibits two events of mafic magmatism(separated by ca.700 Ma):Neoproterozoic(920±15 Ma)Shimenyu diabase and Late Triassic(217±2.5 Ma)Xingtangsi *** have focused on systematic petrology,zircon U-Pb dating,Lu-Hf isotopes,and *** research findings indicate that the Late Triassic Xingtangsi diabase of the Huozhou complex can be classified as a transitional type between intermediate and mafic rocks based on their SiO_(2)*** classification is supported by an average SiO_(2)content of 53.94%,ranging from 53.33%to 54.28%.In the Zr/TiO_(2)*** diagram,all samples lie within the range of *** zircons from the Late Triassic Xingtangsi diabase have lowε_(Hf)(t)values ranging from-12.7 to-8.7,with an average ***,the single-stage model age T_(DM1)is estimated to be between 1207 and 1701 *** findings suggest that the magma responsible for the dyke originated from either partial melting or an enriched mantle source inside the Meso-Proterozoic lithospheric *** elevated concentrations of Th(thorium)and LREEs(light rare earth elements),as well as the Th/Yb and Th/Nb ratios,suggest the potential incorporation of subducted sediments within the magma source *** rock displays negative Nb,Ta,Zr,Hf,and Ti *** geochemical attributes align with the distinctive traits observed in volcanic rocks found within island *** formation of the Late Triassic Xingtangsi diabase is likely associated with the geological context of an arc setting,which arises from the collision between the Yangtze plate and the North China Craton.

We studied an Archean mafic dike in the TransNorth China Orogen of the North China Craton, which has a magmatic age of 2701 ± 83 Ma and is currently the oldest mafic dike in the North China Craton. Such an old dike is extremely rare in the world. The presence of mafic dikes indicates that the North China Craton was in a tensional tectonic environment at 2.7 Ga. Geochemical characteristics reveal that this mafic dike belongs to continental tholeiitic basalt. Results from Hf isotope analysis reveal that the mafic dike originates from a depleted mantle. The plate assembly in the North China landmass was realized during the Archean era(2.7 Ga), and a thick and stable continental crust was formed. Therefore, the first cratonization of the North China Craton was completed before 2.7 Ga. The intrusion of the 2.7-Ga-old mafic dike from the deep lithospheric mantle of the continent indicates that the North China Craton has undergone a period of extensional tectonic activity. This event marks a significant extensional event that occurred after the cratonization of the North China Craton.

Residential expansion is gaining more and more attention from government authorities and urban ***,most of the current urban models focus heavily on presenting economic,political and ecological objectives of urban development,while seldom taking the effects of human behavior into ***-agent systems for land use/cover change(MAS/LUCC),which mainly concern the behavioral effects of stakeholders on the processes of land use/cover change,are promising to fill the *** article,based on the concepts of MAS/LUCC model,con-structs a multi-agent system for residential expansion model(MAS/RE)through the analysis of the behavior of gov-ernment authorities and *** model takes complex human actions into account,namely urban master plan-ning,planning review and approval,policies of traffic,economy and environment,location and allocation choices of the households and their *** Hongshan District of Wuhan City,Hubei Province as an illustration,the model is implemented on Arc/info platform to simulate residential expansion between 1996 and *** study result shows that the model is suitable for understanding the process of residential expansion with the effects of human actions,and is especially effective for its capacity in presenting spatio-temporal and behavioral ***,the model can be a reference for policy-making for government authorities and urban planners.

Hydrocracking represents an important process in modern petroleum refining industry,whose performance mainly relies on the identity of *** this work,we perform a combined thermodynamics and kinetics study on the hydrogenation of naphthalene over a commercialized NiMo/HY *** reaction network is constructed for the respective production of decalin and methylindane via the intermediate product of tetralin,which could further undergo hydrogenation to butylbenzene,ethylbenzene,xylene,toluene,benzene,methylcyclohexane and *** thermodynamics analysis suggests the optimum operating conditions for the production of monoaromatics are 400℃,8.0 MPa,and 4.0 hydrogen/naphthalene *** on these,the influences of reaction temperature,pressure,hydrogen/-naphthalene ratio,and liquid hourly space velocity(LHSV)are investigated to fit the Langmuir-Hinshelwood *** is found that the higher temperature and pressure while lower LHSV favors monoaromatics production,which is insensitive to the hydrogen/naphthalene ***,the high consistence between the experimental and simulated data further validates the as-obtained kinetics model on the prediction of catalytic performance over this kind of catalyst.

Vacuum gas oil(VGO)is the most important feedstock for hydrocracking processes in refineries,but its molecular composition cannot be fully acquired by current analysis techniques owing to its *** order to build an accurate and reliable molecular-level kinetic model for reactor design and process optimization,the molecular composition of VGO has to be reconstructed based on limited *** this study,a modified stochastic reconstruction-entropy maximization(SR-REM)algorithm was applied to reconstruct VGOs,with generation of a general molecule library once and for all via the SR method at the first step and adjustment of the molecular abundance of various VGOs via the REM method at the second *** universality of the molecule library and the effectiveness of the modified SR-REM method were validated by fifteen VGOs(three from the literature)from different geographic regions of the world and with different *** simulated properties(density,elemental composition,paraffin-naphthene-aromatics distribution,boiling point distribution,detailed composition of naphthenes and aromatics in terms of ring number as well as composition of S-heterocycles)are in good agreement with the measured counterparts,showing average absolute relative errors of below 10%for each property.

A series of Cu-Ce-Zr catalysts with different Ce contents are applied to the hydrogenation of CO_(2)to CO/CH3OH *** Cu-Ce-Zr catalyst with 2 wt%Ce loading shows higher CO selectivity(S_(CO)=0.0%-87.8%)from 200-300℃,while the Cu-Ce-Zr catalyst with 8 wt%Ce loading presents higher CO_(2)conversion(X_(CO_(2))=5.4%-15.6%)and CH3OH selectivity(S_(CH_(3)OH)=97.8%-40.6%).The number of hydroxyl groups and solid solution nature play a significant role in changing the reaction *** solid solution enhances the CO_(2)adsorption *** the CO_(2)adsorption step,a larger number of hydroxyl groups over the Cu-Ce-Zr catalyst with 8 wt%Ce loading leads to the production of H-containing adsorption *** the CO_(2)hydrogenation step,a larger number of hydroxyl groups assists in encouraging the further hydrogenation of intermediate species to CH_(3)OH and improving the hydrogenation ***,the Cu-Ce-Zr catalyst with 8 wt%Ce loading favors CH3OH selectivity and CO_(2)activation,while CO is preferred on the Cu-Ce-Zr catalyst with 2 wt%Ce loading,a smaller number of hydroxyl groups and a solid solution ***,high-pressure in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy shows that CO is produced from formate decomposition and that both monodentate formate and bidentate formate are active intermediate species of CO_(2)hydrogenation to CH3OH.

Economic structure and environmental quality and their impact on changing land use efficiency in China

Extensive urban land expansion and heavy industrialization have increased energy consumption and caused environmental problems, both of which present serious threats to humans. Consequently, improved land use efficiency and realization of green development are imperative. Based on a detailed analysis of spatial- temporal evolution of urban land use efficiency, this paper analyzes the synergistic effect of industrial structure and city size, as well as the effect of environmental quality, by using panel data from 283 cities at or above prefecture- level in China from 2003 to 2012. It was concluded that 1） environmental quality has an obvious ＂crowding out effect＂ on urban land use efficiency and 2） urban land use efficiency shows a significant spatial auto-correlation. The effect of industrial structure is dependent on popula- tion size of the city. It has been found that a threshold population size of more than 108.45 （10,000 persons） is needed for an optimized benefit from industrial linkages. The urban population size presents an inverted-U shape against the urban land use efficiency, and the marginal benefit of urban size increases when the industrial structure shifts from secondary industry to tertiary industry. Additionally we found that the actual urban size of 98.2% is less than the cities＇ optimal sizes.

Hydrocracking of petroleum feedstock represents a compelling route for the production of industrial clean fuels, which has triggered the continuous research and development of core technology related areas such as catalysts, reaction engineering and engineering design. This review particularly focuses on the research and development of catalysts and catalytic processes for hydrocracking of petroleum feedstock in China. Hydroprocessing technologies of China keep pace with the up-todate progress of the world, and some of the technologies have achieved leading role in the world. It is noted that China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation has a full range of hydroprocessing technologies and provides corresponding tailor-made catalysts. Through the efforts of several generations, 20 categories of the catalysts including more than 60 brands have been developed, among which more than 40 brands have been successfully applied for more than 130 times. Importantly, the pivotal technical improvements including the deep drawing vacuum gas-oil (VGO) and de-asphalting oil hydrocracking technology to improve material adaptability, the high value-added hydrogenation technology to convert high aromatic diesel conversion to naphtha, the hydrocracking technology using VGO-catalytic diesel blends, the Fushun Research Institute of Petroleum and Petrochemicals' diesel to gasoline and diesel hydrocracking technologies, and the Sheer hydrocracking technology to reduce energy are reviewed.
