Meniscus-Assisted Solution Printing Enables Cocrystallization in Poly(3-alkylthiophene)-based Blends for Field-Effect Transistors

The formation of cocrystallization in two various conjugated components may endow the newly formed conjugated cocrystals with multiple functionalities and improved charge transport properties.However,compared to conjugated small molecules,this strategy is rather limitedly realized in conjugated polymers.Herein,a simple meniscus-assisted solution printing(MASP)strategy is utilized to achieve the cocrystallization in the blends of two conjugated polymers,i.e.,poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT)and poly(3-octylthiophene)(P3OT),and the cocrystalline structures are correlated closely to their charge mobilities.The P3HT/P3OT blends phase separate and crystallize individually in their drop-cast thin films.When subjecting the P3HT/P3OT blended solution to MASP,the confined solvent evaporation between two nearly parallel plates triggers them to cocrystallize progressively when accelerating the moving lower plate.The cocrystallization kinetics and the changes in P3HT/P3OT molecular structures are elucidated.Finally,these different crystalline structures of P3HT/P3OT blends are applied in organic fieldeffect transistors,imparting the cocrystallization-enhanced charge transport than respective P3HT and P3OT crystal domains.Such MASP method can be extended to craft cocrystals of other conjugated polymer blends for their diverse optoelectronic applications.

The application of homogeneous electrocatalytic reactions in energy storage and conversion has driven surging interests of researchers in exploring the reaction mechanisms of molecular catalysts.In this paper,homogeneous electrocatalytic reaction between hydroxymethylferrocene(HMF)and L-cysteine is intensively investigated by cyclic voltammetry and square wave voltammetry for which,the secondorder rate constant(k_(ec))of the chemical reaction between HMF^(+)and L-cysteine is determined via a 1D homogeneous electrocatalytic reaction model based on finite element simulation.The corresponding k_(ec)(1.1(mol·m^(-3))^(-1)·s^(-1))is further verified by linear sweep voltammograms under the same model.Square wave voltammetry parameters including potential frequency(f),increment(Estep)and amplitude(ESW)have been comprehensively investigated in terms of the voltammetric waveform transition of homogeneous electrocatalytic reaction.Specifically,the effect of potential frequency and increment is in accordance with the potential scan rate in cyclic voltammetry and the increase of pulsed potential amplitude results in a conspicuous split oxidative peaks phenomenon.Moreover,the proposed methodology of k_(ec)prediction is examined by hydroxyethylferrocene(HEF)and L-cysteine.The present work facilitates the understanding of homogeneous electrocatalytic reaction for energy storage purpose,especially in terms of electrochemical kinetics extraction and flow battery design.

Homocysteine(Hcy), cysteine(Cys) and glutathione(GSH) play crucial roles in redox homeostasis during mitochondria functions. Simultaneous differentiation and visualization of mitochondrial biothiols dynamics are significant for understanding cell metabolism and their related diseases. Herein, a multisitebinding fluorescent probe(MCP) was developed for simultaneous sensing of mitochondrial Cys, GSH and Hcy from three fluorescence channels for the first time. This novel probe exhibited rapid fluorescence turn-on, good water-solubility, high selectivity and large spectral separation for discriminating Cys, GSH and Hcy with 131-, 96-, 748-fold fluorescence increasement at 471, 520, 567 nm through different excitation wavelengths, respectively. Importantly, this probe was successfully applied to simultaneous monitoring of mitochondrial Cys, GSH, and Hcy in live cells and zebrafish from three fluorescence channels,promoting the understanding of the functions of Hcy, Cys and GSH.

The carrier-based aircraft landing and arrest process is complex and nonlinear,and includes the coupling effect between the aircraft and arresting system.It has many uncertain factors,which lead to difficulty in the reliability analysis.To make the reliability analysis more accurate and effective,this paper presents some studies.Taking a certain type of carrier-based aircraft as the research object,a dynamic model of the landing and arrest cable was established,and the accuracy of the model was verified using laboratory test results.Based on the model,this paper shows how the key parameters,including the sinking velocity,pitch angle and horizontal velocity,affect the collision rebound performance of the arresting hook.After that,a limit state equation of the arresting hook system’s reliability was established.For the implicit limit state equation,a surrogate model of the reliability of the arresting hook was established using the Support Vector Machine(SVM)method,and then reliability analysis was carried out using the Monte Carlo method.Finally,it was explained in detail how the key parameters affect the reliability of the hook engaging the arresting cable,and some meaningful conclusions were obtained.This analysis method and its results can provide a reference for the top-level parameter design of carrier-based aircraft and reliability research on the arresting systems.

The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST) is the largest and most sensitive single-dish radio telescope in the world and has made many important scientific achievements in a few years. Given the enormous scientific research potential of the Milky Way center, it is necessary to enhance the observation zenith angle as close to the Milky Way center as possible. In this regard, a new mechanism for the feed cabin is proposed with cables and sliders, which is lighter in weight and larger in the workspace. This paper will introduce this new feed cabin and the whole feed support system and establish their mechanical models to optimize the relevant control parameters, making FAST achieve an observation zenith angle of at least 50°with satisfying the required constraints. It indicates that the new mechanism designed by the FAST team can be used for the FAST upgrade and the future FAST array project.

Crowd counting provides an important foundation for public security and urban management.Due to the existence of small targets and large density variations in crowd images,crowd counting is a challenging task.Mainstream methods usually apply convolution neural networks(CNNs)to regress a density map,which requires annotations of individual persons and counts.Weakly-supervised methods can avoid detailed labeling and only require counts as annotations of images,but existing methods fail to achieve satisfactory performance because a global perspective field and multi-level information are usually ignored.We propose a weakly-supervised method,DTCC,which effectively combines multi-level dilated convolution and transformer methods to realize end-to-end crowd counting.Its main components include a recursive swin transformer and a multi-level dilated convolution regression head.The recursive swin transformer combines a pyramid visual transformer with a fine-tuned recursive pyramid structure to capture deep multi-level crowd features,including global features.The multi-level dilated convolution regression head includes multi-level dilated convolution and a linear regression head for the feature extraction module.This module can capture both low-and high-level features simultaneously to enhance the receptive field.In addition,two regression head fusion mechanisms realize dynamic and mean fusion counting.Experiments on four well-known benchmark crowd counting datasets(UCF_CC_50,ShanghaiTech,UCF_QNRF,and JHU-Crowd++)show that DTCC achieves results superior to other weakly-supervised methods and comparable to fully-supervised methods.

In this study,we investigated electric explosion of iron wire in distilled water with different energy input adjusted by charging voltage.The as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),showing the presence of iron and multiple iron-based compounds oxides with contents influenced by the experimental conditions.In particular,pure FeO(OH)nanoparticles were obtained using electric explosion of iron wire with energy input of 1125 J at charging voltage of 15 kV.Analysis of discharge current and resistive voltage data indicate that the high energy input induced bystrong plasma discharge at high charging voltage is a key factor to form FeO(OH).This study presents a one-step method to synthesize FeO(OH)nanoparticles using electric explosion of iron wire.

Zn（OH）F microbesoms have been synthesized on a large scale by a facile solution-based method using polymer as crystal growth modifier. The obtained products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction （XRD）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）, and scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. The effects of modifier polyacryla- mide （PAM）, reaction time, concentrations of NaF on the morphology and size of the product were studied. The resuits revealed that the Zn（OH）F microbesom had orthorhombic structures. Experimental conditions had all influence on the shape and size of the final products, but polymer PAM played the key role in formation of the Zn（OH）F microbesom. Coastal Louisiana has the nation’s most fragile and valuable wetlands,whose loss represents 80% of the total losses in the United States.The severely restricted mobility of conventional shoreline protection structures makes them impossible to be redeployed.The Wave Suppression and Sediment Collection(WSSC) system is a novel technology of high mobility and compatible with existing shoreline protection technologies.Previous laboratory studies on WSSC showed great potential for wave reduction and sediment collection.The current study aimed to optimize the design parameters of WSSC using a validated computational model.A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model was developed and validated using experimental data from the previous laboratory study.Then,a parametric analysis was conducted with a focus on the performance optimization of wave reduction and sediment collection with respect to pipe diameter and face slope.Simulation results showed that the wave reduction efficiency decreased with increasing pipe diameter and face slope.In contrast,the sediment transport efficiency was enhanced by increasing pipe diameter but was not affected significantly by varying face slopes.
