Numerical Simulation of the Seismic Response of a Horizontal Storage Tank Based on a SPH-FEM Coupling Method

A coupled numerical calculation method combining smooth particle hydrodynamics(SPH)and the finite element method(FEM)was implemented to investigate the seismic response of horizontal storage *** of a horizontal storage tank featuring a free liquid surface under seismic action was constructed using the SPH–FEM coupling *** stored liquid was discretized using SPH particles,while the tank and supports were discretized using the *** interaction between the stored liquid and the tank was simulated by using the meshless particle contact ***,the numerical simulation results were compared and analyzed against seismic simulation shaking table test data to validate the ***,a series of numerical models,considering different liquid storage volumes and seismic effects,were constructed to obtain time history data of base shear and top center displacement,which revealed the seismic performance of horizontal storage *** simulation results and experimental data showed good agreement,with an error rate of less than 18.85%.And this conformity signifies the rationality of the SPH-FEM coupling *** base shear and top center displacement values obtained by the coupled SPH-FEM method were only 53.3% to 69.1% of those calculated by the equivalent mass method employed in the current *** the stored liquid volume increased,the seismic response of the horizontal storage tank exhibited a gradual upward trend,with the seismic response increasing from 73% to 388% for every 35% increase in stored liquid *** maximum von Mises stress of the tank and the supports remained below the steel yield strength during the *** coupled SPH-FEM method holds certain advantages in studying the seismic problems of tanks with complex structural forms,particularly due to the representation of the flow field distribution during earthquakes by involving reservoir fluid participation.

Covalent organic frameworks(COFs)-based nanoreactors have attracted broad interest in many fields due to their voidconfinement ***,the inherent drawback of conventional nanoreactors is the lack of internal active sites,which limits their widespread ***,we report the construction of hierarchical COF(EB-TFP)nanoreactor with pre-synthesized polyoxometalates(POM,[PV_(2)W_(10)O_(40)]^(5–)(PV_(2)W_(10)))clusters encapsulated inside of COF(POM@COF).PV_(2)W_(10)@EB-TFP anchors nucleophilic-group(Br–ions)and PV_(2)W_(10)anion cluster within the COF framework via electrostatic interactions,which not only simplifies the reaction system but also enhances catalytic *** reaction performance of the PV_(2)W_(10)@EB-TFP nanoreactor can be tuned to achieve excellent catalytic activity in CO_(2)cycloaddition reaction(CCR)for~97.63%conversion and~100%selectivity under visible light irradiation.A mechanistic study based on density functional theory(DFT)calculations and insitu characterization was also carried *** summary,we have reported a method for achieving the uniform dispersion of POM single clusters into COF nanoreactor,demonstrating the potential of POM@COF nanoreactor for synergistic photothermal catalytic CO_(2)cycloaddition.

Effects of cultivation of Osr HSA transgenic rice on functional diversity of microbial communities in the soil rhizosphere

With the widespread cultivation of transgenic crops, there is increasing concern about unintended effects of these crops on soil environmental quality. In this study, we used the Biolog method and ELISA to evaluate the possible effects of Osr HSA transgenic rice on soil microbial utilization of carbon substrates under field conditions. There were no significant differences in average well-color development(AWCD) values, Shannon–Wiener diversity index(H), Simpson dominance indices(D) and Shannon–Wiener evenness indices(E) of microbial communities in rhizosphere soils at eight samplings between Osr HSA transgenic rice and its non-transgenic counterpart. The main carbon sources utilized by soil microbes were carbohydrates, carboxylic acids, amino acids and polymers. The types,capacities and patterns of carbon source utilization by microbial communities in rhizosphere soils were similar throughout the detection period. We detected no Osr HSA protein in the roots of Osr HSA transgenic rice. We concluded that Osr HSA transgenic rice and the r HSA protein it produced did not alter the functional diversity of microbial communities in the rhizosphere.

Frequency Regulation of VSC-MTDC System with Offshore Wind Farms

Frequency regulation of voltage source converter-based multi-terminal high-voltage direct current(VSC-MTDC)system with offshore wind farms enhances the frequency stability by compensating the power for a disturbed AC ***,it is difficult to reasonably allocate frequency-regulation resources due to a lack of coordination mechanisms between wind farms and the MTDC ***,it is difficult for the frequency control of the wind farms to manage changes in wind speed;and the risk of wind-turbine stalls is ***,based on the kinetic energy of wind turbines and the power margin of the converters,the frequency-regulation capability of wind turbines is evaluated,and a dynamic frequency-support scheme considering the real-time frequency-support capability of the wind turbines and system frequency evolution is proposed to improve the frequency-support performance.A power adaptation technique at variable wind speeds is developed;the active power in the frequency-support stage and restoration stage is switched according to the wind speed.A hierarchical zoning frequency-regulation scheme is designed to use the frequency-regulation resources of different links in the MTDC system with wind *** simulation results show that the novel frequency-regulation strategy maintains frequency stability with wind-speed changes and avoids multiple frequency dips.
