Experimental investigation of the thermal insulation performance of Ce/Si/Ti oxide heat-reflective coating

To solve the problem of deformation and cracking of ballastless track slab under temperature load,a composite oxide and a series of heat-reflective coating samples were prepared.At the microscopic level,the elemental composition and optical properties of the materials prepared were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy,and the feasibility of Ce/Si/Ti oxide as functional fillers for heat-reflective coatings of track slabs was demonstrated.At the macro level,by designing and assembling an indoor sunlight simulation test device,the surface and internal temperatures of the coated and uncoated concrete specimens were analyzed and studied,and the macroscopic cooling effect of the coatings was evaluated.Also,to study the engineering application effect of the track slab thermal insulation reflective coating,COMSOL was used to build a 3D calculation model of the heat transfer deformation of the ballastless track slab structure.The research results showed that:Ce/Si/Ti oxide has strong reflectivity and can reflect 95%of infrared light;it has good ultraviolet(UV)shielding ability and can absorb more than 65%of the UV light.The TiO2 coating can reduce the temperature of the concrete surface by 6–11℃and that of the inside of the concrete by 10–14℃;the cooling effect decreases evenly with the increase of air temperature.The Ce/Si/Ti oxide coating can reduce the surface temperature of the concrete by 16℃and that of the inside of the concrete by 15℃.In addition,the cooling effect is basically not affected by the air temperature,and it changes non-linearly with the increase of the Ce/Si/Ti oxide content.Numerical calculation shows that the heat reflective coating can reduce the surface temperature and internal temperature difference of the track slab by 11.54–21.31℃,and the vertical displacement of the track slab can be reduced by about 35%–70%.Considering the cooling effect,the adhesion strength,and the engineering application effect of the coating,the optimal doping amount of C

The self-assembly of gold nanoparticles in large-pore ordered mesoporous carbons

Simple encapsulation of 3 nm gold nanoparticles in ordered mesoporous carbon with large pores of 17 nm and thick pore walls of 16 nm was achieved by a metal–ligand coordination assisted-selfassembly approach.Polystyrene-block-polyethylene-oxide(PS-b-PEO)diblock copolymer with a large molecular weight of the PS chain and mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane were used as the template and the metal ligand,respectively.Small-angle X-ray scattering,X-ray diffraction,transmission electron microscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy showed that monodispersed aggregation-free gold nanoparticles approximately 3 nm in size were partially embedded in the large open pore structure of the ordered mesoporous carbon.The strong coordination between the gold species and the mercapto groups and the thick porous walls increased the dispersion of the gold nanoparticles and essentially inhibited particle aggregation at 600℃.The gold nanoparticles in the ordered mesoporous carbon are active and stable in the reduction of nitroarenes involving bulky molecules using sodium borohydride as a reducing agent under ambient conditions(30℃)in water.The large interconnected pore structure facilitates the mass transfer of bulky molecules.

Treatment of coking wastewater by a novel electric assisted micro-electrolysis filter

A newly designed electric assisted micro-electrolysis filter（E-ME） was developed to investigate its degradation efficiency for coking wastewater and correlated characteristics. The performance of the E-ME system was compared with separate electrolysis（SE） and micro-electrolysis（ME） systems. The results showed a prominent synergistic effect on COD removal in E-ME systems. Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry（GC–MS） analysis confirmed that the applied electric field enhanced the degradation of phenolic compounds.Meanwhile, more biodegradable oxygen-bearing compounds were detected. SEM images of granular activated carbon（GAC） showed that inactivation and blocking were inhibited during the E-ME process. The effects of applied voltage and initial p H in E-ME systems were also studied. The best voltage value was 1 V, but synergistic effects existed even with lower applied voltage. E-ME systems exhibited some p H buffering capacity and attained the best efficiency in neutral media, which means that there is no need to adjust p H prior to or during the treatment process. Therefore, E-ME systems were confirmed as a promising technology for treatment of coking wastewater and other refractory wastewater.

Crystal structure,phase transitions,and thermodynamic properties of magnesium metavanadate(MgV_(2)O_(6))

As a promising anode material for magnesium ion rechargeable batteries,magnesium metavanadate(MgV_(2)O_(6))has attracted considerable research interest in recent years.A MgV_(2)O_(6)sample was synthesized via a facile solid-state reaction by multistep-firing stoichiometric mixtures of MgO and V2O5 powder under an air atmosphere.The solid-state phase transition fromα-MgV_(2)O_(6)toβ-MgV_(2)O_(6)occurred at 841 K and the enthalpy change was 4.37±0.04 kJ/mol.The endothermic effect at 1014 K and the enthalpy change was 26.54±0.26 kJ/mol,which is related to the incongruent melting ofβ-MgV_(2)O_(6).In situ XRD was performed to investigate phase transition of the as-prepared MgV_(2)O_(6)at high temperatures.The cell parameters obtained by Rietveld refinement indicated that it crystallizes in a monoclinic system with the C2/m space group,and the lattice parameters of a=9.280 A°,b=3.501 A°,c=6.731 A°,β=111.76°.The solid-state phase transition fromα-MgV_(2)O_(6)toβ-MgV_(2)O_(6)was further studied by thermal kinetics,indicating that this process is controlled first by a fibril-like mechanism and then by a spherulitic-type mechanism with an increasing heating rate.Additionally,the enthalpy change of MgV_(2)O_(6)at high temperatures was measured utilizing the drop calorimetry,heat capacity was calculated and given as:Cp=208.3+0.03583T-4809000T^(−2)(298-923 K)(J mol^(−1)K^(−1)),the high-temperature heat capacity can be used to calculate Gibbs free energy of MgV_(2)O_(6)at high temperatures.

Permanent lining castable with low bulk density and thermal conductivity:bauxite castable for tundish obtained by adding pearlescent sand

The low thermal conductivity and light mass of castables for tundish permanent linings are crucial for minimizing the heat loss of molten steel.In consideration of the low bulk density and thermal conductivity of pearlescent sand,the thermal insulation performance of castables was attempted to be improved by adding pearlescent sand.Pearlescent sand was modified to prevent the strength of its porous structure from deteriorating.The modification mechanism of pearlescent sand and the effect of pearlescent sand on the performance of bauxite castables were studied.The results suggested that the addition of the modified pearlescent sand significantly raised the apparent porosity and decreased the bulk density of bauxite castable.At 1000℃,the bulk density of more than 60%of the modified pearlescent sand-bauxite castable was only 2.03 g/cm^(3).The mechanical properties and thermal shock resistance of the modified pearlescent sand-bauxite castable were inferior to those of conventional bauxite castable but were adequate to meet the use conditions of casta-bles for tundish permanent linings.At high temperatures of 200-800℃,the thermal conductivity of more than 60%of the modified pearlescent sand-bauxite castable was smaller than that of conventional bauxite castable.The addition of the modified pearlescent sand can greatly reduce the thermal conductivity and bulk density of bauxite castable.

5-Substituted benzylidene 3-acylthiotetronic acids are antifungal.A series of 3-acylthiotetronic acid derivatives with varying substitutions at the 5-position were designed,synthesized,and characterized,based on the binding pose of 3-acyl thiolactone with the protein C171Q KasA.Fungicidal activities of these compounds were screened against Valsa Mali,Curvularia lunata,Fusarium graminearum,and Fusarium oxysporum f.***.lycopersici.Most target compounds exhibited excellent fungicidal activities against target fungi at the concentration of 50μg·mL-1.Compounds 11c and 11i displayed the highest activity with a broad spectrum.The median effective concentration(EC50)values of 11c and 11i were 1.9–10.7 and 3.1–7.8μg·mL-1,respectively,against the tested fungi,while the EC50 values of the fungicides azoxystrobin,carbendazim,and fluopyram were respectively 0.30,4.22,and>50μg·mL-1 against V.Mali;6.7,41.7,and 0.18μg·mL-1 against C.lunata;22.4,0.42,and 0.43μg·mL-1 against F.graminearum;and 4.3,0.12,and>50μg·mL-1 against F.oxysporum f.***.lycopersici.The structures and activities of the target compounds against C.lunata were analyzed to obtain a statistically significant comparative molecular field analysis(CoMFA)model with high prediction abilities(q2=0.9816,r2=0.8060),and its reliability was verified.The different substituents on the benzylidene at the 5-position had significant effects on the activity,while the introduction of a halogen atom at the benzene ring of benzylidene was able to improve the activity against the tested fungi.

Sparse labeling of neurons contributes to uncovering their morphology, and rapid expression of a fluorescent protein reduces the experiment range. To achieve the goal of rapid and sparse labeling of neurons in vivo, we established a rapid method for depicting the fine structure of neurons at 24 h post-infection based on a mutant viruslike particle of Semliki Forest virus. Approximately 0.014 fluorescent focus-forming units of the mutant virus-like particle transferred enhanced green fluorescent protein into neurons in vivo, and its affinity for neurons in vivo was stronger than for neurons in vitro and BHK21(baby hamster kidney) cells. Collectively, the mutant virus-likeparticle provides a robust and convenient way to reveal the fine structure of neurons and is expected to be a helper virus for combining with other tools to determine their connectivity. Our work adds a new tool to the approaches for rapid and sparse labeling of neurons in vivo.

Heavy Cycles in 2-connected Triangle-free Weighted Graphs

A weighted graph is one in which every edge e is assigned a nonnegative number, called the weight of e. The sum of the weights of the edges incident with a vertex v is called the weighted degree of v, denoted by dw（v）. The weight of a cycle is defined as the sum of the weights of its edges. Fujisawa proved that if G is a 2-connected triangle-free weighted graph such that the minimum weighted degree of G is at least d, then G contains a cycle of weight at least 2d. In this paper, we proved that if G is a 2-connected triangle-free weighted graph of even size such that dw（u）＋ dw（v） ≥ 2d holds for any pair of nonadjacent vertices u, v ∈ V（G）, then G contains a cycle of weight at least 2d.
