Fragmentation/disassembly of fiber-like micelles generated by living crystalline-driven self-assembly(CDsA)is usually encountered in aqueous media,which hinders the applications of ***,we report the generation of uniform fiber-like micelles consisting of a𝜋Л-conjugated oligo(p-phenylenevinylene)core and a crosslinking silica shell with grafted poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG)chains by the combination of living CDsA,silica chemistry and surface grafting-onto *** to the presence of crosslinking silica shell and the outmost PEG chains,the resulting micelles exhibit excellent dispersity and colloidal stability in PBs buffer,BsA aqueous solution and upon heating at 80℃ for 2 h without micellar fragmentation/*** micelles also show negligible cytotoxicity toward both HeLa cervical cancer and HEK239T human embryonic kidney cell ***,micelles with Ln of 156 nm show the“stealth”property with no significant uptake by HeLa cells,whereas some certain amounts of micelles with Ln of 535 nm can penetrate into HeLa cells,showing length-dependent cellular uptake *** results provide a route to prepare uniform,colloidally stable fiber-like nanostructures with tunable length and functions derived for biomedical applications.

Background:sand fly Phlebotomus chinensis is a principle vector for the visceral leishmaniasis(VL)in China with a wide geographic ***,sichuan is a mountain type endemic area of VL in *** term effective control efforts in the region have successfully reduced VL *** assess the current status of the sand flies and their ecological aspects in the region,a survey was conducted in the summer of 2014 and ***:sand fly specimens were collected by light traps in a village and blood sources were identified by PCR and sequencing of the mitochondrial cytochrome b ***:In a rock cave,65.2%–79.8%of collected sand flies were *** a rabbit farm,92.9%–98.8%of specimens were *** pig pens,61.1%of specimens were *** females had visible blood *** feeding rate was 49.4%from the pig pens,12.3%from the cave,and only 1.7%from the rabbit ***,rabbit,chicken,dog,and human blood were detected in the fed *** blood,present in all tested samples,was a preferred blood source,while chicken and dog blood were present in a third of the ***:In Jiuzhaigou County,sichuan Province of China,the considerable sandfly density and the peridomestic feeding behavior all increases the risk of VL transmission,and insecticide spraying in animal sheds could be exploited to reduce sand fly populations in human surroundings.

In this paper,the principal decomposition of the velocity gradient tensor[∇v]is discussed in 3 cases based on the discriminant∆:∆s,∆>0 with 3 distinct real eigen values,and∆=0 with 1 or 2 distinct real eigen *** velocity gradient tensor can also be classified as rotation point,which can be decomposed into three parts,i.e.,rotation[R],shear[s]and stretching/compression[sc],and non-rotation point,we defined a new resistance term[L],and the tensor can be decomposed into three parts,i.e.,resistance[L],shear[s]and stretching/compression[sc].Example matric are also displayed to demonstrate the new *** of principal decomposition between 3 different cases,and between Resistance and Liutex will also be discussed.

Novel casting processes for single-crystal turbine blades of superalloys

This paper presents a brief review of the current casting techniques for single-crystal （sc） blades, as well as an analysis of the solidification process in complex turbine blades. A series of novel casting methods based on the Bridgman process were presented to illustrate the development in the production of sc blades from super- alloys. The grain continuator and the heat conductor techniques were developed to remove geometry-related grain defects. In these techniques, the heat barrier that hinders lateral sc growth from the blade airfoil into the extremities of the platform is minimized. The parallel heating and cooling system was developed to achieve symmetric thermal conditions for sc solidification in blade clusters, thus considerably decreasing the negative shadow effect and its related defects in the current Bridgman process. The dipping and heaving technique, in which thin- shell molds are utilized, was developed to enable the establishment of a high temperature gradient for sc growth and the freckle-free solidification of superalloy castings. Moreover, by applying the targeted cooling and heating technique, a novel concept for the three-dimen- sional and precise control of sc growth, a proper thermal arrangement may be dynamically established for the microscopic control of sc growth in the critical areas of large industrial gas turbine blades.

Contemporaneous assembly of Western Gondwana and final Rodinia break-up:Implications for the supercontinent cycle

Geological,geochronological and isotopic data are integrated in order to present a revised model for the Neoproterozoic evolution of Western *** the classical geodynamic scenario assumed for the period 800-700 ma is related to Rodinia break-up and the consequent opening of major oceanic basins,a significantly different tectonic evolution can be inferred for most Western Gondwana *** cratons occupied a marginal position in the southern hemisphere with respect to Rodinia and recorded subduction with back-arc extension,island arc development and limited formation of oceanic crust in internal *** period was thus characterized by increased crustal growth in Western Gondwana,resulting from addition of juvenile continental crust along convergent *** contrast,crustal reworking and metacratonization were dominant during the subsequent assembly of *** Rio de la Plata,Congo-sao Francisco,West African and Amazonian cratons collided at ca.630-600 ma along the West Gondwana *** events overlap in time with the onset of the opening of the Iapetus Ocean at ca.610-600 ma,which gave rise to the separation of Baltica,Laurentia and Amazonia and resulted from the final Rodinia *** East African/Antarctic Orogen recorded the subsequent amalgamation of Western and Eastern Gondwana after ca.580 ma,contemporaneously with the beginning of subduction in the Terra Australis Orogen along the southern Gondwana ***,the Kalahari Craton was lately incorporated during the Late Ediacaran-Early *** proposed Gondwana evolution rules out the existence of Pannotia,as the final Gondwana amalgamation postdates latest connections between Laurentia and ***,a combination of introversion and extroversion is proposed for the assembly of *** contemporaneous record of final Rodinia break-up and Gondwana assembly has major implications for the supercontinent cycle,as supercontinent amalgamation and break-

Interaction between Neighboring supercritical Water Molecules and Density Fluctuation by Molecular Dynamics simulations

scRaMbLE drive application of synthetic yeast genome

The synthetic Yeast Genome Project (sc2.0) consortium has recently published a collection of seven reports on the development of synthetic Chromosome Rearrangement and Modification by LoxP-Mediated Evolution (scRaMbLE) system that set the stage for the application of synthetic yeast genome. scientists of synthetic genomics have worked on de novo genome synthesis from viruses, bacteria to eukaryote [1–12]. What can we do with these synthetic genomes? The JCVI-syn3.0 contains 473 genes with 531 kbp which minimized from 1079 kbp synthetic genome of Mycoplasma mycoides JCVI-syn1.0. This minimal bacterial genome will be a new platform for investigating the core function of cell [3]. The ***-57 project aims to synthetize a 3.97 Mbp 57-codon Escherichia coli genome which could produce a virus-resistant, biocontained bacterium for industrial applications, though only individually recoded segments were tested [4]. In a collection of seven papers [13–19], members of sc2.0 consortium answer the question with several new developed methods and strategies of synthetic yeast genome rearrangement, exhibiting the powerful applications of scRaMbLE to accelerate phenotypic evolution.

Evaluation of the applicability of multiple drought indices in the core zone of “westerlies-dominated climatic regime”

Drought indices are frequently used to measure the intensity,start and end of ***,the performances of these indices depend on regions and the type of ***,it is necessary to evaluate whether these indices are applicable for a given *** study evaluated the ability of the self-calibrating Palmer Drought severity Index(sc PDsI),the standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index(sPEI),and the standardized Moisture Anomaly Index(sZI) to describe the dry-wet conditions and drought events in the core zone of the “westerlies-dominated climatic regime”.The results showed that the 12-month sZI(sZI12) and sPEI(sPEI12) have good correlations with precipitation and PET respectively,while the sc PDsI can capture the changes in precipitation and soil *** Xinjiang region of China,the sZI12 and sc PDsI showed that this region gradually became wetter during 1961–2014,which was consistent with increased precipitation,decreased PET,and improved ***,the sPEI12 showed significant drying due to the strong influence of the PET,suggesting that this index exaggerated the drought conditions in this *** in Kazakhstan and the southern Central Asian regions has increased slightly over the past 50 years,but the PET has greatly increased,altogether,all three indices suggested a drying trend in Central *** evaluation of the ability of these drought indices to identify typical drought events in Xinjiang region of China suggested that the sc PDsI can better detect the typical drought events compared with the *** conclusion,the sc PDsI is the most suitable index for characterizing the long-term trend of hydroclimate conditions and drought events in the core zone of the “westerlies-dominated climatic regime”.This study provides a theoretical basis for the rational utilization and improvement of the drought index,which is critical for monitoring,attributing,and predicting of drought events in arid areas.

Enhanced properties of stone coal-based composite phase change materials for thermal energy storage

Phase change materials (PCMs) can be incorporated with low-cost minerals to synthesize composites for thermal energy storage in building *** coal (sc) after vanadium extraction treatment shows potential for secondary utilization in composite *** prepared sc-based composite PCMs with sc as a matrix,stearic acid (sA) as a PCM,and expanded graphite (EG) as an *** combined roasting and acid leaching treatment of raw sc was conducted to understand the effect of vanadium extraction on promoting loading *** showed that the combined treatment of roasting at 900℃ and leaching increased the sc loading of the composite by 6.2%by improving the specific surface *** loading capacity and thermal conductivity of the composite obviously increased by 127%and 48.19%,respectively,due to the contribution of 3wt% *** data were supported by the high load of 66.69%and thermal conductivity of 0.59 W·m^(-1)·K-1of the designed *** obtained composite exhibited a phase change temperature of 52.17℃,melting latent heat of 121.5 J·g^(-1),and good chemical *** sc-based composite has prospects in building applications exploiting the secondary utilization of minerals.
