Magmatic Evolution of Garnet-Bearing highly Fractionated Granitic Rocks from Macao,southeast China:Implications for Granite-Related Mineralization Processes

The widespread W-(Mo)-sn-Nb-Ta polymetallic mineralization in southeast(sE)China is genetically associated with Mesozoic highly fractionated granitic *** rocks have enigmatic mineralogical and geochemical features,making its petrogenesis an intensely debated *** better understand the underlying magma evolution processes,petrography,garnet chemistry and whole-rock major and trace element data are reported for Jurassic highly fractionated granitic rocks and associated microgranite and aplitepegmatite dikes from Macao and compared with coeval similar granitic rocks from nearby areas in sE *** the fact that the most evolved rocks in Macao are garnet-bearing aplite-pegmatite dikes,the existence of coeval two-mica and garnet-bearing biotite and muscovite granites displaying more evolved compositions(e.g.,lower Zr/Hf ratios)indicates that the differentiation sequence reached higher degrees of fractionation at a regional *** crystal fractionation played an important role,late-stage fluid/melt interactions,involving F-rich fluids,imparted specific geochemical characteristics to Macao and sE China highly fractionated granitic rocks such as the non-CHARAC(CHArge-and-RAdius-Controlled)behavior of trace elements,leading,for example,to non-chondritic Zr/Hf ratios,Rare Earth Elements(REE)tetrad effects and Nb-Ta enrichment and *** process contributed to the late-stage crystallization of accessory phases only found in these highly evolved *** the latter,two populations of garnet were identified in MGI(Macao GroupⅠ)highly fractionated granitic rocks:small grossular-poor euhedral grains and large grossular-rich skeletal garnet grains with quartz *** first group was mainly formed through precipitation from highly evolved Mn-rich slightly peraluminous melts under low-pressure and relatively low temperature(~700℃)*** of upper crust metasedimentary materials may have contributed as a source of Mn and

six new high precision U-Pb zircon ID-TIMs ages plus thirteen in situ high spatial resolution U-Pb zircon LA-MC-ICPMs ages are reported from Jurassic plutonic(metaluminous to weakly peraluminous biotite granites)and Jurassic to Cretaceous hypabyssal(dacites)rocks from *** its relatively small area(~30 km^2),the new ages tightly constrain the Macao granitic magmatism to two periods ranging from 164.5±0.6 Ma to 162.9±0.7 Ma and 156.6±0.2 Ma to 155.5±0.8 Ma,separated by ca.6 *** zircons point to the existence of a basement with ages up to Paleo-Proterozoic and late Archean in the *** addition,younger dacitic rocks were dated at 150.6±0.6 Ma ands and whole-rock REE data of Macao granites indicate that the first pulse is also represented in Hong Kong and southeast(sE)China,while magmatism with the chemical characteristics of the second pulse seems to not be represented outside *** two granitic magmatic pulses have distinct mineralogical and geochemical features that support their discrete nature rather than a continuum of comagmatic activity and suggest that the Macao granitic suite was incrementally assembled during a period of ca.9 Ma,a hypothesis also extendable to the neighboring Hong Kong region for a time lapse of ca.24 *** Macao,the transition from granitic magmatism(Middle to Upper Jurassic)to the younger dacite dykes(Upper Jurassic to Lower Cretaceous)most likely corresponds to a change in the regional tectonic setting,from an extensional regime related with foundering of the subducting paleoPacific plate during the Early Yanshanian period to the reestablishment of a normal subduction system in sE China during the Late Yanshanian period.

The increasing integration of renewable energy sources into current power systems has posed the challenge of adequately representing the statistical properties associated with their variable power generation. In this paper, a novel procedure is proposed to select a proper synthetic time series generation model for renewable energy sources to analyze power system problems. The procedure takes advantage of the objective of the specific analysis to be performed and the statistical characteristics of the available time series. The aim is to determine the suitable model to be used for generating synthetic time series of renewable energy sources. A set of indicators is proposed to verify that the statistical properties of synthetic time series fit the statistical properties of the original data. The proposal can be integrated into systematic tools available for data analysis without compromising the representation of the statistical properties of the original time series. The procedure is tested using real data from the New Zealand power system in a mid-term analysis on integrating wind power plants into the power system. The results show that the proposed procedure reduces the error obtained in analyzing power systems compared with reference models.

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a major health problem that leads to chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma, being the most frequent indication for liver transplantation in several countries. Unfortunately, HCV re-infects the liver graft almost invariably following reperfusion, with an accelerated history of recurrence, leading to 10%-30% of patients progressing to cirrhosis within 5 years of transplantation. In this sense, some groups have even advocated for not retransplanting this patients, as lower patient and graftoutcomes have been reported. However, the management of HCV recurrence is being optimized and several strategies to reduce post-transplant recurrence could improve outcomes, decrease the rate of re-transplantation and optimize the use of available grafts. Three moments may be the focus of potential actions in order to decrease the impact of viral recurrence: the pretransplant moment, the transplant environment and the post-transplant management. In the pre-transplant setting, it is not well established if reducing the pre transplant viral load affects the risk for HCV progression after transplant. Obviously, antiviral treatment can render the patient HCV RNA negative post transplant but the long-term benefit has not yet been fully established to justify the cost and clinical risk. In the transplant moment, factors as donor age, cold ischemia time, graft steatosis and ischemia/reperfusion injury may lead to a higher and more aggressive viral recurrence. After the transplant, discussion about immunosuppression and the moment to start the treatment (prophylactic, pre-emptive or once-confirmed) together with new antiviral drugs are of interest. This review aims to help clinicians have a global overview of posttransplant HCV recurrence and strategies to reduce its impact on our patients.

Plant communities are shaped by multiple factors along environmental gradients;however,studies are limited on how environmental filtering drives community composition and species richness on tropical *** evaluate the influence of altitude and climatic variables related to temperature and precipitation on plant community composition and species richness on Brazilian *** assume as a premise that both climate and altitude would induce changes on plant community composition and species richness at the local *** used plant inventory data from 370 sampling units across four inselberg sites in the Atlantic Forest of Espírito santo state,south-eastern *** tested the univariate and multivariate effects of altitude and climate variables on community composition and species richness with multiple *** in species richness between inselbergs were evaluated using sample-based data to estimate rarefaction and extrapolation *** addition,differences in species composition and taxonomic beta diversity were examined via novel frequency-based metrics.A contrasting climate pattern was observed between the inselberg sites,with south sites being wet compared to the dry conditions found in northern *** richness by rarefaction showed a similar pattern within regional sites;however,there were marked differences between *** richness and beta diversity showed significant differences among sites,with higher values in southern sites than in northern *** a multi-model comparison between inselberg sites,altitude significantly influenced community composition and species richness and explained more variance than climate *** finding suggested that climate could act to some extent on these tropical inselbergs;however,altitude was a better predictor of plant community composition and species richness at the local level.

对由大坝、坝基、水库和大坝下游区域组成的系统,应从结构、水力、运行和环境等方面评价其系统安全性。尤其是对已建大坝的结构安全评价应以建立主荷载、结构性能和结构响应之间的相关性为基础。将观测到的响应值与基于结构性态模型或历史观测数据得到的预测值进行比较。多年来,技术设备方面的新进展即自动数据采集系统的采用不断被引入这一领域。伴随信息系统技术的重要发展,这一变化面临着新的挑战,但同时也提供了新的机遇,如数据管理系统的开发,可使大坝安全管理人员尽快访问数据、解读信息并做出决策。葡萄牙国家土木工程实验室(National Laboratory for Civil Engineering,LNEC)开发了GestBarragens系统,该系统采用模块化方法设计和开发,基于Web界面访问公共数据架构。笔者旨在介绍GestBarragens系统如何优化针对100余座大型混凝土坝和土石坝开展的大坝安全控制相关的活动,包括通过监测系统对某些物理量进行观测、信息的解读和向负责大坝安全的实体组织传达预警信息。由于GestBarragens系统的开发是一个不断演进的过程,笔者还将讨论未来的开发。
