This work reports the growth and characterization of p-AlInn layers doped with Mg by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy(PAMBE).AlInn was grown with an Al molar fraction of 0.80 by metal-modulated epitaxy(MME)with a thickness of 180 nm on Si(111)substrates using Aln as buffer *** substrate temperatures were used to enhance the incorporation of indium atoms into the alloy without clustering,as confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD).Cathodoluminescence measurements revealed ultraviolet(UV)range ***,Hall effect measurements indicated a maximum hole mobility of 146 cm^(2)/(V∙s),corresponding to a free hole concentration of 1.23×10^(19)cm^(−3).The samples were analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)estimating the alloy composition and extracting the Fermi level by valence band ***-doped AlInn layers were studied for use as the electron-blocking layer(EBl)in lED *** varied the Al composition in the EBl from 0.84 to 0.96 molar fraction to assess its theoretical effects on electroluminescence,carrier concentration,and electric field,using SIlVACO *** results from this study highlight the importance and capability of producing high-quality Mg-doped p-AlInn layers through *** simulations suggest that an Al content of 0.86 is optimal for achieving desired outcomes in electroluminescence,carrier concentration,and electric field.

Background nursery pigs undergo stressors in the post-weaning period that result in production and welfare *** challenges disproportionately impact the offspring of primiparous sows compared to those of mul-tiparous *** is known regarding potential interactions between parity and feed additives in the post-weaning period and their effects on nursery pig ***,the objective of this study was to investigate the effects of maternal parity on sow and offspring microbiomes and the influence of sow parity on pig fecal microbi-ome and performance in response to a prebiotic *** weaning,piglets were allotted into three treat-ment groups:a standard nursery diet including pharmacological doses of Zn and Cu(Con),a group fed a commercial prebiotic only(Preb)based on an Aspergillus oryzae fermentation extract,and a group fed the same prebiotic plus Zn and Cu(Preb+ZnCu).Results Although there were no differences in vaginal microbiome composition between primiparous and mul-tiparous sows,fecal microbiome composition was different(R^(2)=0.02,P=0.03).The fecal microbiomes of primiparous offspring displayed significantly higher bacterial diversity compared to multiparous offspring at d 0 and d 21 post-weaning(Pnces in community composition observed at d 21(R^(2)=0.03,P=0.04).When analyzing the effects of maternal parity within each treatment,only the Preb diet triggered significant microbiome distinc-tions between primiparous and multiparous offspring(d 21:R^(2)=0.13,P=0.01;d 42:R^(2)=0.19,P=0.001).Composi-tional differences in pig fecal microbiomes between treatments were observed only at d 21(R^(2)=0.12,P=0.001).Pigs in the Con group gained significantly more weight throughout the nursery period when compared to those in the Preb+ZnCu *** nursery pig gut microbiome composition was influenced by supplementation with an Aspergillus oryzae fermentation extract,with varying effects on performance

Gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)is defined by recurrent and troublesome heartburn and effortless regurgitation or by the specific complications of this condition—that is,esophagitis,esophageal peptic strictures,and Barrett esophagus.1Although GERD is caused by gastric contents'reaching the esophagus,gastric juices can also reach other anatomical locations(pharynx,mouth,larynx,and airways),leading to(or worsening)extra-esophageal conditions(notably asthma)or symptoms(e.g.,wheezing,cough).1 Together with obesity,GERD is the main risk factor for gastroesophageal malignancies.

Cloud computing is a dynamic and rapidly evolving field,where the demand for resources fluctuates *** paper delves into the imperative need for adaptability in the allocation of resources to applications and services within cloud computing *** motivation stems from the pressing issue of accommodating fluctuating levels of user demand *** adhering to the proposed resource allocation method,we aim to achieve a substantial reduction in energy *** reduction hinges on the precise and efficient allocation of resources to the tasks that require those most,aligning with the broader goal of sustainable and eco-friendly cloud computing *** enhance the resource allocation process,we introduce a novel knowledge-based optimization *** this study,we rigorously evaluate its efficacy by comparing it to existing algorithms,including the Flower Pollination Algorithm(FPA),Spark lion Whale Optimization(SlWO),and Firefly *** findings reveal that our proposed algorithm,Knowledge Based Flower Pollination Algorithm(KB-FPA),consistently outperforms these conventional methods in both resource allocation efficiency and energy consumption *** paper underscores the profound significance of resource allocation in the realm of cloud *** addressing the critical issue of adaptability and energy efficiency,it lays the groundwork for a more sustainable future in cloud computing *** contribution to the field lies in the introduction of a new resource allocation strategy,offering the potential for significantly improved efficiency and sustainability within cloud computing infrastructures.

High-speed railway bridges are subjected to normative limitations concerning maximum permissible deck *** the design of these structures,the European norm En 1991-2 introduces the high-speed load model(HSlM)—a set of point loads intended to include the effects of existing high-speed ***,the evolution of current trains and the recent development of new load models motivate a discussion regarding the limits of validity of the *** this study,a large number of randomly generated load models of articulated,conventional,and regular trains are tested and compared with the envelope of HSlM *** each type of train,two sets of 100,000 load models are considered:one abiding by the limits of the En 1991-2 and another considering wider *** comparison is achieved using both a bridge-independent metric(train signatures)and dynamic analyses on a case study bridge(the Canelas bridge of the Portuguese Railway network).For the latter,a methodology to decrease the computational cost of moving loads analysis is *** show that some theoretical load models constructed within the stipulated limits of the norm can lead to effects not covered by the *** is especially noted in conventional trains,where there is a relation with larger distances between centres of adjacent vehicle bogies.

Thin-walled aerostructural components frequently get distorted after the machining *** to correct distortions or eventually rejecting parts significantly increases the *** paper proposes a new approach to correct distortions in thin-walled components by strategically applying hammer peening on target surfaces of a machined *** alloy 7475-T7351 was chosen for this *** study was divided in two ***,the residual stresses(RS)induced by four different pneumatic hammer peening conditions(modifying the stepover distance and initial offset)were characterised in a test coupon,and one of the conditions was selected for the next *** the second stage,a FEM model was used to predict distortions caused by machining in a representative ***,the RS induced by hammer peening were included in an FEM model to define two hammer peening strategies(varying the coverage area)to analyse the capability to reduce *** workpieces were machined and then treated with the simulated hammer peening strategies for experimental *** in the test coupon showed that pneumatic hammer peening can generate high compressive RS(-50 to350 MPa)up to 800 lm depth,with their magnitude increasing with a reduced stepover *** of hammer peening over 4% of the surface of the representative workpiece reduced the machininginduced distortions by 37%,and a coverage area of 100% led to and overcorrection by a factor of *** confirms that hammer peening can be strategically applied(in target areas and changing the percentage of coverage)to correct low or severe distortions.
