Interactions between maternal parity and feed additives drive the composition of pig gut microbiomes in the post‑weaning period

Background Nursery pigs undergo stressors in the post-weaning period that result in production and welfare chal-lenges.These challenges disproportionately impact the offspring of primiparous sows compared to those of mul-tiparous counterparts.Little is known regarding potential interactions between parity and feed additives in the post-weaning period and their effects on nursery pig microbiomes.Therefore,the objective of this study was to investigate the effects of maternal parity on sow and offspring microbiomes and the influence of sow parity on pig fecal microbi-ome and performance in response to a prebiotic post-weaning.At weaning,piglets were allotted into three treat-ment groups:a standard nursery diet including pharmacological doses of Zn and Cu(Con),a group fed a commercial prebiotic only(Preb)based on an Aspergillus oryzae fermentation extract,and a group fed the same prebiotic plus Zn and Cu(Preb+ZnCu).Results Although there were no differences in vaginal microbiome composition between primiparous and mul-tiparous sows,fecal microbiome composition was different(R^(2)=0.02,P=0.03).The fecal microbiomes of primiparous offspring displayed significantly higher bacterial diversity compared to multiparous offspring at d 0 and d 21 post-weaning(P<0.01),with differences in community composition observed at d 21(R^(2)=0.03,P=0.04).When analyzing the effects of maternal parity within each treatment,only the Preb diet triggered significant microbiome distinc-tions between primiparous and multiparous offspring(d 21:R^(2)=0.13,P=0.01;d 42:R^(2)=0.19,P=0.001).Composi-tional differences in pig fecal microbiomes between treatments were observed only at d 21(R^(2)=0.12,P=0.001).Pigs in the Con group gained significantly more weight throughout the nursery period when compared to those in the Preb+ZnCu group.Conclusions Nursery pig gut microbiome composition was influenced by supplementation with an Aspergillus oryzae fermentation extract,with varying effects on performance when combined with pharmacological levels of Zn

In recent decades, data-driven landslide susceptibility models(Dd LSM), which are based on statistical or machine learning approaches, have become popular to estimate the relative spatial probability of landslide occurrence. The available literature is composed of a wealth of published studies and that has identified a large variety of challenges and innovations in this field. This review presents a comprehensive up-to-date overview focusing on the topic of Dd LSM. This research begins with an introduction of the theoretical aspects of Dd LSM research and is followed by an in-depth bibliometric analysis of 2585 publications. This analysis is based on the Web of Science, Clarivate Analytics database and provides insights into the transient characteristics and research trends within published spatial landslide assessments. Following the bibliometric analysis, a more detailed review of the most recent publications from 1985 to 2020 is given. A variety of different criteria are explored in detail, including research design, study area extent,inventory characteristics, classification algorithms, predictors utilized, and validation technique performed. This section, dealing with a quantitativeoriented review expands the time-frame of the review publication done by Reichenbach et al. in 2018 by also accounting for the four years, 2017-2020. The originality of this research is acknowledged by combining together:(a) a recap of important theoretical aspects of Dd LSM;(b) a bibliometric analysis on the topic;(c) a quantitative-oriented review of relevant publications;and(d) a systematic summary of the findings, indicating important aspects and potential developments related to the Dd LSM research topic. The results show that Dd LSM are used within a wide range of applications with study area extents ranging from a few kilometers to national and even continental scales. In the solar energy systems the solar irradiance variation is partially engaged, limiting the converter’s transformation rate for a certain input amount and leaving the rest of energy unconverted. In order to utilize at its maximum the energy provided from a Photovoltaic(PVP) system, this manuscript proposed a topology that can cope with marginal input voltage variations from 60V(DC) up to 1050V(DC) for a steady output voltage of 700V(DC). This output voltage value is suitable for any interlink post-regulation architecture. Based on previous observations, this paper presents a wide-input voltage high-efficiency non-isolated single-control topology. Analysis, operating stages, simulations and experimental results for a 3k W prototype are presented.

Meteorological drought has been an inevitable natural disaster throughout Mexican history and the northern and northwestern parts of Mexico（i.e., the studied area）, where the mean annual precipitation（MAP） is less than 500 mm, have suffered even more from droughts in the past. The aim of this study was to conduct a meteorological drought analysis of the available MAP data（1950–2013） from 649 meteorological stations selected from the studied area and to predict the drought features under the different IPCC-prescribed climate change scenarios. To determine the long-term drought features, we collected 1×10~4 synthetic samples using the periodic autoregressive moving average（PARMA） model for each rainfall series. The simulations first consider the present prevailing precipitation conditions（i.e., the average from 1950 to 2013） and then the precipitation anomalies under IPCC-prescribed RCP 4.5 scenario and RCP 8.5 scenario. The results indicated that the climate changes under the prescribed scenarios would significantly increase the duration and intensity of droughts. The most severe impacts may occur in the central plateau and in the Baja California Peninsula. Thus, it will be necessary to establish adequate protective measures for the sustainable management of water resources in these regions.

BACKGROUND The inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor(IMT)is a rare mesenquimal tumor of doubtful biological behaviour.It’s characterised for affecting mainly children and young adults,although it can appear at any age,being the lungs the primary affected organ(in children it represents 20%of all primary pulmonary tumors).CASE SUMMARY We present the case of a 45 year old woman,with a computed tomography(CT)finding of injury on the anterior surface of the fundus/gastric body and a solid perigastric injury of 12 mm in the ecoendoscopy.The case is presented in the tumor committee deciding to perform a laparoscopic wedge resection.The histological diagnosis was a IMT.The diagnosis is based on imaging tests like the abdominal CT,abdominal ecography and the ecoendoscopy but to confirm the diagnosis a pathological study is necessary.CONCLUSION Due to the unpredictable nature of this tumor,surgical resection is the best therapeutic option.

For a bipartite graph G on m and n vertices, respectively, in its vertices classes, and for integers s andt such that 2≤ s ≤ t, 0≤ m-s ≤ n-t, andre＋n≤ 2s＋t-1, we prove that if G has at least mn- （2（m - s）＋ n - t） edges then it contains a subdivision of the complete bipartite K（s,t） with s vertices in the m-class and t vertices in the n-class. Furthermore, we characterize the corresponding extremal bipartite graphs with mn- （2（m - s）＋ n - t ＋ 1） edges for this topological Turan type problem.

Aluminum is an abundant metal in the earth’s crust that turns out to be toxic in acidic environments.Many plants are affected by the presence of aluminum at the whole plant level,at the organ level,and at the cellular level.Tobacco as a cash crop(Nicotiana tabacum L.)is a widely cultivated plant worldwide and is also a good model organism for research.Although there are many articles on Al-phytotoxicity in the literature,reviews on a single species that are economically and scientifically important are limited.In this article,we not only provide the biology associated with tobacco Al-toxicity,but also some essential information regarding the effects of this metal on other plant species(even animals).This review provides information on aluminum localization and uptake process by different staining techniques,as well as the effects of its toxicity at different compartment levels and the physiological consequences derived from them.In addition,molecular studies in recent years have reported specific responses to Al toxicity,such as overexpression of various protective proteins.Besides,this review discusses data on various organelle-based responses,cell death,and other mechanisms,data on tobacco plants and other kingdoms relevant to these studies.
