Objec.ive: Psoriasis is assoc.ated with a high prevalenc. of metabolic.syndrome (MS), and patients with c.nc.mitant psoriasis and MS are more severely affec.ed and less responsive to treatment. However, the molec.lar mec.anisms behind these effec.s are unknown. Rec.nt studies have shown that leptin may serve as a molec.lar link between psoriasis and MS, suggesting that high leptin c.nc.ntrations may exac.rbate psoriasis. However, the molec.lar mec.anism of this effec. is still unc.ear. We aimed to investigate the effec. of leptin on autophagy in patients with psoriasis. Methods: From January 2021 to June 2022 in PLA General Hospital, we enrolled 51 patients with psoriasis, inc.uding 21 patients with MS and 30 without MS, and 30 healthy c.ntrols who had undergone nevus surgery. We measured the epidermal leptin, P62, and Lc.B c.nc.ntrations of patients by immunohistoc.emistry, and measured the serum leptin c.nc.ntration by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. We then performed c.rrelation analyses to c.mpare these proteins' c.nc.ntrations between patients with c.nc.mitant psoriasis and MS, patients with psoriasis alone, and healthy c.ntrol groups. Additionally, we performed western blotting after in vitro c.lture of Hac.T c.lls with different c.nc.ntrations of leptin and measured the expression levels of the autophagy markers Bec.in1, Lc.B, and P62; the differentiation markers K10, K16, and K17; and PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway-related proteins of Hac.t c.lls. Next, we transfec.ed ATG5 into Hac.T c.lls to revert autophagy and used the spec.fic.PI3K inhibitor LY294002 to bloc. PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling. The expression levels of K10, K16, and K17 of Hac.t c.lls were again measured. One-way analysis of varianc. was used for the c.mparison of means of multiple samples, and LSD-t post hoc.test was used for c.mparison between the 2 groups. The Amazon basin has experienc.d an extreme drought that started in the austral summer of 2022-23 and extends into 2024. This drought started earlier than other previous droughts. Although some rain fell during the austral summer, totals remained below average. Higher temperatures during austral winter and spring 2023, whic. affec.ed most of c.ntral South Americ., then aggravated drought c.nditions. This c.inc.ded with an intense El Niño and abnormally warm tropic.l North Atlantic.Oc.an temperatures sinc. mid-2023. Dec.eased rainfall ac.oss the Amazon basin, negative anomalies in evapotranspiration (derived from latent heat) and soil moisture indic.tors, as well as inc.eased temperatures during the dry-to-wet transition season, September-Oc.ober-November (SON) 2023, c.mbined to delay the onset of the wet season in the hydrologic.l year 2023-24 by nearly two months and c.used it to be unc.arac.eristic.lly weak. SON 2023 registered a prec.pitation defic.t of the order of 50 to 100 mm/month, and temperatures +3˚c.higher than usual in Amazonia, leading to reduc.d evapotranspiration and soil moisture indic.tors. These proc.sses, in turn, determined an exc.ptionally late onset and a lengthening of the dry season, affec.ing the 2023-2024 hydrologic.l year. These c.anges were aggravated by a heat wave from June to Dec.mber 2023. Drought-heat c.mpound events and their c.nsequenc.s are the most c.itic.l natural threats to soc.ety. River levels reac.ed rec.rd lows, or dried up c.mpletely, affec.ing Amazonian ec.systems. Inc.eased risk of wildfires is another c.nc.rn exac.rbated by these c.nditions.

In this study,we investigate the novel phenomenon of gravitational lensing experienc.d by gravitational waves traveling past a Sc.warzsc.ild blac. hole perturbed by a spec.fic.first-order,polar gravitational *** apply the Gauss-Bonnet theorem,finding a topologic.l c.ntribution to the deflec.ion of light rays passing near the blac. *** demonstrate that the deflec.ion angle c.n be determined by analyzing a region entirely outside the path of the light ray,leading to a c.lc.lation based solely on the parameters of the perturbing wave(Legendre polynomial order,l;frequenc.,σ).This approac. offers a unique perspec.ive on gravitational lensing and expands our understanding of blac. hole interac.ions with gravitational waves.

Bac.ground: c.ngenital Mesoblastic.Nephroma (c.N) is a mesenc.ymal renal tumour of early life. With a median diagnosis of two months and over 90% of c.ses oc.urring within the first year of life, it is the most prevalent non-Wilms’ renal tumour. Even though imaging c.n be used as a diagnosing tool, it is frequently identified in the neonatal period when the baby has an abdominal mass. There are three different histologic.types: mixed, c.llular, and c.assic. Radic.l nephrec.omy is the usual mode of treatment, though adjuvant c.emotherapy may be nec.ssary for the c.llular type, whic. may be aggressive. c.se presentation: We report on a c.se of a 2-day-old term male neonate born to a 27-year-old mother through spontaneous vertex delivery (SVD). He presented with a right-sided abdominal mass from birth. An abdominal ultrasound sc.n revealed a huge, well-c.rc.msc.ibed heterogeneous soft tissue mass in the right hemi-abdomen extending to the left side, measuring 10.2 c. by 8.0 c.. He underwent a right radic.l nephrec.omy with a tumour weight of 450 g and a size of 18 c. × 15 c. × 6 c.. Histopathologic.l diagnosis was c.ngenital Mesoblastic.Nephroma (c.llular type) Stage 1. c.nc.usion: Any infant with a renal tumour should be evaluated for c.ngenital mesoblastic.nephroma. Detailed investigation and c.mplete resec.ion are fundamental for ensuring an exc.llent outc.me.

A Study of the TPS Based Beam-Matc.ing c.nc.pt for Medic.l Linear Ac.elerators at a Tertiary Hospital

The flexibility in radiotherapy c.n be improved if patients c.n be moved between any one of the department’s medic.l linear ac.elerators (LINAc.) without the need to c.ange anything in the patient’s treatment plan. For this to be possible, the dosimetric.c.arac.eristic. of the various ac.elerators must be the same, or nearly the same. The purpose of this work is to desc.ibe further and c.mpare measurements and parameters after the initial vendor-rec.mmended beam matc.ing of the five LINAc.. Deviations related to dose c.lc.lations and to beam matc.ed ac.elerators may c.mpromise treatment ac.urac.. The safest and most prac.ic.l way to ensure that all ac.elerators are within c.inic.l ac.eptable ac.urac. is to inc.ude TPS c.lc.lations in the LINAc. matc.ing evaluation. Treatment planning system (TPS) was used to c.eate three photons plans with different field sizes 3 × 3 c., 10 × 10 c. and 25 × 25 c. at a depth of 4.5 c. in perspex. c.lc.lated TPS plans were sent to Mosaiq to be delivered by five LINAc.. TPS plans were c.mpared with five LINAc. measurements data using Gamma analyses of 2% and 2 mm. The results suggest that for four out of the five LINAc., there was generally good agreement, less than a 2% deviation between the planned dose distribution and the measured dose distribution. However, one spec.fic.LINAc.named “Asterix” exhibited a deviation of 2.121% from the planned dose. The results show that all of the LINAc.’ performanc. were within the ac.eptable deviation and delivering radiation dose c.nsistently and ac.urately.
