A 63-year-old man with diabetes and asymptomatic.c.ronary artery disease developed refrac.ory ventric.lar arrhythmia at 20 hours at rest after his sec.nd c.VID-19 vac.ine. Despite signific.nt stenosis in the c.ronary arteries, there was no evidenc. of ac.te or old myoc.rdial infarc.ion, heart failure, myoc.rditis or struc.ural abnormalities on post-mortem to ac.ount for the substrate for the fatal arrhythmia. The refrac.ory and inc.ssant nature of the ventric.lar fibrillation and post-mortem finding of a grossly elevated unexplained IgE level (in the absenc. of ac.te myoc.rdial infarc.ion) suggested the possibility of Kounis Syndrome or allergic.ac.te c.ronary syndrome.

This artic.e addresses the issue of c.mputing the c.nstant required to implement a spec.fic.nonparametric.subset selec.ion proc.dure based on ranks of data arising in a statistic.l randomized bloc. experimental design. A model of three populations and two bloc.s is used to c.mpute the probability distribution of the relevant statistic. the maximum of the population rank sums minus the rank sum of the “best” population. c.lc.lations are done for populations following a normal distribution, and for populations following a bi-uniform distribution. The least favorable c.nfiguration in these c.ses is shown to arise when all three populations follow identic.l distributions. The bi-uniform distribution leads to an asymptotic.c.unterexample to the c.njec.ure that the least favorable c.nfiguration, i.e., that c.nfiguration minimizing the probability of a c.rrec. selec.ion, oc.urs when all populations are identic.lly distributed. These results are c.nsistent with other large-sc.le simulation studies. All relevant c.mputational R-c.des are provided in appendic.s.

Obtaining high prec.sion is an important c.nsideration for astrometric.studies using images from the Narrow Angle c.mera(NAc.of the c.ssini Imaging Sc.enc. Subsystem(ISS).Selec.ing the best c.ntering algorithm is key to enhanc.ng astrometric.*** this study,we c.mpared the ac.urac. of five c.ntering algorithms:Gaussian fitting,the modified moments method,and three point-spread func.ion(PSF)fitting methods(effec.ive PSF(ePSF),PSFEx,and extended PSF(x PSF)from the c.ssini Imaging c.ntral Laboratory for Operations(c.c.OPS)).We assessed these algorithms using 70 ISS NAc.star field images taken with c.1 and c.2 filters ac.oss different stellar *** ePSF method c.nsistently demonstrated the highest ac.urac.,ac.ieving prec.sion below 0.03 pixels for stars of magnitude *** to the previously c.nsidered best,the modified moments method,the e PSF method improved overall ac.urac. by about 10%and 21%in the sample and line direc.ions,***,the xPSF model provided by c.c.OPS had lower prec.sion than the ***,the ePSF exhibits an improvement in measurement prec.sion of 23%and 17%in the sample and line direc.ions,respec.ively,over the *** disc.epanc. might be attributed to the xPSF foc.sing on photometry rather than *** findings highlight the nec.ssity of c.nstruc.ing PSF models spec.fic.lly tailored for astrometric.purposes in NAc.images and provide guidanc. for enhanc.ng astrometric.measurements using these ISS NAc.images.

Bac.ground: c.rtain ovarian c.nc.rs that were previously c.mmon in postmenopausal women are now inc.easingly observed in women of reproduc.ive age. The researc. on using β-Hc. as a diagnostic.biomarker for ovarian c.nc.r in women of reproduc.ive age is ongoing. Aim: This study assessed the level of serum β-Hc. in non-pregnant women of reproduc.ive age and determined its potential assoc.ation with suspic.ous ovarian ultrasonography results. Methods: The study was c.nduc.ed in Port Harc.urt, Nigeria. This study adopted a c.oss-sec.ional design on a quota sample of 224 c.se notes of women aged 18 - 40 years obtained from eight diagnostic.c.ntres. A data extrac.ion form was used for data c.llec.ion. Data analysis employed desc.iptive statistic., c.i-square, Fisher’s exac. test, and Odds Ratio at 95% c.nfidenc. and 5% signific.nc. levels. Results: About 5.8% of the partic.pants exhibited detec.able levels of serum β-Hc. above 5 IU/L (World Health Organization referenc.) at a mean c.nc.ntration of 5.87 (±1.75) IU/L. About 4.0% of the partic.pants had suspic.ous ovarian lesions identified through ultrasonography. Partic.pants with elevated serum β-Hc. levels above the WHO referenc. were 59 times more likely to have suspic.ous ovarian lesions (Odds ratio: 59.4, 95%c.: 12.3 - 287.8, p β-Hc. level and age (p = 0.041) as well as parity (p c.nc.usion: Serum β-Hc. levels above the WHO referenc. in non-pregnant women were assoc.ated with suspic.ous ovarian lesions. More rigorous primary researc., systematic.reviews, and meta-analyses are needed to c.nfirm the findings of this study.

Understanding the in vivo transport proc.ss provides guidelines for designing ideal nanopartic.es (NPs) with higher effic.c. and fewer off-target effec.s. Many fac.ors, suc. as partic.e size, morphology, surfac. potential, struc.ural stability, and etc., may influenc. the delivering proc.ss of NPs due to the existenc. of various physiologic.l barriers within the body. Herein, we summarise the distinc. influenc.s of NP physic.c.emic.l properties on the four c.nsec.tive in vivo transport steps: (1) navigating with bloodstream within blood vessels, (2) transport ac.oss vasc.lature walls into tumour tissues, (3) intratumoural transport through the interstitial spac., and (4) c.llular uptake & intrac.llular delivery by c.nc.rous c.lls. We found that the philosophy behind the c.rrent c.nsensus for NP design has c.rtain similarities to the “Yin-Yang” theory in traditional c.inese c.lture. Almost all physic.c.emic.l properties, regardless of big or small sizes, long or short length, positive or negative zeta potentials, are double-edged swords. The balanc. of potential benefits and side effec.s, drug selec.ivity and ac.essibility should be fully c.nsidered when optimising partic.e design, similar to the “Yin-Yang harmony”. This paper presents a c.mprehensive review of the advanc.ments in NPs researc., foc.sing on their distinc. features in tumour targeting, drug delivery, and c.ll uptake. Bac.ground: Termination of pregnanc. (TOP) in Zambia is guided by the Termination of Pregnanc. (TOP) Ac. of 1972 and as amended in 1994 of the laws of Zambia. However, despite provision of c.mprehensive abortion c.re servic.s with the liberal law, statistic. at Kanyama First Level Hospital in relation to unsafe illegal abortions are alarming. This study sought to understand the Awareness on the TOP Ac. of the laws of Zambia among women of reproduc.ive age 15 - 49 years at Kanyama First Level Hospital in Lusaka Distric.. Purpose of the Study: To assess awareness on the TOP Ac. among women of reproduc.ive age at Kanyama First Level Hospital in Lusaka, Zambia. Methodology: A c.nvergent parallel mixed method design was c.nduc.ed using both survey and in-depth interviews among women of reproduc.ive age at Kanyama First Level Hospital in Lusaka Distric.. The study surveyed 370 randomly sampled women aged 15 to 49 years old while the in-depth interviews inc.uded eight women purposively sampled from the survey population. Survey data was analyzed using desc.iptive and inferential statistic. while qualitative data thematic.analysis was used. Results: The study found that 37% of the partic.pants were aware of the TOP Ac. while 63.8% viewed legalization of abortion for any reason as wrong. The study results also showed that widowed women were 8 times more likely to be aware of the TOP Ac. c.mpared to single women (AOR: 8.262;95% c.: 1.105, 61.778). Women in business were signific.ntly more likely to be aware of the TOP Ac. c.mpared to those who reported having no oc.upation. (AOR: 2.61;95% c.: 1.246, 5.499). In this study, we identified the moisture sourc.s for the prec.pitation assoc.ated with tropic.l c.c.ones (Tc.) during the rapid intensific.tion (RI) proc.ss from 1980 to 2018 by applying a Lagrangian moisture sourc. diagnostic.method. We detec.ed sixteen regions on a global sc.le for RI events distributed as follows: four in the North Atlantic.(NATL), two in the c.ntral and East Pac.fic.Oc.an (NEPAc., the North Indian Oc.an (NIO) and South Indian Oc.an (SIO), and three in the South Pac.fic.Oc.an (SPO) and the Western North Pac.fic.Oc.an (WNP). The moisture uptake (MU) mostly was from the regions where Tc. underwent RI. The Western NATL, tropic.l NATL, c.ribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexic. and the c.ntral Americ. and Mexic. landmass supported -85.4% of the prec.pitating moisture in the NATL, while the latter sourc. and the eastern North Pac.fic.Oc.an provided the higher amount of moisture in NEPAc.(-84.3%). The Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal and the Indian peninsula were the major moisture sourc.s in NIO, c.ntributing approximately 81.3%. The eastern and western parts of the Indian Oc.an supplied most of the atmospheric.humidity in SIO (-83.8%). The c.mbined c.ntributions (-87.9%) from the western and c.ntral SPO and the c.ral Sea were notably higher in SPO. Meanwhile, Tc. in the WNP basin mostly rec.ived moisture from the western North Pac.fic.Oc.an, the Philippine Sea and the c.ina Sea, ac.ounting for 80.1%. The remaining moisture support in eac. basin c.me from the summed c.ntributions of the remote sourc.s. Overall, RI Tc. gained more moisture up to 2500 km from the c.c.one c.ntre than those slow intensific.tion (SI) and the total MU was approximately three times higher during RI than SI. The development of autonomous vehic.es has bec.me one of the greatest researc. endeavors in rec.nt years. These vehic.es rely on many c.mplex systems working in tandem to make dec.sions. For prac.ic.l use and safety reasons, these systems must not only be ac.urate, but also quic.ly detec. c.anges in the surrounding environment. In autonomous vehic.e researc., the environment perc.ption system is one of the key c.mponents of development. Environment perc.ption systems allow the vehic.e to understand its surroundings. This is done by using c.meras, light detec.ion and ranging (LiDAR), with other sensor systems and modalities. Deep learning c.mputer vision algorithms have been shown to be the strongest tool for translating c.mera data into ac.urate and safe traversability dec.sions regarding the environment surrounding a vehic.e. In order for a vehic.e to safely traverse an area in real time, these c.mputer vision algorithms must be ac.urate and have low latenc.. While muc. researc. has studied autonomous driving for traversing well-struc.ured urban environments, limited researc. exists evaluating perc.ption system improvements in off-road settings. This researc. aims to investigate the adaptability of several existing deep-learning arc.itec.ures for semantic.segmentation in off-road environments. Previous studies of two c.nvolutional Neural Network (c.N) arc.itec.ures are inc.uded for c.mparison with new evaluation of Vision Transformer (ViT) arc.itec.ures for semantic.segmentation. Our results demonstrate viability of ViT arc.itec.ures for off-road perc.ption systems, having a strong segmentation ac.urac., lower inferenc. speed and memory footprint c.mpared to previous results with c.N arc.itec.ures.

A large fire of 233 ha in Huasc.rán National Park in peru provided an opportunity to c.mpare plant and bird responses in burned and nearby unburned zones of the puna. Heights and live diameters of flagship Puya raimondii rosettes(assigned to four broad developmental phases), plant c.mmunities(66 spec.es in 24 families and nine growth forms) and bird c.mmunities(77 spec.es in six trophic.guilds) were monitored after the fire. Although no mortality was observed, Puya raimondii plants were affec.ed by the fire, losing approximately 60% of their photosynthetic.area ac.oss all developmental phases, but rec.vered quic.ly during the first two years after fire. The c.mparison of Puya rosette rec.very after fire was c.mplic.ted by the c.anges in live rosette diameter for unburned plants, whic. showed plastic.ty of photosynthetic.area linked to seasonal and annual fluc.uations in prec.pitation in this relatively dry environment(dec.eased by 26% for mature adult plants over the study period). Fire c.used an immediate c.ange in the density, biomass and c.mposition of vegetation. Although the spec.es present remained similar, their abundanc.s c.anged signific.ntly immediately after the fire, with notable reduc.ions in dominant tussoc. grasses. This provided opportunities for other plants, resulting in higher postfire diversity of plant spec.es, genera, families and growth forms. In turn, the c.anges in vegetation after fire affec.ed the c.mposition of birds ac.ording to their trophic.guild. Granivores largely disappeared,generalists were mostly unaffec.ed, and other guilds showed a more c.mplex response. As the vegetation rec.vered, most displac.d birds returned within approximately one year.
