Gupeiite Body in the Siberian Taiga (the Zone of Passage of the Tunguska Meteorite and the Vitim Bollid)

Many years have passed since the two cosmic bodies of the Tunguska meteorite and the Vitim bollid fell to earth, but so far the substance of these bodies has not been found on earth. Therefore, each metal body found on the territory of their passage is of particular interest. The body of iron silicide weighing 12 kg was studied, which was accidentally discovered by a hunter of the village of Kyker in the Siberian taiga on the right bank of the Nercha River, Tungokochensky district, Trans-Baikal Territory. Coordinates of the place of discovery are: 53º19'N lat, 116º19'e long. The territory is located in the zone of the passage of the Tunguska meteorite and the Vitim bollid, 25 km from the hunting village of Green Lake. The body is named “Ilekta” after the nearest stream flowing into the Nercha River. The composition and magnetic properties of the exotic find have been determined. It is established that its main mass is composed of iron silicide, gupesiite Fe3Si (zussite?) and contains inclusions of needle-like rhabdite. On the surface, the body is covered with a melting crust, with signs of boiling, a bubbly structure and a film of clay minerals of terrestrial origin. In the molten porous crust, eutectic-schreibersite-gupeiite is observed, and rare titanium carbide crystals are also noted. The magnetic susceptibility of the samples is not uniform (286.6 - 461.8 10-6e-06 m3/kg). It is assumed that a drop of melt separated from the flying space body, and experienced overheating and boiling of the surface layer in the dense layers of the atmosphere.

First Order Phase Transitions as Radiation Processes, Part Two

This paper presents new experimental results concerning the PeTa effect—infrared characteristic radiation under first order phase transitions, especially during deposition and condensation of vapours/gases and the crystallisation of melts. The abbreviation “PeTa effect” means Perel’man-Tatartchenko’s effect. The nature of the PeTa effect is transient radiation that a particle (i.e., atom, molecule or/and cluster) emits during a transition from a meta-stable higher energetic level (in a super-cooled melt or super-saturated vapour) to the stable condensed lower level (in a crystal or liquid). The radiation removes latent heat with photons of characteristic frequencies that are generated under this transition. This paper is the second in a set describing the appearance of PeTa radiation under air cooling with deposition and condensation of air components. The radiation was recorded using an IR Fourier Spectrometer with a highly sensitive MCT detector. Certain peculiarities of the recorded radiation as well as its applications in the physics of the atmospheres of earth and Jupiter are analysed.

Antibody-Like Phosphorylation Sites in Focus of Statistically Based Bilingual Approach

In accordance with previous reports, the sequences related to phosporylated protein segments occur in conserved variable domains of immunoglobulins including first of all certain N-terminally located segments. Consequently, we look here for the sequences 1) composing human and mouse proteins different from antigen receptors, 2) identical with or highly similar to nucleotide sequence representatives of conserved variable immunoglobulin segments and 3) identical with or closely related to phosphorylation sites. More precisely, we searched for the corresponding actual pairs of DNA and protein sequence segments using five-step bilingual approach employing among others a) different types of BLAST searches, b) two in-principle-different machine-learning methods predicting phosphorylated sites and c) two large databases recording existing phosphorylation sites. The approach identified seven existing phosphorylation sites and thirty-seven related human and mouse segments achieving limits for several predictions or phylogenic parameters. Mostly serines phosporylated with ataxia-telangiectasia-related kinase (involved in regulation of DNA-double-strand-break repair) were indicated or predicted in this study. Hypermutation motifs, located in effective positions of the selected sequence segments, occurred significantly less frequently in transcribed than non-transcribed DNA strands suggesting thus the incidence of mutation events. In addition, marked differences between the numbers and proportions of human and mouse cancer-related sequence items were found in different steps of selection process. The possible role of hypermutation changes within the selected segments and the observed structural relationships are discussed here with respect to DNA damage, carcinogenesis, cancer vaccination, ageing and evolution. This paper briefly assesses the conclusions from the long-term research of soil properties of the banks and shore of Lake Most. This paper mainly deals with the long-term development of the soil parameters of the anthropogenic soil profile and, to a lesser extent, the assessment of soil habitats with a typical flora. The experience gained will aid in the planning of further hydrological reclamation.

Residence Time Distribution at Laminar Pulsatile Flow in a Straight Pipe

This paper deals with the problem of theoretical identification of the residence time distribution （RTD） characteristics of a straight pipe at laminar pulsatile flow, if tracer diffusion can be neglected. This situation is typical for micro-apparatuses （e.g. fluidic element） and also for flow in large arteries. Residence time distribution based on velocity profiles at pulsatile flow of a Newtonian liquid in a rigid pipe will be derived theoretically and compared with the well known results for a constant flow rate e（τ） = τ-^2/2τ^3 at τ 〉 τ^-/2, where e （τ） is differential distribution, x is residence time and τ^- is the mean residence time. The following part of the paper deals stimulus response experimental techniques using tracers. The principal problem related to laminar and convection dominated pulsatile flows is discussed： Can the impulse response also be identified with the actual residence time distribution in the case of variable flow？ The general answer is no, and differences between RTD and impulse responses are evaluated as a function of the frequency and amplitude of pulsatile flows.

In the field of modern hydrogen energy,obtaining pure hydrogen and syngas and then being able to use them for green energy production are significant *** solid oxide fuel cells(SOFC)and catalytic membranes for oxygen separation as well as materials for these devices is one of the most likely ways to solve these *** this work,the authors’recent studies in this field are reviewed;the fundamentals of developing materials for SOFC cathodes and oxygen separation membranes’permselective layers based on research of their oxygen mobility and surface reactivity are ***-Popper phases Ln_(2-x)Ca_(x)NiO_(4+δ)(LnCNO)and perovskite-fluorite nanocomposites PrNi_(0.5)Co_(0.5)O_(3-δ)-Ce_(0.9)Y_(0.1)O_(2-δ)(PNC-YDC)were studied by isotope exchange of oxygen with C_(18)O_(2)and^(18)O_(2)in flow and closed *** LnCNO a high oxygen mobility was shown(D*~10^(-7)cm^(2)/s at 700℃),being provided by the cooperative mechanism of oxygen migration involving both regular and highly-mobile interstitial *** PNC-YDC dominated a wide fast diffusion channel via fluorite phase and interphases due to features of the redistribution of cations resulting in superior oxygen mobility(D*~10^(-8)cm^(2)/s at 700℃).After optimization of composition and nanodomain structure of these materials,as cathodes of SOFC they provided a high power density,while for asymmetric supported oxygen separation membranes-a high oxygen permeability.

When reclaiming the surface of the Radovesická dump in the North Bohemian brown coal basin, the most commonly used marls and marlstones are extracted in the foreland of filled-in territory. The most frequent reclamations are the formation of overgrown and humus anthroposoil. The soil properties of the anthroposoils for forestry purposes and the growth vitality of a broader assortment of woody plants in the age of 12 - 14 years are evaluated. It has been found that the very good growth vitality on these anthroposoils is shown by most of the trees of domestic origin (Populus nigra L., Acer pseudoplatanus L., Pinus sylvestris L., Alnus glutinosa (L.) Gaertn., Fraxinus excelsior L., Betula verrucosa ehrh., Quercus robur L., Tilia cordata Mill.), including some of the tree species introduced (Larix decidua L., Pinus nigra Arn.) and reclamations of atypical atrophic soil horizons did not negatively affect their development.
