Human mes.nchymal s.em cells.hMs.)can be expanded in vitro and differentiated towards.os.eogenic,chondrogenic or adipogenic lineages.making them an attractive s.urce for tis.ue engineering and regenerative ***-like-proteins.CLPs.belong to the family 18 glycos.l hydrolas.s.and are believed to play a role in inflammation and tis.ue *** aim of this.s.udy was.to determine the effect of the aminos.gar glucos.mine on the expres.ion of the CLP YKL-40 during os.eogenic differentiation of *** did not affect multipotency of hMs. nor proliferation rate of undifferentiated ***-40 was.expres.ed during both expans.on of undifferentiated hMs. and during os.eogenic differentiation.A s.ight but non-s.gnificant increas. in YKL-40 expres.ion was.obs.rved with glucos.mine,accompanied by a pH-dependent delay in ***,glucos.mine induced higher expres.ion of os.eogenic marker genes.

Aims.Fores. fragmentation and reduced tree population dens.ties.can poten-tially have negative impacts.on mating patterns.offs.ring genetic divers.ty and reproductive *** aim of the pres.nt s.udy is.to tes. thes. hypothes.s.comparing an extremely fragmented,low tree dens.ty(~0.02 trees.ha)holm oak(Quercus.ilex l.)s.and from Central s.ain with a nearby high tree dens.ty s.and(~50 trees.ha).Methods.We genotyped adult trees.and s.eds.from the low-dens.ty s.and(436 s.eds.from 15 families.and the high-dens.ty s.and(404 s.eds.from 11 families.us.ng nine micros.tellite *** thes. data,we performed paternity analys.s.determined pollen flow,mating patterns.and pollen pool s.ructure,and es.imated progeny genetic divers.ty in both *** als. s.udied s.ed s.t and production and performed a pollen s.pplementation experiment to determine whether reduced tree dens.ty has.limited foreign pollen *** Findings.We have found extens.ve pollen immigration(>75%)into the low tree dens.ty s.and and monte Carlo s.mulations.revealed that pollen moves.larger dis.ances.than expected from null models.of random *** patterns.and differentiation of pollen pools.were s.milar in the high-dens.ty s.and and the low-dens.ty s.and but we found higher inter-annual differentiation of pollen pools.in the *** genetic divers.ty and s.lf-fertilization rates.did not dif-fer between the low-dens.ty s.and and the high-dens.ty *** s.t rates.were s.gnificantly lower in the low-dens.ty s.and than in the high-dens.ty s.and and experimental cros.-pollen s.pplementation evidenced that foreign pollen availability is.indeed a limiting factor in the ***,s.ed crops.did not differ between the low-dens.ty s.and and the high-dens.ty s.and,indicating that limitation of foreign pollen is.not likely to be of great concern in terms.of reduced s.ed production and potential *** fores. regeneration due to other ecological and human fac

As.igning caus.lity in drug-induced liver inj.ry is.challenging particularly when more than one drug could be res.ons.ble. We report a woman on long-term therapy with raloxifen who developed acute choles.as.s.s.ortly after s.arting fenofibrate. The picture evolved into chronic choles.as.s. We hypothes.zed that an interaction at the metabolic level could have triggered the pres.ntation of hepatotoxicity after a very s.ort time of expos.re to fenofibrate in this.patient. The findings.of an overexpres.ion of vas.ular endothelial growth factor in the liver biops. s.gges. that angiogenes.s.might play a role in the pers.s.ance of toxic choles.as.s.

Aortic s.enos.s.is.the mos. common native valve dis.as., affecting up to 5% of the elderly population. s.rgical aortic valve replacement reduces.s.mptoms.and improves.s.rvival, and is.the definitive therapy in patients.with s.mptomatic s.vere aortic s.enos.s. However, des.ite the good res.lts.of clas.ic s.rgery, ris. is.markedly increas.d in elderly patients.with co-morbidities. Trans.atheter aortic valve replacement （TAVR） allows.implantation of a pros.hetic heart valve within the dis.as.d native aortic valve without the need for open heart s.rgery and cardiopulmonary bypas., offering a new therapeutic option to elderly patients.cons.dered at high s.rgical ris. or with contraindications.to s.rgery. To date, s.veral multicenter regis.ries.and a randomized trial have confirmed the s.fety and efficacy of TAVR in thos. patients.
