The building stock is responsible for a large share of global energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions,therefore,it is critical to promote building retrofit to achieve the proposed carbon and energy neutrality *** of the policies implemented in recent years was the Energy Performance Certificate(EPC)policy,which proposes building stock benchmarking to identify buildings that require ***,research shows that these mechanisms fail to engage stakeholders in the retrofit process because it is widely seen as a mandatory and complex *** study makes use of an EPC database to integrate machine learning techniques with multi-objective optimization and develop an interface capable of(1)predicting a building’s,or household’s,energy needs;and(2)providing the user with optimum retrofit solutions,costs,and return on *** goal is to provide an open-source,easy-to-use interface that guides the user in the building retrofit *** energy and EPC prediction models show a coefficient of determination(R2)of 0.84 and 0.79,and the optimization results for one case study EPC with a 2000€budget limit inÉvora,Portugal,show decreases of up to 60%in energy needs and return on investments of up to 7 in 3 years.

This cross-sectional study examined the lower limb balance,ankle dorsiflexion,orofacial tissue pressure,and occlusal strength of rugby ***-six participants were divided into groups:rugby players(n=13)and healthy sedentary adults(n=13).Participants underwent an analysis of lower limb balance using a composite score(Y-Balance Test).Ankle dorsiflexion was measured using the Lunge *** Iowa Oral Performance Instrument was employed to measure orofacial tissue *** force was measured with a dynamometer,and T-scan assessed occlusal contact *** were analyzed using the t-test(ph age and weight as covariates,where it is possible to verify that these factors did not influence the results *** differences were observed in the balance of the right(p=0.07)and left(p=0.02)lower limbs,where rugby players had lower composite *** were significant differences in the right(p=0.005)and left(p=0.004)lunges,with rugby players showing lower values,as well as lower tongue pressure(p=0.01)and higher lip pressure(p=0.03),with significant differences to sedentary *** was no significant difference in molar bite force and distribution occlusal contacts between *** seems to reduce lower limb displacement,cause ankle hypomobility,lead to changes in orofacial tissues,particularly the tongue and *** study is significant for identifying significant differences between rugby players and sedentary individuals,providing new insights into the impact of rugby on health and performance,which can benefit sports training and injury prevention.

Knowledge graphs are employed in several tasks,such as question answering and recommendation systems,due to their ability to represent relationships between *** constructing such a graphs,however,remains an unresolved challenge within knowledge *** tackle this challenge,we propose CtxKG,a method specifically aimed at extracting knowledge graphs in a context of limited resources in which the only input is a set of unstructured text *** is based on OpenIE(a relationship triple extraction method)and BERT(a language model)and contains four stages:the extraction of relationship triples directly from text;the identification of synonyms across triples;the merging of similar entities;and the building of bridges between knowledge graphs of different *** method distinguishes itself from those in the current literature(i)through its use of the parse tree to avoid the overlapping entities produced by base implementations of OpenIE;and(ii)through its bridges,which create a connected network of graphs,overcoming a limitation similar methods have of one isolated graph per *** compare our method to two others by generating graphs for movie articles from Wikipedia and contrasting them with benchmark graphs built from the OMDb movie *** results suggest that our method is able to improve multiple aspects of knowledge graph *** also highlight the critical role that triple identification and named-entity recognition have in improving the quality of automatically generated graphs,suggesting future paths for ***,we apply CtxKG to build BlabKG,a knowledge graph for the Blue Amazon,and discuss possible improvements.

Globally,vegetation has been changing *** vegetation-water dynamic is key to understanding ecosystem structure and functioning in water-limited *** satellite monitoring has detected global vegetation ***,a vegetation greenness increase does not mean that ecosystem functions *** intricate interplays resulting from the relationships between vegetation and precipitation must be more adequately *** this study,satellite data,for example,leaf area index(LAI),net primary production(NPP),and rainfall use efficiency(RUE),were used to quantify vegetation dynamics and their relationship with rainfall in different reaches of the Yellow River Basin(YRB).A sequential regression method was used to detect trends of NPP sensitivity to *** results showed that 34.53%of the YRB exhibited a significant greening trend since *** them,20.54%,53.37%,and 16.73%of upper,middle,and lower reach areas showed a significant positive trend,*** showed a similar trend to LAI in the YRB upper,middle,and lower reaches.A notable difference was noted in the distributions and trends of RUE across the upper,middle,and lower ***,there were significant trends in vegetation-rainfall sensitivity in 16.86%of the YRB’s middle reaches—14.08%showed negative trends and 2.78%positive trends.A total of 8.41%of the YRB exhibited a marked increase in LAI,NPP,and ***,strategic locations reliant on the correlation between vegetation and rainfall were identified and designated for restoration planning purposes to propose future ecological restoration *** analysis indicates that the middle reach of the YRB exhibited the most significant variation in vegetation greenness and *** present study underscores the significance of examining the correlation between vegetation and rainfall within the context of the high-quality development strategy of the *** outcomes of our analysis and the

The aggregation of amyloid-beta peptide and tau protein dysregulation are implicated to play key roles in Alzheimer's disease pathogenesis and are considered the main pathological hallmarks of this devastating ***,these two proteins are produced and expressed within the normal human ***,under pathological conditions,abnormal expression,posttranslational modifications,conformational changes,and truncation can make these proteins prone to aggregation,triggering specific disease-related *** studies have indicated associations between aberrant behavior of amyloid-beta and tau proteins and various neurological diseases,such as Alzheimer's disease,Parkinson's disease,and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,as well as retinal neurodegenerative diseases like Glaucoma and age-related macular ***,these proteins have been linked to cardiovascular disease,cancer,traumatic brain injury,and diabetes,which are all leading causes of morbidity and *** this comprehensive review,we provide an overview of the connections between amyloid-beta and tau proteins and a spectrum of disorders.

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials for thermometers based on the fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)concentrations,energy transfer(ET)processes such as optical reabsorption and cross-relaxation can affect the Nd^(3+)emission,which has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(samples doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 mol%,0.5 mol%,2.0 mol%,and 4.0 mol%)in fluorescence thermometers,in the temperature range from 299 to 371 *** results indicate a strong dependence of the FIR parameters on the Nd^(3+)concentration,due to changes in the emission band profiles caused by optical reabsorption of the Nd^(3+)emissions and cross-relaxation processes.A decrease of the relative sensitivity of the ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for samples doped with higher amounts of Nd^(3+).The maximum relative sensitivity at 299 K is 3.00%/K,which is the highest value among the reported Nd^(3+)ions.

Mitochondrial disorders are phenotypically varied, with serious clinical repercussions. Among them, there is the deficiency of combined oxidative phosphorylation of type 20, which occurs due to a defect in the VARs2 gene. This article presents a case of a 2-year-old female with progressive myoclonic epilepsy and psychomotor regression, with refractoriness to multiple anticonvulsants. The diagnosis was only made after the examination was carried out. Therefore, this article highlights the aspects of this rare disease and the importance of the exome for the diagnosis of rare conditions.

Bats are the second-most diverse group of mammals in the world,and bat flies are their main ***,significant knowledge gaps remain regarding these antagonistic interactions,especially since diverse factors such as seasonality and host sex can affect their network ***,we explore the influence of such factors by comparing species richness and composition of bat flies on host bats,as well as specialization and modularity of bat–bat fly interaction networks between seasons and adult host *** captured bats and collected their ectoparasitic flies at 10 sampling sites in the savannahs of Amapástate,northeastern region of the Brazilian *** female bats being more parasitized and recording greater bat fly species richness in the wet season,neither relationship was statistically *** pooled network could be divided into 15 compartments with 54 links,and all subnetworks comprised>12 *** total number of links ranged from 27 to 48(for the dry and wet seasons,respectively),and female and male subnetworks had 44 and 41 links,*** values were very low for the pooled network and for all *** results revealed higher bat fly species richness and abundance in the wet season,whereas specialization and modularity were higher in the dry ***,the subnetwork for female bats displayed higher specialization and modularity than the male ***,both seasonality and host sex contribute in different ways to bat–bat fly network *** studies should consider these factors when evaluating bat–bat fly interaction networks.

Empathy allows humans and other animals to share the emotional state of another, adopting that individual’s perspective on a given situation. This ability is fundamental for species living in groups. helping behavior in laboratory animals has been used to study empathy. In this test, subjects are exposed to a conspecific that is trapped and learn to open the cage to release the other animal. however, the interpretation of helping behavior as an emphatically motivated action is still controversial. here we review the studies that use the helping behavioral test proposed by Ben-Ami Bartal and colleagues in 2011 to better understand motivational factors for this behavior. In addition, we compare methodological aspects of these studies. In conclusion, helping behavior can be driven by empathy, but other factors such as the desire for social contact and learning components cannot be ruled out as motivators. In addition, studies focused on evaluating neurobiological mechanisms underlying helping behavior in laboratory rodents can help elucidate the factors involved in releasing the trapped co-specific.
