Colorectal cancer(CRC)is the second most common cause of cancer-related deaths in Europe and other Western countries,mainly due to the lack of wellvalidated clinically useful biomarkers with enough sensitivity and specificity to detect this disease at early *** it is well known that the pathogenesis of CRC is a progressive accumulation of mutations in multiple genes,much less is known at the proteome ***,in the last years many proteomic studies have been conducted to find new candidate protein biomarkers for diagnosis,prognosis and as therapeutic targets for this malignancy,as well as to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of colorectal *** important advantage of the proteomic approaches is the capacity to look for multiple differentially expressed proteins in a single *** review provides an overview of the recent reports describing the different proteomic tools used for the discovery of new protein markers for CRC such as two-dimensional electrophoresis methods,quantitative mass spectrometry-based techniques or protein ***,we will also focus on the diverse biological samples used for CRC biomarker discovery such as tissue,serum and faeces,besides cell lines and murine models,discussing their advantages and disadvantages,and summarize the most frequently identified candidate CRC markers.

The campo rupestre sensu lato is a vegetation type that occurs in south American mountains,supports a distinctive flora characterized by high rates of endemism,high herbaceous species richness and often-neglected but also species-rich of the arboreal *** aimed to investigate how environmental factors and elevation are associated with the distribution and diversity of woody species in different rupestrian vegetation types across south *** a database of 2,049 woody species from 185 sites across four vegetation types within the campo rupestre,we assessed how the vegetation types were grouped according to their floristic composition and number of shared indicator species,as well as by using different beta diversity *** most important variables from a set of 27 variables(***,geo-edaphic and climatic)explaining species distribution were identified using redundancy analysis(RDA)and variation partitioning *** distribution of vegetation types was related to both environmental and spatial fractions,with a set of 17 variables retained(***,grass cover and temperature seasonality as the most important variables).There was an association between the floristic composition of each vegetation type and the elevation *** the identified vegetation types are floristically related,they are distinguished by exclusive and habitat-specialist woody *** uniqueness of vegetation types should be considered in terms of complementarity for the conservation of campos rupestres.

Low dose rate brachytherapy(LDR)is an accepted,effective treatment with few local side effects,used as monotherapy in patients with low-risk prostate cancer(PC).The aim of this paper is to analyse 245 patients treated with LDR in the Radiation Oncology Department of the Hospital Gómez Ulla,from 2004 to 2016,evaluating the relationship of dosimetric parameters with biochemical and local recurrence as well as genitourinary and gastrointestinal toxicity derived from the *** results obtained show a clear relationship between the dose used and biochemical and local failure.

A cascade of dramatic physiological events is linked to the sperm acrosome reaction and binding to the oocyte's zona pellucida during human sperm ***,structural and functional sperm changes during capacitation currently remain poorly ***,we performed a multibiomarker approach based on the utilization of sperm concentration,motility,viability,morphology,acrosome reaction,tyrosine phosphorylation,DNA fragmentation,and lectin-binding sites to analyze the impact caused by swim-up selection times(uncapacitated,1 h capacitated,and 4 h capacitated)on sperm function and structure in normozoospermic *** found that a 4 h swim-up capacitation increased sperm quality,because a large number of cells with normal morphology and lower DNA fragmentation rates were ***,the long-term capacitation induced a higher percentage of cells with tyrosine phosphorylation of the principal piece as well as a redistribution of lectin-binding ***,the multivariate biomarkers analyzed showed a less variable distribution on spermatozoa recovered after 4 h capacitation than that with the shorter capacitation *** findings stress the importance of capacitation time as a relevant factor in sperm quality with potential biological reproductive implications both for basic research and in assisted reproduction techniques.

Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)are attracting increasing interests as photocatalysts for solar-driven hydrogen production from *** paper reports on a comparative study of using either acetic acid(AA)or trifluoroacetic acid(TFA)as the representative UiO-66 organic modulators for synthesizing visible light responsive UiO-66(Zr)-X(X:NH_(2) or NO_(2))photocatalysts for water *** results show that photocatalytic hydrogen generation from a water/methanol mixture can be improved by varying the nature and amount of the modulator employed to prepare the different UiO-66(Zr)-X(X:NH_(2) or NO_(2))solid ***-66(Zr)-NH_(2) was the most active photocatalyst,followed by UiO-66(Zr)-NO_(2),both prepared with 12 equivalents of AA with respect to the organic *** UiO-66(Zr)-NH_(2) solid was more active than the parent MOF in photocatalytic overall water splitting(OWs)(H_(2) and O_(2) production of 450 and 160μmol·g^(-1),respectively,in 5 h;apparent quantum yield(AQY)at 400 nm of 0.06%)in the absence of methanol and compares favourably with analogous *** on the photocatalytic activity of the most active solids of both series was obtained by means of a series of techniques,including ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis)diffuse reflectance,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPs),laser flash photolysis(LFP),electron spin resonance(EsR),photoluminescence and photoelectrochemical measurements together with density functional theory(DFT)*** results showed that organic acid modulators can be used to enhance the photocatalytic activity of missing linker UiO-66 defective materials in solar-powered water splitting.

Objective To assess the prognostic impact of a routine invasive strategy according to the frailty burden in patients with non-sT-segment elevation myocardial infarction(NsTEMI)from the MOsCA-FRAIL clinical *** The MOsCA-FRAIL trial randomized 167 frail patients,defined by a Clinical Frailty scale(CFs)≥4,with NsTEMI to an invasive or conservative *** primary endpoint was the number of days alive and out of hospital(DAOH)one year after *** this subanalysis,we compared the impact of an invasive strategy on the outcomes between vulnerable(CFs=4,n=43)and frail(CFs>4,n=124)*** Compared to vulnerable patients,frail patients presented lower values of DAOH(289.8 vs.320.6,P=0.146),more read-missions(1.03 vs.0.58,P=0.046)and higher number of days spent at the hospital during the first year(10.8 vs.3.8,P=0.014).The cau-ses of readmission were mostly non-cardiac(56%).Among vulnerable patients,DAOH were similar regardless of strategy(invasive ***:325.7 vs.314.7,P=0.684).Among frailest patients,the invasive group tended to have less DAOH(267.7 vs.311.1,P=0.117).Indeed,patients with CFs>4,invasively managed lived 29 days less than their conservative *** contrast,the-re were no differences in the subgroup with CFs=*** Adult patients with frailty and NsTEMI showed different prognosis according to the degree of frailty.A routine in-vasive strategy does not improve outcomes and might be harmful to the frailest patients.

AIM:To study the association between exposure tosalmonella enterica(sE)and Crohn’s disease(CD)and its clinical implications in Chilean ***:Ninety-four unrelated Chilean CD patients from CAREI(Active Cohort Registry of Inflammatory Bowel Disease)presenting to a single inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)unit of a University Hospital were prospectively included in this study.A complete clinical evaluation,including smoking history,was performed at the initial visit,and all the important data of clinical evolution of CD were *** samples from these CD patients and 88 healthy sex-and agematched control subjects were analyzed for exposure to sE and for their NOD2/CARD15 gene status using the presence of anti-salmonella lipopolysaccharide antibodies[immunoglobulin-G type(IgG)]and polymerase chain reaction(PCR),*** also evaluated exposure to sE in 90 sex-and age-matched patients without CD,but with known smoking status(30 smokers,30 non-smokers,and 30 former smokers).REsULTs:CD patients comprised 54 females and 40males,aged 35.5±15.2 years at diagnosis with a mean follow-up of 9.0±6.8 *** was inflammatory in 59 patients(62.7%),stricturing in 24(25.5%)and penetrating in 15(15.5%).Thirty cases(31.9%)had lesions in the ileum,29(30.8%)had ileocolonic lesions,32(34.0%)had colonic lesions and 23(24.4%)had perianal *** CD patients(17%)were exposed to sE compared to 15(17%)of 88 healthy control subjects(P=0.8).Thirty-one CD patients(32.9%)were smokers,and 7(7.4%)were former smokers at *** the group exposed to sE,10 of 16 patients(62.5%)were active smokers compared to 21 of 78 patients(26.9%)in the unexposed group(P=0.01).On the other hand,10 of 31 smoking patients(32%)were exposed to sE compared to 5 of 56 nonsmoking patients(9%),and one of the seven former smokers(14%)(P=0.01).In the group of 90 patients without CD,but whose smoking status was known,there was no differ-ence in exposure to sE[3 of 30 smokers(10%),5 of30 non-s

Microstructural evolution during mechanical alloying of Ag and Zn, and subsequent heat treatments were investigated. The mechanical alloying was carried out in a sPEX 8000D miller. The microstructural characterization was obtained by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM） and scanning electron microscopy （sEM）. The thermal behavior was studied using differential scanning calorimetry （DsC）. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that at the early stages of milling was possible to detect the ε, β, β′, α solid solutions and remaining Zn. Later, the ε, β, β′ and Zn phases disappeared while the Zn concentration of the α solid solution was strongly increased. After 7.2 ks of milling, the mechanical alloying process reached a steady state. During this period, both the composition and crystallite size of the α solid solution remained practically unchanged. On the other hand, subsequent heat treatments of milled powders showed that the α solid solution could also be obtained by the combination of mechanical alloying and heat treatment. Finally, the evolution of the microstructure during milling and annealing was combined to propose an optimal processing route in order to obtain a α solid solution.

Perception of Forensic Accountants About Elaboration of Free Judicial Expertise in Brazil

The Article 23 in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights mentions that all work must have a fair and favorable remuneration. However, in Brazil, the state uses the free legal aid as a way of minimizing the social and economic inequality, making it possible for the needy to have access to justice. Through the free legal aid, the litigant is exempted from payment of fees and legal expenses and court, thus, transferring the burden of work to professionals who assist in the judicial process. so, the magistrate can appoint an expert accountant to assist him in the trial of the legal question when the proof requires accounting knowledge. In this way, this article discusses the accounting expertise that is free of charge from the perception of expert accountants. The authors had applied questionnaires in August and september in 2008, and obtained 131 responses and 2,859 data. From this research, the authors observed that the majority of respondents when solicited to work with the possibility of non-payment attended the demand, and believed that this would contribute to society and assist the magistrate.

The“oil stain disease”has become a phytosanitary status that involves economic losses for farmers who produce gulupa(Passiflora edulis sims).For this reason,this research aimed to evaluate the biocontrol activity of Bacillus subtilis ATCC 55033 in a culture medium based on fermented millet as a biocontrol product of the ***,metabolite production of seven strains of *** and a reference strain B.s(ATCC 55033)was evaluated;in addition,the in vitro antagonistic ability was evaluated against Xanthomonas *** experiments were performed under in vitro conditions:(1)study of the presence of halos of hemolysis due to metabolite production;(2)analysis of the antagonistic ability by using double *** was observed that concerning the average,a number five times bigger of halos of hemolysis and 10 times bigger halos of inhibition in vitro on the growth of *** in the strains B.s(ATCC 55033)and B.s TB2 over other ***,the evaluation was performed under greenhouse conditions,based on a randomized block design,in which two treatments were applied over the soil:(1)application of the fermented medium based on millet with B.s ATCC 55033,24 h before X.a inoculation;(2)application of 5 d *** was observed that the treatment,previous infective process,obtained an average percentage of severity equal to 42.044%.In addition,after the evaluation month,a foliage restoration was *** conclusion,it is suggested that these products could act as inducers in the plant systemic resistance to trigger defense responses to infection of X.a.
