Objective:To detect Dientamoeba(D.)fragilis and Enterocytozoon(E.)bieneusi and to assess their genetic characteristics in stool samples submitted for routine examination in a clinical laboratory in Southeastern ***:In this survey,348 stool samples from female and male individuals with age ranging from 0 to≥55 years were analyzed by PCR amplifying and sequencing based on the small subunit ribosomal RNA(SSU r RNA)gene of *** and the internal transcribed spacer of ***:*** and *** isolates were observed in 2.29%(8/348)and 4.59%(16/348)of the samples,*** parasites were detected in stool samples from individuals of both genders,including young children under nine until adults over 55 years *** statistically significant differences were *** *** isolates were classified as genotype 1 and *** isolates included genotypes D(n=15)and A(n=1).Conclusions:The findings provide relevant findings on occurrence and genetic diversity of *** and ***,pointing to the need for the diagnosis of these parasites in routine examinations in clinical *** addition to sensitive diagnostic methods,it is mandatory that these parasites be considered relevant for physicians and laboratory staff.

本文旨在探讨音乐剧作品在儿童教学中的应用,以音乐剧《音乐之声》为主要研究对象,研究适合儿童教学的音乐剧作品的特点。此外,本文尝试探讨音乐剧教师在教学过程中,如何将学习与表演相结合,让音乐剧成为儿童生活中的一种积极体验。第一章对《音乐之声》的人物原型与电影、作曲家及音乐剧版本的故事情节与角色进行了叙述。第二章简析了五首《音乐之声》中脍炙人口及适合儿童演唱的曲目,并以歌曲《Do-Re-Mi》为主要分析对象,从五个层面:旋律、和弦进行、旋律音程、频谱和歌词进行了分析,以研究这些歌曲适合作为儿童的音乐剧曲目教材的特征。第三章则探讨了教师在音乐剧作品教学中如何更好地在保持孩子们的学习兴趣同时增强他们的表现力及自信心。

This study evaluated the effects of freeze-dried red beet(Beta vulgaris L.)root(FDBR)and stem/leaves(FDBSL)on the growth and metabolic activities of the probiotics Lactobacillus acidophilus La-05,Lacticaseibacillus casei 26,and Lismosilactobacillus fermentum 296,as well as on their survival and physiological states when exposed to simulated gastrointestinal conditions(SGIC).The changes in the contents of phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity of FDBR and FDBSL when exposed to SGIC were also *** and FDBSL had high contents of soluble(5.25 and 11.10 g/100 g)and insoluble fiber(21.43 and 37.03 g/100 g),pectins(8.45 and 9.51 g/100 g),betalains(3.36-28.99 g/100 g),and a variety of phenolic *** and FDBSL stimulated the growth of the probiotic strains with high viable counts(>9 log CFU/mL),the production of acetic,butyric,lactic,and propionic acids,and alterations in the contents of phenolic compounds during 72 h of *** and FDBSL had positive prebiotic activity scores on the tested probiotics(≥0.17)linked to selective stimulatory *** and FDBSL increased the survival and maintenance of active physiological functions in the probiotic during exposure to *** contents of phenolic compounds and the antioxidant activity of FDBR and FDBSL increased after exposure to the stomach conditions,while the antioxidant activity decreased after exposure to intestine *** stimulatory and protective effects of FDBR and FDBSL on probiotic strains could be associated with their dietary fiber and phenolic compound contents,which could be exploited in the formulation of functional foods or dietary supplements.

Mastocytosis is a clonal neoplastic disorder of the mast cells(MC) that can be limited to the skin(cutaneous mastocytosis) or involve one or more extracutaneous organs(systemic mastocytosis). The clinical manifestations of mastocytosis are heterogeneous ranging from indolent disease with a long-term survival to a highly aggressive neoplasm with survival of about 6 mo. Although liver involvement in aggressive systemic mastocytosis(ASM) is relatively common, the development of portal hypertension with or without cirrhosis is rare. We report a case of ASM without skin involvement in a 72-year-old caucasian male who presented with non-cirrhotic portal hypertension based on clinical, analytical, imagiological and endoscopic findings. Given the hematological picture, the correct diagnosis was established based on ancillary tests for MC using bone marrow aspirates and biopsy. Extensive involvement of the liver and gastrointestinal tract was histologically documented. The disease progressed rapidly and severe pancytopenia and recurrent upper gastrointestinal bleeding became the dominant problem. This case illustrates the challenge in establishing a diagnosis of ASM especially when the clinical picture is atypical and without skin involvement. Gastroenterologists should consider infiltrative disease, particularly systemic mastocytosis, as a differential diagnosis in a clinical case of portal hypertension of unknown etiology.

Prescription and Delivery of Enteral Nutrition for ICU Patients: A Case Study of a Hospital in the Interior of Brazil

Background: The objective of the present study was to evaluate during one year the total delivery of volume, calories, and proteins and compare them with the total prescribed to ICU patients using ENT (Enteral Nutrition Therapy) exclusively. Methods: Data on the prescribed or infused volume, calories, and protein, as well as their respective needs for each individual, were collected. Anthropometric parameters and age data were also collected from the medical records of 41 patients admitted to the intensive care unit. Results: Prescribed versus infused enteral diet volume was presented in 5 weeks which corresponds to the maximum duration of ICU treatment. Regarding sampling, the majority corresponded to elderly people (>64 years old) and males (63.4%). The total average prescribed was 719.2 mL of enteral diet on an average of 649.7 mL delivered. In addition, there was no significant difference between the prescribed and delivered volume, caloric value, and protein content of the diet only in the last week of hospitalization, which corresponded to the range of 29 - 36 days. Several factors make it difficult to reach the patient’s caloric and protein recommendations. Most of the reasons are not recorded, corresponding to 57.1%, indicating the difficulty of assessing the inadequacy of the prescribed and delivered volume. Conclusion: To our knowledge, this is the first time that a prescription vs. delivery assessment has been carried out for patients in the Brazilian Midwest. In addition, although our research is a difficulty reported worldwide (in most hospitals), we also provide opportunities for how the problem was solved in our case, which may contribute to other cases.

Intracranial Hemorrhage in Newborn with TAR Syndrome—A Feared Complication

The thrombocytopenia-absent radius (TAR) syndrome is an autosomal recessive disease characterized by bilateral absence of radius with the presence of both thumbs and thrombocytopenia, many times associated with cardiac anomalies, intolerance or allergy to cow’s milk and phocomelia. Imaging study is important for the correct diagnosis at birth and documentation of one of the diagnosis criteria (absence of radius) in prenatal care. The main hematologic symptoms and the most feared of them, intracranial bleeding, occurs when platelets levels are below 10,000/mm3, which is more common during the first months. Therefore, imaging study is crucial to quickly identify complications and correctly manage the case. In this case report, the patient had upper limps alterations at birth and at first week presented seizures, with transfontanellar ultrasound and head computed tomography without contrast demonstrating intracranial hemorrhage. Laboratory results and imaging review were able to diagnose TAR syndrome. The patient was treated with platelets transfusion and thrombocytopenia was solved. She is currently under specialized medical care, with no neurological deficits and showing satisfactory development.

Urinary bladder cancer(UBC)is a heterogeneous disease with highly variable clinical outcomes and responses to *** some advances in the molecular understanding of UBC,this knowledge still has not been translated to the clinic in terms of improvements in the prognosis and treatment of *** urinary bladder tumor models representative of the human disease in terms of histology and behavior are needed to study factors involved in tumor initiation,progression and ***,accurate model systems would facilitate identification of new therapeutic targets and predictive markers that could lead to optimization of existing therapies and development of new *** established cancer cell lines derived from human urinary bladder tumors representing different grades and stages have been used as experimental models for UBC *** cell lines reflect some of the genetic and morphologic alterations observed in human urothelial carcinoma and serve as simplified models to study the behavior of cancer cells in ***,their translational potential is limited due to the artificial conditions,in which the cells are maintained,grown and *** models offer a more complex and realistic model for the establishment,development,and progression of tumors as well as to evaluate new therapeutic *** the years,the authors'group has worked with several UBC cell lines,established and characterized chemically induced UBC models,and patient-derived xenografts *** this study,the authors will provide a summary of the UBC models developed by their group,analyze their translational potential and weaknesses,and define areas that remain to be explored.
