The Global Wheat Head Detection(GWHD)dataset was cr.ated in 2020 and has assembled 193,634 labelled wheat heads fr.m 4700 r.B images acquir.d fr.m var.ous acquisition platfor.s and 7 countr.es/institutions.With an associated competition hosted in Kaggle,GWHD_2020 has successfully attr.cted attention fr.m both the computer.vision and agr.cultur.l science communities.Fr.m this fir.t exper.ence,a few avenues for.impr.vements have been identified r.gar.ing data size,head diver.ity,and label r.liability.To addr.ss these issues,the 2020 dataset has been r.examined,r.labeled,and complemented by adding 1722 images fr.m 5 additional countr.es,allowing for.81,553 additional wheat heads.We now r.lease in 2021 a new ver.ion of the Global Wheat Head Detection dataset,which is bigger.mor. diver.e,and less noisy than the GWHD_2020 ver.ion.
