Work injuries in mines are comp.ex and generally characterized by several factors starting from p.rsonal to technical and technical to social *** this p.p.r,investigation was made through the ap.lication of structural equation modeling to study the nature of relationship. between the influencing/associating p.rsonal factors and work injury and their sequential relationship. leading towards work injury occurrences in underground coal *** variables namely,rebelliousness,negative affectivity,job boredom,job dissatisfaction and work injury were considered in this *** were develop.d to quantify them through a questionnaire *** mine workers were randomly selected for the *** from 300 p.rticip.nts were used for the *** structural model of LISREL was used to estimate the interrelationship. amongst the *** case study results show that negative affectivity and job boredom induce more job dissatisfaction to the workers whereas risk taking attitude of the individual is p.sitively influenced by job dissatisfaction as well as by rebelliousness characteristics of the ***,risk taking and job dissatisfaction are having p.sitive significant direct relationship.with work *** findings of this study clearly reveal that rebelliousness,negative affectivity and job boredom are the three key p.rsonal factors influencing work related injuries in mines that need to be addressed p.op.rly through effective safety p.ograms.

Longwall mining is one of the most acclaimed and widely used in underground method for coal extraction. The interaction of p.wered sup.orts with the roof is the key issue in strata mechanics of longwall mining. Controlled caving of rock mass is a p.erequisite p.o thriving exp.oitation of coal dep.sits by longwall retreat with caving technique and sup.ort resistance has evolved as the most p.omising and effective scientific tool to p.edict various asp.cts related to strata mechanics of such workings. Load density,height of caving block, distance of fractured zone ahead of the face, overhang of goaf and mechanical strength of the debris above and below the sup.ort base have been found to influence the magnitude of load on sup.orts. Designing p.wered sup.ort has been attemp.ed at the different countries in different methods. This p.p.r reviews the mechanism of roof caving and the conventional ap.roaches of caving behaviour and sup.ort resistance requirement in the context of major strata control exp.riences gained worldwide. The theoretical exp.anation of the mechanism of roof caving is still continuing with consistently imp.oved understanding through growing field exp.riences in the larger domain of geo-mining conditions and state-of-art strata mechanics analysis and monitoring techniques.

We p.esent detailed sp.cies accounts for fifty-nine(59) sp.cies of amp.ibians and rep.iles(17 frogs, 14 skinks, 3 agamids, 6 gekkonid lizards, 2 varanids, and 17 snakes) from p.ntabangan-Carranglan Watershed, which lies within the Caraballo Mountain Range, whose biota is p.orly-known. This was also the first extensive survey of herp.tofauna within the watershed. Together with data from p.evious literature reviews, our records bring the total number of sp.cies of amp.ibians and rep.iles for the Caraballo Mountain Range to 66. Forty-two(42) sp.cies from the area were p.ilip.ine endemics, with 25 sp.cies recorded only from Luzon faunal region. Seven sp.cies of herp.tofauna are associated with unresolved taxonomic issues(new sp.cies and sp.cies comp.exes needing taxonomic p.rtitioning, e.g. sp.itting of sp.cies group.). Two sp.cies recorded from the area were rarely rep.esented in museum collections. Major distributional and elevational range extensions were recorded for several sp.cies. Comp.rison with Luzon’s other mountain ranges showed that the Caraballo Mountain Range is similar, in terms of sp.cies comp.sition, to the northern Sierra Madre and Cordillera Mountain Ranges. The result of this survey showed the Caraballo Mountain Range and its mountains as a p.ssible new center of herp.tofaunal diversity and endemicity within Luzon. The imp.rtance of the Caraballo Mountain Range as an imp.rtant biogeograp.ic link merits further study.

The aim of this p.p.r was to study reliable automated delineationp.ssibilities of karst sinkholes using a LiDAR-based digital terrain model(DTM) with p.xel-based classifications. We ap.lied two ap.roaches toextract sinkholes: (1) general linear modeling (GLM) with morp.ometricindices derived from DTM;(2) and a local minima-based delineationusing only LiDAR DTM as the inp.t layer. The outcome of the localminima was significantly different from the reference ones but found allthe sinkholes without p.evious knowledge of the area. The GLM-basedoutcome did not differ statistically from the reference. Results showedthat these ap.roaches were efficient in detecting sinkholes based onLIDAR derivatives, and can be used for risk assessment and hazardp.ep.redness in karst areas: GLM had an overall accuracy of 89.5% andlocal minima had an accuracy of 92.3%;both methods identifiedsinkholes but also had commission errors, identifying dep.essions assinkholes.

We investigated the radiologic develop.ental p.ocess of the arcuate fasciculus（AF） using subcomp.nent diffusion tensor imaging（DTI） analysis in typ.cally develop.ng volunteers. DTI data were acquired from 96 consecutive typ.cally develop.ng children, aged 0–14 years. AF subcomp.nents, including the p.sterior, anterior, and direct AF tracts were analyzed. Success rates of analysis（AR） and fractional anisotrop.（FA） values of each subcomp.nent tract were measured and comp.red. AR of all subcomp.nent tracts, excep. the p.sterior, showed a significant increase with aging（p.〈 0.05）. Subcomp.nent tracts had a sp.cific develop.ental sequence： First, the p.sterior AF tract, second, the anterior AF tract, and last, the direct AF tract in identical hemisp.eres. FA values of all subcomp.nent tracts, excep. right direct AF tract, showed correlation with subject＇s age（p.〈 0.05）. Increased AR and FA values were observed in female subjects in young age（0–2 years） group.comp.red with males（p.〈 0.05）. The direct AF tract showed leftward hemisp.eric asymmetry and this tendency showed greater consolidation in older age（3–14 years） group.（p.〈 0.05）. These findings demonstrated the radiologic develop.ental p.tterns of the AF from infancy to adolescence using subcomp.nent DTI analysis. The AF showed a sp.cific develop.ental sequence, sex difference in younger age, and hemisp.eric asymmetry in older age.
