BACKg.OUND Tobacco use is a well-docum.nted m.difiable risk factor for perioperative *** To determ.ne the tobacco abstinence rates of patients who m.de cessation efforts prior to a total joint arthroplasty(TJA)*** A retrospective evaluation was perform.d on 88 self-reported tobacco users who underwent TJA between 2014-2022 and had tobacco cessation dates within 3 m. of *** patients were contacted via phone survey to understand their tobacco use pattern,and patient reported outcom.s.A total of 37 TJA patients *** Our cohort was on averag. 61-years-old,60%(n=22)wom.n,with an averag. body m.ss index of 30 kg.m.(2).The averag. follow-up tim. was 2.9±1.9 years.A total of 73.0%(n=27)of patients endorsed com.lete abstinence from.tobacco use prior to *** cessation m.thods were used perioperatively including.prescription therapy(13.5%),over the counter nicotine replacem.nt(18.9%),cessation prog.am.(5.4%).At final follow up,43.2%(n=16)of prior tobacco sm.kers reported com.lete *** who were able to m.intain cessation postoperatively had im.roved Patient-Reported Outcom.s m.asurem.nt Inform.tion System.PROm.S)-10 m.ntal health scores(49 vs 58;P=0.01),and hip dysfunction and osteoarthritis outcom. score for joint replacem.nt(***)scores(63 vs 82;P=0.02).No patients in this cohort had a prosthetic joint infection or required revision *** We report a tobacco cessation rate of 43.2%in patients underg.ing.elective TJA nearly 3 years *** underg.ing.TJA who were able to rem.in abstinent had im.roved PROm.S-10 m.ntal health scores and *** *** perioperative period provides clinicians a unique opportunity to assist active tobacco sm.kers with cessation efforts and im.rove postoperative outcom.s.

Backg.ound and Objectives:The cases of apparent natural deaths are encountered in the hospital casualties who are noted dead at the tim. of the first m.dical attention and as such are labeled as“Broug.t Dead.”These include the cases of sudden death,unexplained death,and unattended *** cause of such deaths is reported in the literature to em.nate principally from.the cardiovascular system.thoug. there are som. docum.nted g.og.aphical,racial,and other *** the present study,we endeavored to detect the cause of such natural deaths in term. of the disease and the org.n system.involved,in the deceased individuals of the contem.orary Beng.li population,with cases due to obvious unnatural causes being.*** and m.thods:An observational,cross-sectional study with 105(n=105,m.le:89,fem.le:16)study subjects of ag. g.oup of 20-80 years,selected by system.c random.sam.ling.from.the broug.t dead subjects com.ng.to the m.rtuary of the NRS m.dical Colleg. and Hospital for m.dicoleg.l autopsy from.April 2011 to m.rch 2012,excluding.cases having.a history of the obvious unnatural *** system.wise g.oss exam.nation was done,followed by tissue sam.ling.for histopatholog.cal *** case-wise finding. were tabulated and analyzed for descriptive statistics using.SPSS ***:In the present study,89 cases were m.le(84.8%)and 16 cases were fem.le(15.2%),which reflects a m.le:fem.le ratio of 5.56:*** dead bodies are m.stly recovered from.the footpaths(47 cases,44%).Sixty-four(61%)cases are of known *** 54 cases out of 105(51.4%),m.rbid patholog. is detected in the respiratory system.RS),lobar pneum.nia,and cavitary pulm.nary tuberculosis being.the m.st frequent disease entity,in both ***-one years-sixty-five years is found to be the m.st com.only affected ag. g.oup,in both *** and Conclusions:The present study shows that the m.st com.on org.n system.involved in broug.t dead cases is the RS,which is s

m.ltispecies forests have received increased scientific attention,driven by the hypothesis that biodiversity im.roves ecolog.cal ***,a g.eater species diversity presents challeng.s for forest m.nag.m.nt and *** study aim. to develop basal area g.owth m.dels for tree species *** analysis is based on a dataset of 423 perm.nent plots(2,500 m.(2))located in tem.erate forests in Durang.,***,we define tree species cohorts based on individual and neig.borhood-based variables using.a com.ination of principal com.onent and cluster ***,we estim.te the basal area increm.nt of each cohort throug. the g.neralized additive m.del to describe the effect of tree size,com.etition,stand density and site *** principal com.onent and cluster analyses assig. a total of 37 tree species to eig.t cohorts that differed prim.rily with reg.rd to the distribution of tree size and vertical position within the *** g.neralized additive m.dels provide satisfactory estim.tes of tree g.owth for the species cohorts,explaining.between 19 and 53 percent of the total variation of basal area increm.nt,and hig.lig.t the following.results:i)m.st cohorts show a"rise-and-fall"effect of tree size on tree g.owth;ii)surprising.y,the com.etition index"basal area of larg.r trees"had showed a positive effect in four of the eig.t cohorts;iii)stand density had a neg.tive effect on basal area increm.nt,thoug. the effect was m.nor in m.dium.and hig.-density stands,and iv)basal area g.owth was positively correlated with site quality except for an oak *** developed species cohorts and g.owth m.dels provide insig.t into their particular ecolog.cal features and g.owth patterns that m.y support the developm.nt of sustainable m.nag.m.nt strateg.es for tem.erate m.ltispecies forests.

Surface-active polym.rs are of substantial im.ortance in m.ny diverse aspects of m.dern technolog., with applications rang.ng.from.solid phase chem.cal synthesis related to drug.discovery and chem.cal catalysis to biocom.atible/bioactive m.dical im.lants and prostheses, and to surface-m.dified fabrics. Whilst there are a num.er of existing.physical (e. g. corona or plasm. discharg., ion beam.irradiation[1] ) and chem.cal (e. ***, oxidation, chlorination, acylation and quaternisation[2-4]) m.thods for the surface m.dification of polym.rs, the frequent requirem.nt for sig.ificant infrastructure, harsh reaction conditions, and lim.tation to specific polym.r types (e. g. polybutadiene[5] ), which m.st possess suitable chem.cal functionality capable of direct m.dification, led us to consider alternative chem.cal m.thods. Desirable was an alternative that would be am.nable to a larg. rang. of polym.rs, perm.tting.direct chem.cal m.dification under m.ld conditions and using.inexpensive reag.nts.

陌生人间的合作行为对于解决社会公共问题,应对世界百年未有之大变局意义重大。本研究采用横断历史元分析方法,基于1999~2019年间开展的254项使用社会困境范式测量我国陌生人间合作行为的研究(共302个合作率,29249名被试,平均年龄:18~28岁),探讨了中国社会中合作行为的变迁及一些社会发展指标在其中的解释作用,并比较中美两国的合作行为变迁趋势。结果表明,中国人的合作行为水平随时间而上升,一些社会发展指标(人均国内生产总值、城市化率、高等教育水平、互联网普及率等)可能是其上升的社会变迁基础。中美两国合作行为表现出相似的上升趋势,但中国的在更短时间内有更大上升幅度。研究结果对提振民众信心具有重要意义。
