BACKGROUND Tobacco use is a well-docum.nted m.difiable risk factor for perioperative *** To determ.ne the tobacco abstinence rates of patients who m.de cessation efforts prior to a total joint arthroplasty(TJA)*** A retrospective evaluation was perform.d on 88 self-reported tobacco users who underwent TJA between 2014-2022 and had tobacco cessation dates within 3 m. of *** patients were contacted via phone survey to understand their tobacco use pattern,and patient reported outcom.s.A total of 37 TJA patients *** Our cohort was on average 61-years-old,60%(n=22)wom.n,with an average body m.ss index of 30 kg/m.(2).The average follow-up tim. was 2.9±1.9 years.A total of 73.0%(n=27)of patients endorsed com.lete abstinence from.tobacco use prior to *** cessation m.thods were used perioperatively including prescription therapy(13.5%),over the counter nicotine replacem.nt(18.9%),cessation program.(5.4%).At final follow up,43.2%(n=16)of prior tobacco sm.kers reported com.lete *** who were able to m.intain cessation postoperatively had im.roved Patient-Reported Outcom.s m.asurem.nt Inform.tion System.PROm.S)-10 m.ntal health scores(49 vs 58;P=0.01),and hip dysfunction and osteoarthritis outcom. score for joint replacem.nt(***)scores(63 vs 82;P=0.02).No patients in this cohort had a prosthetic joint infection or required revision *** We report a tobacco cessation rate of 43.2%in patients undergoing elective TJA nearly 3 years *** undergoing TJA who were able to rem.in abstinent had im.roved PROm.S-10 m.ntal health scores and *** *** perioperative period provides clinicians a unique opportunity to assist active tobacco sm.kers with cessation efforts and im.rove postoperative outcom.s.

m.ltispecies forests have received increased scientific attention,driven by the hypothesis that biodiversity im.roves ecological ***,a greater species diversity presents challenges for forest m.nagem.nt and *** study aim. to develop basal area growth m.dels for tree species *** analysis is based on a dataset of 423 perm.nent plots(2,500 m.(2))located in tem.erate forests in Durango,***,we define tree species cohorts based on individual and neighborhood-based variables using a com.ination of principal com.onent and cluster ***,we estim.te the basal area increm.nt of each cohort through the generalized additive m.del to describe the effect of tree size,com.etition,stand density and site *** principal com.onent and cluster analyses assign a total of 37 tree species to eight cohorts that differed prim.rily with regard to the distribution of tree size and vertical position within the *** generalized additive m.dels provide satisfactory estim.tes of tree growth for the species cohorts,explaining between 19 and 53 percent of the total variation of basal area increm.nt,and highlight the following results:i)m.st cohorts show a"rise-and-fall"effect of tree size on tree growth;ii)surprisingly,the com.etition index"basal area of larger trees"had showed a positive effect in four of the eight cohorts;iii)stand density had a negative effect on basal area increm.nt,though the effect was m.nor in m.dium.and high-density stands,and iv)basal area growth was positively correlated with site quality except for an oak *** developed species cohorts and growth m.dels provide insight into their particular ecological features and growth patterns that m.y support the developm.nt of sustainable m.nagem.nt strategies for tem.erate m.ltispecies forests.

陌生人间的合作行为对于解决社会公共问题,应对世界百年未有之大变局意义重大。本研究采用横断历史元分析方法,基于1999~2019年间开展的254项使用社会困境范式测量我国陌生人间合作行为的研究(共302个合作率,29249名被试,平均年龄:18~28岁),探讨了中国社会中合作行为的变迁及一些社会发展指标在其中的解释作用,并比较中美两国的合作行为变迁趋势。结果表明,中国人的合作行为水平随时间而上升,一些社会发展指标(人均国内生产总值、城市化率、高等教育水平、互联网普及率等)可能是其上升的社会变迁基础。中美两国合作行为表现出相似的上升趋势,但中国的在更短时间内有更大上升幅度。研究结果对提振民众信心具有重要意义。
