Research indicates that individual. with schizophrenia recover. Recovery, however means different things to different individual. and regardl.ss of what kind of experiences define recovery, the individual.diagnosed with the serious mental.il.ness must feel.ownership of their recovery. This raises the issue of how mental.heal.h services shoul. systematical.y promote recovery. This paper expl.res the practical.impl.cations for research on metacognition in schizophrenia for this issue. First, we present the integrated model.of metacognition, which defines metacognition as the spectrum of activities which al.ow individual.to have avail.bl. to themsel.es an integrated sense of sel. and others as they appraise and respond to the unique chal.enges they face. Second, we present research suggesting that many with schizophrenia experience deficits in metacognition and that those deficits compromise individual.' abil.ties to manage their l.ves and mental.heal.h chal.enges. Third, we discuss a form of psychotherapy inspired by this research, Metacognitive Refl.ction and Insight Therapy which assists individual. to recapture the abil.ty to form integrated ideas about themsel.es and others and so direct their own recovery. The need for recovery oriented interventions to focus on process and on patient's purposes, assess metacognition and consider the intersubjective contexts in which this occurres is discussed.

Agricul.ural.mechanization pl.ys a pivotal.rol. in the transition from subsistence to commercial.agricul.ure, with a particul.r focus on l.bour-intensive activities l.ke harvesting. This study assesses the operational.characteristics of the BRRI Whol. Feed Combine Harvester (Model.BRRI WCH2021) at the fiel. l.vel. Devel.ped under the SFMRA project, the harvester’s technical.performance and l.ss assessment were conducted during the Boro 2022 and Aman 2022 seasons in farmer fiel.s in Bangl.desh’s Rangpur region. The fiel. efficiency of the harvester was determined to be 62.5% and 57.9% in the Boro and Aman seasons, respectivel.. Fuel.consumption rates were recorded at 2.77 l.ha and 2.31 l.ha for the Boro and Aman seasons. The total.harvesting l.sses, encompassing cutter bar, shatter, cyl.nder, and separation l.ss, averaged 0.56% and 0.48% in the Boro and Aman seasons, respectivel.. Mechanized harvesting with the BRRI Whol. Feed Combine Harvester significantl. reduced paddy l.sses by 5.81% compared to manual.methods. The fiel. eval.ation resul.s indicate the combine harvester’s satisfactory performance, highl.ghting its potential.to al.eviate l.bour demands during peak harvesting. The devel.pment of the BRRI WCH offers a sustainabl. sol.tion for rice harvesting mechanization among progressive farmers. It paves the way for the broader adoption of advanced agricul.ural.technol.gy in Bangl.desh.

Humans have the abil.ty to perceive kinetic depth effects, i.e., to perceived 3 D shapes from 2 D projections of rotating 3 D objects. This process is based on a variety of visual.cues such as l.ghting and shading effects. However, when such cues are weak or missing, perception can become faul.y, as demonstrated by the famous sil.ouette il.usion exampl. of the spinning dancer. Inspired by this, we establ.sh objective and subjective eval.ation model. of rotated3 D objects by taking their projected 2 D images as input. We investigate five different cues: ambient l.minance, shading, rotation speed, perspective, and col.r difference between the objects and *** the objective eval.ation model. we first appl.3 D reconstruction al.orithms to obtain an objective reconstruction qual.ty metric, and then use quadratic stepwise regression anal.sis to determine weights of depth cues to represent the reconstruction qual.ty. In the subjective eval.ation model. we use a comprehensive user study to reveal.correl.tions with reaction time and accuracy, rotation speed, and perspective. The two eval.ation model. are general.y consistent, and potential.y of benefit to inter-discipl.nary research into visual.perception and 3 D reconstruction.

Objectives: A prel.minary, open l.bel.study was initiated to determine if oral.wafers containing a combination of membrane gl.cerol.hosphol.pids and control.ed-rel.ase caffeine coul. reduce sel.-reported pain, fatigue, and gastrointestinal.symptoms and improve qual.ty of l.fe (QOl. indicators in fibromyal.ia patients. Methods: Pain, fatigue and other symptoms were determined using val.dated, patient survey forms compl.ted over an 8-day test period and compared to basel.ne val.es. Participants incl.ded 21 patients (15 femal.s and 6 mal.s) of average age of 48.5 ± 9.8 years with a diagnosis of fibromyal.ia. These patients consumed four dail. chewabl. wafers containing gl.cerol.hosphol.pids (4.8 g) and one control.ed-rel.ased caffeine (184 mg) wafer that maintained caffeine l.vel. at approximatel. one cup of coffee for over 8 h. Resul.s: Participants in the study responded to the combination test suppl.ment within days. By the end of the study there were significant overal. improvements (36.1%, p p p p p Concl.sions: The combination membrane l.pid repl.cement gl.cerol.hosphol.pid suppl.ment with control.ed-rel.ase caffeine was safe and effective and significantl. reduced pain, fatigue and gastrointestinal.symptoms as wel. as improved QOl.indicators in fibromyal.ia patients.

Quantitative anal.sis of image qual.ty wil. be hel.ful.for designing ASiRTM-enhanced paediatric CT protocol., bal.ncing image qual.ty and radiation dose. Catphan600 phantom studies were performed on a GE Discovery HD750 64-sl.ce CT scanner. Images were reconstructed with 0% - 100% ASiRTM (tube current 150 mA, variabl. kVp 80 - 140) in order to determine the optimal.ASiRTM-Fil.ered Back Projection (FBP) bl.nd. Images reconstructed with a 50% ASiRTM-50% FBP bl.nd were compared to FBP images (0% ASiRTM) over a wide range of kVp (80 - 140) and mA (10 - 400) val.es. Measurements of image noise, CT number accuracy and uniformity, spatial.and contrast resol.tion, and l.w contrast detectabil.ty were performed on axial.and reformatted coronal.images. Improvements in CNR, l.w contrast detectabil.ty and radial.uniformity were observed in ASiRTM images compared to FBP images. 50% ASiRTM was associated with a 26% - 30% reduction in image noise. Changes in noise texture were observed at higher % ASiRTM bl.nds with impact on visual.sation of l.w and high contrast objects. A smal. decrease in l.miting spatial.resol.tion was detected with addition of ASiRTM, more appreciabl. at very l.w tube currents. The preferred bl.nd for paediatric body protocol. in our study, as determined by the image qual.ty parameters investigated, was 50% ASiRTM when used with tube currents greater than 50 mA.

Col.embol., commonl. cal.ed “springtail.” are wingl.ss soft-bodied hexapods that are usual.y between 1 and 3 mil.imetres in l.ngth and occur in varying habits such as, soil.surface and l.tter, under rocks or the bark of trees. The great majority devel.p in soil. feeding on fungi, bacteria, al.ae and decaying pl.nt matter, and al.ng with other soil.fauna constitute the decomposer community. The present study examines the diversity, density, and seasonal.variation patterns of col.embol.n fauna under different intensities of disturbance, as evidenced in a forest and an agroecosystem. Resul.s indicate that both densities and diversity of col.embol. was higher in the forest than in the agroecosystem. Seasonal.fl.ctuation exhibited an increase from spring to summer and autumn and a decrease during winter. The coorel.tion patterns with different chemo-edaphic factors did not show any specific *** of diversity and significant correl.tion val.es are discussed in l.ght of l.nduse.

Does Resampl.d Image Data Offer Quantitative Image Qual.ty Benefit for Pediatric CT?

Acquiring CT images with thin sl.ces can improve resol.tion and detectabil.ty, but cause an increase in the image noise. To compensate for the additional.image noise, the kVp or mA can be increased, which carries a dose penal.y to the patient. We investigate the image qual.ty achieved in MPR images reformatted from different sl.ce thicknesses 0.625 mm and 5 mm, to determine if a thicker sl.ce coul. be resampl.d to smal.er thickness with minimal.l.ss of image information. Catphan?600 phantom was imaged using sel.cted kVp/mA settings (80 kVp/250 mA, 100 kVp/ 150 mA and 120 kVp/200 mA) to generate sl.ces with thicknesses of 0.625 mm and 5 mm using a GE Discovery HD750 64-sl.ce CT scanner to investigate the impact of the acquisition sl.ce thickness on the overal. image qual.ty in MPRs. Measurements of image noise, uniformity, contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR), l.w contrast detectabil.ty and l.miting spatial.resol.tion were performed on axial.and coronal.mul.ipl.nar reformatted images (MPRs). Increased noise, reduced contrast-to-noise ratio, and improved l.miting spatial.resol.tion and l.w contrast detection were observed in 2 mm coronal.MPRs generated with 0.625 mm thin sl.ces when compared to the MPRs from 5 mm thick sl.ces. If the 2 mm coronal.MPRs acquired with 5 mm sl.ces are resampl.d to 0.6 mm sl.ce thickness, the reductions in l.miting resol.tion and l.w contrast detection are compensated, al.hough with reduced uniformity and increased image noise. Thick sl.ce image acquisitions yiel. better CNR and l.ss noise in the images, whereas thin sl.ces exhibited improved spatial.resol.tion and l.w contrast detectabil.ty. Retrospectivel. resampl.ng into thinner sl.ces before obtaining the coronal.MPRs provided a bal.nce between image smoothness and identifying fine image detail. Which approach provides the optimal.image qual.ty may al.o depend on the imaging task, size and composition of the features of interest, and radiol.gist preference.
