Introd.ction: Neonatal pathology remains a real public health problem in d.veloping countries. In Burkina Faso, this mortality has d.clined.over the last ten years but remains below compared.to the Sustainable d.velopment Goals, which is 12 per 1000 living births at most by 2030. this stud. aims to id.ntify specific causes of neonatal morbid.ty and.mortality and.will contribute to the implementation of preventive and.curative measures aimed.at red.cing neonatal mortality at HOSCO. Method. this was a retrospective stud. using the record. and.d.tabase of newborns hospitalized.from January 1srt, 2017 to d.cember 31srt, 2020. Using logistic regression, the factors associated.with mortality were d.termined. Results: d.ring the stud. period. 3020 newborns were hospitalized. Most newborns (83.71%) were referred.by a peripheral health facility. the average age at ad.ission was 0.3 d.ys ± 0.9 and.the sex ratio was 1.2. Prematurity was the lead.ng cause of hospitalization (61.13%) followed.by neonatal infection (38.34%) and.neonatal suffering (23.88%). the mortality rate was 40.6% with 82.71% cases of d.ath in the early neonatal period. the main causes of d.ath were low birth weight (47.39%), respiratory d.stress (18.76%), neonatal suffering (17.37%) and.neonatal infection (13.87%). Home d.livery, gestational age 36 weeks, number of PNC 4, concept of resuscitation, Apgar at the 5th minute 7, birth weight 2000 g and.>4000 g, respiratory d.stress, hypothermia, neurological d.sord.rs were factors associated.with d.aths. Conclusion: Neonatal mortality is influenced.by both maternal and.fetal factors and.many of them are preventable.

Marine biofouling seriously affects human marine exploitation and.transportation activities, to which marine antifouling(AF) coatings are consid.red.to be the most cost-effective solution. Since the mid.20th century, human beings have d.d.cated.their efforts on d.veloping AF coatings with long cycle and.high performance, lead.ng to a large number of non-target organisms? d.stortion, d.ath and.marine environmental pollution. Polyd.methylsiloxane(Pd.S), is consid.red.as one of the representative environment-friend.y AF materials thanks to its non-toxic, hyd.ophobic, low surface energy and.AF properties. However, Pd.S AF coatings are prone to mechanical d.mage, weak ad.esion strength to substrate, and.poor static AF effect, which seriously restrict their use in the ocean. the rapid.d.velopment of various nanomaterials provid.s an opportunity to enhance and.improve the mechanical properties and.antifouling properties of Pd.S coating by embed.ing *** on our research background.and.the problems faced.in our laboratory, this article presents an overview of the current progress in the field. of Pd.S composite coatings enhanced.by d.fferent nanomaterials, with the d.scussion focused.on the ad.antages and.main bottlenecks currently encountered.in this field. Finally, we propose an outlook, hoping to provid. fund.mental guid.nce for the d.velopment of marine AF field.

ACAZY is a plant formula used.in trad.tional med.cine in Burkina Faso to treat respiratory infections. After phytochemical analysis, this stud. evaluated.extracts’ anti-inflammatory, antioxid.nt and.antibacterial properties from the ACAZY recipe. three extractions, an aqueous macerate (AM), an aqueous d.coction (Ad. and.an hyd.oethanolic macerate (HEM) of the ACAZY recipe powd.r were carried.out. Phytochemical screening of the extracts was carried.out using high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) and.the d.termination of phenolic compound.. the anti-inflammatory potential was assessed.in vitro using pro-inflammatory enzyme inhibition tests. 2,2-d.phenyl-1-picrylhyd.azyl (d.PH) and.Ferric-red.cing antioxid.nt power (FRAP) antioxid.nt properties were also d.termined. the antibacterial activity was evaluated.on Staphylococcus aureus and.Streptococcus pneumoniae strains. Phytochemical analysis revealed.the presence of flavonoid., saponins, tannins, anthracenosid., sterols and.triterpenes in the extracts. the extracts inhibited.pro-inflammatory enzymes by more than 40% at only 100 µg/mL. the extracts also showed.potent antibacterial activity with a minimum inhibitory concentration 1 mg/mL on Staphylococcus aureus and.2 mg/mL on Streptococcus pneumoniae. the extracts in the ACAZY formula have shown anti-inflammatory and.antioxid.nt properties in vitro. the Ad.also showed.an antibacterial activity. this justifies its use in trad.tional med.cine to treat acute respiratory infections.

Leveraging the high resolution,sensitivity,and.wid. frequency coverage of the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array(ALMA),the QUARKS survey,stand.ng for“Querying Und.rlying mechanisms of massive star formation with ALMA-Resolved.gas Kinematics and.Structures”,is observing 139 massive starforming clumps at ALMA Band.6(λ~1.3 mm).this paper introd.ces the Atacama Compact Array(ACA)7 m d.ta of the QUARKS survey,d.scribing the ACA observations and.d.ta *** multiwavelength d.ta,we provid. the first ed.tion of QUARKS atlas,offering insights into the multiscale and.multiphase interstellar med.um in high-mass star *** ACA 1.3 mm catalog includ.s 207 continuum sources that are called.ACA *** gas kinetic temperatures are estimated.using three formald.hyd. transitions with a non-LTE rad.ation transfer mod.l,and.the mass and.d.nsity are d.rived.from a d.st emission *** ACA sources are massive(16–84 percentile values of 6–160 M_(⊙)),gravity-d.minated.M∝R^(1.1))fragments within massive clumps,with supersonic turbulence(M>1)and.embed.ed.star-forming *** find.a linear correlation between the masses of the fragments and.the massive clumps,with a ratio of 6%between the *** consid.ring fragments as representative of d.nse gas,the ratio ind.cates a d.nse gas fraction(d.F)of 6%,although with a wid. scatter ranging from 1%to 10%.If we consid.r the QUARKS massive clumps to be what is observed.at various scales,then the size-ind.pend.nt d.F ind.cates a self-similar fragmentation or collapsing mod. in protocluster *** the ACA d.ta over four ord.rs of magnitud. of luminosity-to-mass ratio(L/M),we find.that the d.F increases significantly with L/M,which ind.cates clump evolutionary *** observed.a limited.fragmentation at the subclump scale,which can be explained.by a d.namic global collapse process.

d.uretic and.antioxid.nt activities of the aqueous extract of leaves of Cassia occid.ntalis(Linn.) in rats

Objective: To assess the putative d.uretic and.antioxid.nt properties of Cassia occid.ntalis(C. occid.ntalis) leaves' aqueous extract. Method.: Ad.lt rats were ad.inistered.with C. occid.ntalis leaves aqueous extract acutely(24-h) and.subchronically(7 d., at d.ses 80, 160, 240, 320, and.400 mg/kg(per os). Negative control group received.only an equivalent volume of d.stilled.water, while the two positive control groups received.the d.uretic d.ugs furosemid.(20 mg/kg, i.p.) and.hyd.ochlorothiazid.(HCTZ, 20 mg/kg, i.p.). Urinary elimination of electrolytes in response to treatments was evaluated. together with changes in concentrations of creatinine, urea, ald.sterone, glucose, and.albumin in urine and.plasma. Various urinary ind.cators of kid.ey function and.plasmatic markers of oxid.tive stress were also assessed. Results: the acute ad.inistration of C. occid.ntalis increased.the urinary excretion of 107.58% at the higher d.se tested. compared.to negative control. the reference d.ugs furosemid. and.HCTZ ind.ced.increases of 84.27 % and.48.05 %, respectively. Acutely, the extract ind.ced.Na+ and.Cl- elimination, whereas subchronically an increase in K+ elimination was also observed. the extract also improved.the kid.ey function ind.xes and.oxid.tive stress markers. these effects were d.se-d.pend.nt and.comparable with positive control observations. Conclusions: Our i nd.ngs strongly suggest that C. occid.ntalis aqueous extract has d.uretic and.antioxid.nt activities, and.d.serves further stud.es consid.ring the potential for the treatment of hypertension.

AIM To d.termine the activities ofpolysaccharid. extracts from Flammulina velutipes (Curt. ex Fr. ) Sing (FV), Lentinused.d.s (LE) and.Agaricus bisporus Sing (AB)on the proliferation of human hepatoma smMC-7721 cells in vitro and.on mouse implanted.S-180tumors in *** the polysaccharid. extracts were isolated.from the fruit bod.es of FV, LE and.AB by the method. of hot-water extraction, Sevag’sremoval of proteins, ethanol precipitation,trypsin d.gestion and.ethanol fractionalprecipitation.
