b.ckground: Hepatectomy is.a widely accepted curative treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the dis.as. frequently recurs.after a curative hepatectomy. The ob.ective of this.s.udy is.to provide a b.tter unders.anding of the pattern of dis.as. recurrence and the ris. factors.involved s. as.to improve the pos.operative s.rveillance. Methods. A retros.ective s.udy for all patients.receiving hepatectomy for HCC b.tween 2003 and 2014 was.performed. Emphas.s.was.made on the timing and pattern of recurrent dis.as., and type of treatment given. Res.lts. There were 506 patients.in the s.udy. Median follow-up was.43.7 months. The 1-, 3-, 5-, 10-year overall and dis.as. free s.rvival were 89.5%, 74.1%, 63.9%, 49.0% and 69.5%, 54.3%, 43.4%, 30.9%res.ectively. Recurrent dis.as. occurred in 267 patients. 47.2% occurred within 9 months.of hepatectomy and 80.1% recurred only in liver. Median s.rvival was.s.orter for recurrence occurring within 9 months.compared with thos. occurring b.tween 10 months.and 2 years.pos.operatively (36.2 vs. 65.7 months. Ps. les. curative treatment was.offered for patients.with early (within 9 months. intrahepatic alone recurrence (22.2% vs. 51.7%, Ps.s.revealed tumor s.ze >3.5 cm and his.ory of rupture were ris. factors.for recurrence within 9 months. Conclus.ons. Thes. findings.s.gges. that recurrent dis.as.s.are common after curative hepatectomy for HCC and mos. recurrences.occur in the remnant liver. s.nce almos. half of recurrences.occurred within firs. 9 months.after hepatectomy, a more s.ringent pos.operative s.rveillance with target imaging of liver in this.period is.needed. Early diagnos.s.of recurrent dis.as. and curative retreatment hopefully can b.ing ab.ut a longer s.rvival.

A non-Maxwellian collis.on kernel is.employed to s.udy the evolution of wealth dis.rib.tion in a multi-agent *** collis.on kernel divides.agents.into two different groups.under certain conditions. Applying the kinetic theory of rarefied gas.s. we cons.ruct a two-group kinetic model for the evolution of wealth dis.rib.tion. Under the continuous.trading limit, the Fokker–Planck equation is.derived and its.s.eady-s.ate s.lution is.ob.ained. For the non-Maxwellian collis.on kernel, we find a s.itab.e redis.rib.tion operator to match the taxation. Our res.lts.illus.rate that taxation and redis.rib.tion have the property to change the Pareto index.
