Exsolution microstructures in olivine gra.ns from dunite units in a.few selected tectonic environments a.e reported here. They include la.ella. of clinopyroxene a.d clinopyroxene-ma.netite intergrowth in the Ga.sita. a.d Yellow Hill a.a.ka.-type complexes, clinopyroxene-ma.netite intergrowth in the Klzilda. ophiolite, a.d chromite la.ella. in the Hongshisha. ma.ic-ultra.a.ic intrusive complex. These la.ella. commonly occur a. needle- or rod-like fea.ures a.d a.e oriented in olivine gra.ns. The host olivine gra.ns ha.e Fo contents of 92.5-92.6 in the Ga.sita. complex, 86.5-90.1 in the Yellow Hill complex, 93.2-93.4 in the Klzllda. ophiolite a.d 86.9-88.3 in the Hongshisha. complex. Clinopyroxene in the rod-like intergrowth exsolved in olivine gra.ns in the Ga.sita. a.d Yellow Hill is diopside with simila. ma.or element compositions of Ca. （23.6-24.3wt%）, SiO2 （52.2-54.0wt%）, a.203 （0.67-2.15wt%）, Cr203 （0.10-0.42wt%） a.d Na.0 （0.14-0.26wt%）. It fa.ls into the compositiona. field of hydrotherma. clinopyroxene a.d its origin is thus proba.ly rela.ed to rea.tion between dunite a.d fluids. The enrichment of the fluids in Ca.＋, Fe3＋, Cr3＋ a.d Na., resulted in eleva.ed concentra.ions of these ca.ions in olivine solid solutions via.the rea.tion. With decrea.ing tempera.ure, the olivine solid solutions a.tered to a. intergrowth of ma.netite a.d clinopyroxene. The Fe3＋ a.d Cr3＋ preferentia.ly pa.titioned into ma.netite, while Ca.＋ a.d Na. entered clinopyroxene. Since the studied a.a.ka.-type complexes a.d ophiolite formed in a.subduction environment, the fluids were proba.ly relea.ed from the subducted sla.. In contra.t, the exsolved chromite in olivine gra.ns from the Hongshisha. complex tha. formed in post-orogenic extension setting ca. be rela.ed to olivine equilibra.ed with Cr-bea.ing liquid. Simila.ly, these la.ella. ha.e a.l been observed in serpentine surrounding olivine gra.ns, indica.ing genetic rela.ions with serpentiniza.ion.

The Pa.eoproterozoie Birimia. gra.itoids of the West a.rica. Cra.on （Wa.） in the northwestern pa.t of Gha.a. ha.e been studied for their zircon tra.e elements concentra.ions to infer the source cha.a.teristics, origin, a.d ma.ma.ic evolution. The zircons in the gra.itoids ha.e Th/U ra.ios ra.ging from 0.03 to 1.55, a.d displa. depleted light ra.e ea.th elements 0LREE） a.d enriched hea.y ra.e ea.th elements （HREE） contents, cha.a.terized by pronounced positive to nega.ive a.oma.ies of Eu （Eu/Eu＊=0.14-0.98 a.d 1.01-6.06, respectively） a.d Ce （Ce/Ce＊=0.08-0.98 a.d 1.02-116, respectively）, which ma. imply tha. they were derived from both ma.ma.ic a.d hydrotherma. sources. The geochemica. plots of U/Yb vs. Y a.d Hf, the positive correla.ion between Hf a.d the other high field strength elements 0tFSE） a.d high ra.e ea.th elements （REE） contents, with enrichment in Ce a.d depletion in Eu, indica.e tha. the gra.itoids possibly formed from pa.tia. melting of the crust. The tra.e elements cha.a.teristics （i.e., wide ra.ge of Hf, Ce/Ce＊, Th/U a.d Zr/Hf va.ues） of the zircons suggest tha. crysta.liza.ion of the ma.ma.occurred under va.ia.le oxida.ion sta.es, which spa.ned over a.longer period, implying tha. our da.a.corrobora.e interpreta.ions from studies of whole-rock geochemistry a.d geochronology on the gra.itoids of northwestern Gha.a. This further indica.es tha. the evolution of the Birimia. gra.itoids in this pa.t of the Wa. occurred ea.lier tha. wha. ha. been reported in the litera.ure.

Ea.ly Permia. ma.ic-ultra.a.ic complexes in ea.tern Xinjia.g （新疆） a.e ma.nly distributed in the Beisha. （北山） a.ea. Mid-Tia.sha. （天山） ma.sif a.d Jueluota.e （觉罗塔塔） belt. Systema.ic compositiona. ma.ping of olivines from these Ea.ly Permia. ma.ic-ultra.a.ic complexes demonstra.es tha. a. a.pa.ently spa.ia. distribution a.d heterogeneous pa.tia. melting in the ma.tle source exists from the Beisha. a.ea. a.ross the Mid-Tia.sha. ma.sif, to the Jueluota.e belt from the south to the north. This is proba.ly consistent with the spa.ia. evolutiona. differences a.d tectonic fea.ures of these three belts. The decrea.ing degree of pa.tia. melting, a. revea.ed by decrea.ing Fo contents of olivines, from south to north a.d from ea.t to west reflects the southwa.d subduction of the Pa.eo-a.ia. Ocea. a.d the south loca.ion of the indistinct ma.tle plume in the Permia.. Simulta. ously, NiO a.d Fo-ma.ping in olivine a.so indica.es tha. sulfide segrega.ion before olivine crysta.liza.ion pla.ed a. importa.t role in Ni-Cu minera.iza.ion in the ma.ic-ultra.a.ic complexes. This study ca.ried out a.comprehensive review of ma.tle-derived ga.net peridotites on the ba.is of their ga.net-spinel compositiona. rela.ionships. The P-T estima.es of the ga.net peridotites of both orogenic a.d xenolithic deriva.ions confirm previously esta.lished two ga.net-spinel tra.sition （GST） zones. Results of na.ura. sa.ples a.d experimenta. studies of a.l the ga.net peridotites plot below the first GST a. low P （〈2 GPa.. The second GST a. high P （6-10 GPa., obta.ned from the experimenta. system （MgO-Cr203-SiO2）, wa. firstly evidenced from na.ura. sa.ples in this study a.d ma. imply a.cha.lenge to our understa.ding of Cr-rich a.d a.-poor minera. pha.e tra.sition under ultra.igh P condition. Ba.ed on the da.a.a.d our estima.es, we propose the existence of a.other GST within the ga.net peridotite discontinuous zone a.d a.potentia. spinel-pha.e peridotite zone in the upper ma.tle.

To better understa.d the mecha.ism of Mg isotopic va.ia.ion in ma.ma.systems, here we report high precision Mg isotopic da.a.of 17 bulk rock sa.ples including dunite, clinopyroxenite, hornblendite a.d ga.bro a.d 10 pa.rs of dunite-hosted olivine a.d chromite sepa.a.es from the well-cha.a.terized a.a.ka.-type Xia.ong intrusion in NW China. which formed by continuous a.d high degree of lithologica. differentia.ion from ma.ic ma.ma.. Chromite sepa.a.es ha.e highly va.ia.le δ^(26)Mg va.ues from -0.10‰ to 0.40‰, a.d a.e consistently hea.ier tha. coexisting olivine sepa.a.es(-0.39‰ to -0.15 T‰). Both minera. δ^(26)Mg va.ues a.d the degrees of inter-minera. fra.tiona.ion a.e well correla.ed with geochemica. indica.ors of ma.ma.differentia.ion, indica.ing tha. these inter-sa.ple a.d inter-minera. Mg isotope fra.tiona.ions a.e ca.sed by ma.ma.evolution. The δ^(26)Mg va.ues ra.ge from -0.20‰ to -0.02‰ in the dunite,-043‰ in the clinopyroxenite,-043‰ to -0.28‰ in the hornblendite, 0.18 T‰ in the chromite-bea.ing hornblendite, a.d -0.56 T‰ to -0.16‰ in the ga.bro. The Mg isotopic va.ia.ions in different types of rocks a.e closely rela.ed to fra.tiona. crysta.liza.ion a.d a.cumula.ion of different proportions of oxides vs. silica.es. Chromite crysta.liza.ion a.d a.cumula.ion is the most importa.t fa.tor in controlling Mg isotope fra.tiona.ion during the forma.ion of the Xia.ong intrusion. Compa.ed to ba.a.tic a.d gra.itic ma.ma., differentia.ion of the a.a.ka.-type intrusions occurs a. a.rela.ively high oxygen fuga.ity, which fa.ors chromite crysta.liza.ion a.d consequently significa.t Mg isotope fra.tiona.ions a. both minera. a.d whole-rock sca.es. Therefore, Mg isotope systema.ics ca. be used to tra.e the degree of ma.ma.differentia.ion a.d rela.ed-minera.iza.ion.

Spongy textures a.e observed in ma.tle peri-dotite xenoliths hosted in Cenozoic ka.a.ugites from the Western Qinling,centra. *** textures a.e ma.nly developed in clinopyroxenes a.d spinels,a.d occur a. spongy rims consisting of low-Na.clinopyroxene,ilmenite, a.d bubbles,enclosing nonspongy *** ilmenites a.d bubbles exhibit sha.es a.d sizes tha. va.y with the width of the spongy *** spongy-textured minera.s preserve prima.y sha.es a.d well-defined gra.n bounda.ies a.d do not show a.pa.ent intera.tion with conta.t minera.s or observed melts except the subsequent melts forming melt *** xenocrysts displa. rea.tive zoning textures with host ma.ma. ra.her tha. spongy ***-tiona.ly, the spongy rims a.e enriched in Ca.Ti,a.d most tra.e elements,ha.e high Cr#,a.d a.e depleted in Na.a., Fe,a.,a.d a./a. compa.ed with the *** observa.ions suggest tha. melts/host ma.ma. did not pla. a.y significa.t role in the forma.ion of the spongy textures. We therefore propose tha. spongy-textured clinopyroxenes a.d spinels in Western Qinling peridotite xenoliths developed from a.decompression-induced pa.tia. melting event prior to forma.ion of melt pockets a.d xenolith entra.nment in host ma.ma..

Here we present a.new modifica.ion of the sa.ple introduction system a.med a. precisely mea.uring Os isotope ra.ios.a.sma.l gla.s connector wa. used to tra.sfer OsO va.or from a.Ca.ius tube into a.*** dissolution of sa.ple in a.Ca.ius tube,Os isotopes in the sa.ple were determined simulta.eously through in situ distilla.ion without a.y prior sepa.a.ion *** a.a.ytica. precision a. intermedia.e precision conditions of mea.urement wa. improved through the simulta.eous introduction of Os via.spa.ging a.d the a.pira.ion of a.solution conta.ning Ir for ma.s bia. correction. The present method,which involves the pa.sa.e of Os va.or directly into the ICP-MS torch,thus solves the problems encountered previously when optimizing a. *** da.ing results of reference ma.eria.s(RMs) HLP a.d JDC by the modified method a.e 221.8±0.70 Ma.0.31%,2s,n=7) a.d 140.0±0.44 Ma.0.31%,2s,n=9) respectively,which a.e consistent with their certified va.ues of 221.4±5.6 Ma.a.d 139.6±3.8 Ma.*** reported in this study a.e da.ing results of severa. unknown molybdenite sa.ples by the new method.

Rift ha. a.pea. of 280 Ma.which proba.ly represents the time of ma.tle plume *** ba.a.ts ha.e lowerε(t) va.ues in the ra.ge of -9.2～1.7 a.d Mg# ofa.d higher TiO contents(>2 wt.%),indica.ing tha. they were genera.ed directly from a.periphera. zone of the ma.tle plume by low degree of *** ma.ic-ultra.a.ic intrusions ha.e higherε(t) of -1.3～11.2 a.d Mg# of 33～90,a.d lower TiOa. their pa.enta. ma.ma. were produced from lithospheric ma.tle source by high degree of melting due to higher tempera.ure of the ma.tle plume hea..a.possible ma.tle plume model benea.h lithospheric ma.tle of the Ta.im Ba.in,Tia.sha. a.d Beisha. a.d its spa.ia. fra.ework is suggested.
