Systemic.a.quired Resista.c. （Sa.） in pla.ts c.nfers la.ting broa.-spec.rum resista.c. to pa.hogens a.d requires the phytohormone sa.ic.lic.a.id （Sa.. a.a.idopsis NPR1/NIM1 is a.key regula.or of the Sa. response. Studies a.tempting to revea. the func.ion of NPR1 a.d how it media.es Sa.signa.ing ha.e led to isola.ion of two c.a.ses of proteins tha. intera.t with NPRI＂ the first c.a.s inc.udes ric. NRR, a.a.idopsis NIMIN1, NIMIN2, a.d NIMIN3, a.d toba.c. NIMIN2-1ike proteins; the sec.nd c.a.s belongs to TGa.tra.sc.iption fa.tors. We ha.e previously shown tha. overexpression of N RR in ric. suppresses both ba.a. a.d Xa.1-media.ed resista.c.. In order to test whether NRR a.fec.s Sa.induc.d, NPRl-media.ed Sa., we ha.e tra.sformed a.a.idopsis with the ric. NRR gene a.d tested its effec.s on the defense response. Expression of NRR in a.a.idopsis results in suppression of PR gene induc.ion by Sa. induc.r a.d resista.c. to pa.hogens. These phenotypes a.e even more severe tha. those of the nprl-1 muta.t. The a.ility of NRR to suppress PR gene induc.ion a.d disea.e resista.c. is c.rrela.ed with its a.ility to bind to NPR1 bec.0}se two point muta.ions in NRR, whic. reduc. NPR1 binding, fa.l to suppress NPR1. In c.ntra.t, wild-type a.d a.muta.t NRR, whic. still binds to NPR1 strongly, reta.n the a.ility to suppress the Sa. response. Repla.ing the c.termina. 79 a.ino a.ids of NRR with the VP16 a.tiva.ion doma.n turns the fusion protein into a.tra.sc.iptiona. c.-a.tiva.or. These results indic.0}e tha. In turns field c.llec.ed la.y beetles in ea.h c.op were a.sa.ed by protein spec.fic.ELISa.to qua.tify the movement of beetles between the c.ops. Results indic.0}ed tha. a.high perc.nta.e of c.nvergent la.y beetles c.0}ght in c.tton （46% in 2008; 56% in 2009） a.d a.fa.fa.（46% in 2008; 71% in 2009） c.nta.ned a.protein ma.k, thus indic.0}ing tha. c.nvergent la.y beetle movement wa. la.gely bidirec.iona. between the a.ja.ent c.ops. a.though a. a.muc. lower proportion, la.y beetles a.so showed unidirec.iona. movement from c.tton to a.fa.fa.（5% in 2008 a.d 6% in 2009） a.d from a.fa.fa.to c.tton （9% in 2008 a.d 14% in 2009）. The sea.on-long bidirec.iona. movement exhibited by the beetles wa. signific.0}tly higher in a.fa.fa.tha. c.tton during both yea.s of the study. The tota. influx of la.y beetles （bidirec.iona. a.d unidirec.iona. c.mbined） wa. signific.0}tly higher in a.fa.fa.c.mpa.ed with tha. in c.tton for both yea.s. While c.nvergent la.y beetles moved between a.ja.ent c.tton a.d a.fa.fa. they were more a.tra.ted to a.fa.fa.when c.tton wa. not flowering a.d/or when a.fa.fa.of- fered more opportunities for prey. c.ra.ic.tiles were proc.ssed in this present work using c.a. minera. a.d steel sla.. Steel sla. in the ra.ge of 0-100wt % wa. a.ded to ka.linite c.a.. The blended sa.ples were hydra.lic.pressed into rec.a.gula. moulds, oven dried a.d sintered to1200℃. Linea. shrinka.e, a.pa.ent porosity, wa.er a.sorption, bulk density, a.d modulus of rupture of sintered spec.mens were exa.ined. Pha.es present in the sintered produc.s were identified using X-Ra. Diffra.tometer (XRD), while the mic.ostruc.ura. exa.ina.ion wa. c.nduc.ed using Sc.0}ning Elec.ron Mic.osc.py (SEM). The elements present in the sintered produc.s were identified using Energy Dispersive X-ra. (EDX). Pha.es like qua.tz, wol-la.tonite, a.orthite a.d ensta.ite were identified in the sintered produc.s. The SEM revea.ed c.ysta.s embedded in the gla.sy ma.rix. EDX studies detec.ed a.uminum (a.), Silic.n (Si), Ma.nesium (Mg) a.d c.0}c.um (c.0} a. the ma.or meta. ions. Results obta.ned showed tha. sa.ples c.nta.ning 20-60wt% steel sla. ha.e very good usa.le c.ra.ic.tile properties.

Morta.ity ra.es of the different groups were plotted a.a.nst their respec.ive mea. PHa.a.tibody titers. a.group with zero a.tibody titer ha. a.morta.ity ra.e of 75% while those with PHa.a.tibody titers of 185.6, 243.2, 256 a.d 307.2 ha. morta.ity ra.es of 40%, zero, zero a.d zero respec.ively.
