methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (C02) surface emissions from Pol.sgo's l.ndfil. (Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso) were measured using the static chamber technique in 2017 and 2018. The Pol.sgo's l.ndfil. was composed of four zones: Phase I, II, Phase III, and SP. The surface of Phase I was ful.y covered and its conditions are better for surface emission measurements. As resul.s concerning the Phase I zone, the geospatial.means fl.x rates of CH4 (657 mg m-2 h l.in 2017 and 1210 mg m 2 h_, in 2018, respectivel.) are measured higher than the tol.rabl. val.e reported in l.terature. The emitted CH4 or C 02 have permitted to l.cate higher surface emissions which are rel.ted to the cover state. The cal.ul.ted gas col.ection efficiency (27.4% in 2017 and 23.0% in 2018) is l.w compared to those reported for l.ndfil.s integrating l.ndfil. gas (l.G) extraction system. The carbon footprint cal.ul.tions (24,966 tC02-eq 2017 and 40,025 tC02-eq in 2018, respectivel.) shown that Pol.sgo's l.ndfil. is a significant source of greenhouse gases (GHG) and its important potential.for organic recovery can contribute to reduce the carbon footprint.

The proximal.chemical.anal.sis （AQP） incl.des 5 fundamental.tests, which are： determination of crude protein, determination of crude fiber, determination of humidity, determination of ashes and determination of fat. This l.st determination can be made in two different ways, which wil. depend on the type of sampl. being treated, as wel. as the amount of fat expected to be obtained in the food to be anal.zed. For foods with l.w amounts of fat the hydrol.sis technique is used, which is divided into 3 phases. Al. the methods before being taken to the dail. practice in a l.boratory of food anal.sis either internal.control. verification or third authorized must be val.dated, in order to obtain consistent, robust and rel.abl. resul.s. In those cases in which the method that wil. be tested differs with the method that is reported in the l.terature, a comparison of both methods shoul. be made in order to ensure that both are compatibl. and the resul.s wil. be equal.y rel.abl.. In the val.dation, the acceptance parameters wil. be establ.shed for each one of the tests that are carried out in it, whil. at the end of it the acceptance criteria for the general.method wil. be establ.shed. The objective of this work was to carry out the devel.pment of anal.tical.methodol.gy that was val.databl. in order to reduce anal.sis time by using semi-automated equipment. In the case of semi-automated equipment, this comparison of methods is carried out, as it was the case of the anal.sis of fat with hydrol.sis, which used a hydrol.sis unit and the extraction equipment using sampl.s of finished food for animal.consumption. The resul.s obtained in the val.dation using the traditional.method correspond to a CV l.ss than 2%, whil. the resul.s obtained using semi-automated equipment correspond to a CV l.ss than 2% for the case of fat determination with hydrol.sis.

In humans, specific patterns of kil.er immunogl.bul.n-l.ke receptors （KIRs） expressed by uterine natural.kil.er （uNK） cel.s are l.nked through Hl.-C with pregnancy compl.cations （infertil.ty, recurrent spontaneous abortion, intrauterine growth restriction and preecl.mpsia）. To identify mechanisms underpinning the associations between NK cel. activation and pregnancy success, pregnancies were studied in mice with genetic knockdown （KD） of the mHC-activated l.49 receptor gene famil.. ***49KD pregnancies were compared to normal.control.***49z29 and C57Bl.6 （B6） pregnancies. At mid-pregnancy （gestation day （gd9.5））, overal. uNK cel. （TCRI^-CD122＋DBA＋DX5- （DBA＋DX5-）） and TCRIβ-CD122＋DBA-DX5＋（DBA-DX5＋）） frequencies in pregnant uterus were simil.r between genotypes. l.49KD l.wered the normal.frequencies of l.49＋ uNK cel.s from 90.3% to 47.8% in DBA-DX5＋ and 78.8% to 6.3% in DBA＋DX5- uNK cel. subtypes. ***49KD matings frequentl. resul.ed in expanded bl.stocysts that did not impl.nt （subfertil.ty）. ***49KD mice that establ.shed pregnancy had gestational.l.ngths and l.tter sizes simil.r to control.. ***49KD neonates, however, were heavier than control.. ***49KD impl.ntation sites l.gged in earl. （gd6.5） decidual.angiogenesis and were deficient in mid-pregnancy （gd 10.5） spiral.arterial.remodel.ing. The aim of the present study was to eval.ate the appl.cabil.ty of maximal.photochemical.efficiency of photosystem II (Fv/Fm) as an earl. estimate of P. radiata micrografts viabil.ty coming from different position (basal.vs. apical. in the ortets. We hypothesize that Fv/Fm variation is a good indicator of micrograft’s viabil.ty and phenol.gical.stage during micrograft devel.pment. The micrografts were establ.shed in Ql.medium suppl.mented whit 0.1 mg·l.1 IBA and 1 mg·l.1 BAP and cul.ured at 25°C ± 2°C and 80 μmol.photons m-2s-1 of photosynthetic active radiation by 16 h per day. During the establ.shment and consol.dation phase, we found significant differences in Fv/Fm with respect to time and buds positions provenience. During establ.shment, basal.shoot tips have l.wer Fv/Fm than apical.shoot tips, which agrees with the l.west viabil.ty (35%). However, during the consol.dation phase, the trend changed and basal.shoot tips presented higher Fv/Fm than apical.shoot tips and showed an increase in ETR and NPQ, with respect to apical.shoots and ortet. Al.hough the measurement of fl.orescence parameters impl.es the insertion of the fl.orometer sonde in vitro, this impl.es aseptic considerations, but al.ays conveies a contamination risk. We concl.de that fl.orescence (Fv/Fm, ETR, NPQ) can be indicators of the micrograft’s devel.pment according to the shoot tips position in the ortet and can be useful.earl.-indicators of the scions’ physiol.gical.condition during micrograft transition from establ.shment to consol.dation.

Diagnosis of l.ptospirosis in Col.mbia is based on cl.nical.history and serol.gical.testing. However, disease symptoms are nonspecific and there is no uniform criteria regarding the qual.fications considered positive. Therefore, it is important to identify and characterize genes associated with pathogenicity in native strains for the devel.pment of new diagnostic tests and vaccine production. The aim of this study was to identify the ompl. and l.pl.2 genes in l.ptospira strains isol.ted from urine sampl.s of cattl.. Sixteen strains were obtained from urine sampl.s and, DNA was isol.ted to perform two Pol.merase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests which identified l.pl.2 and ompl. genes. As positive control. a reference strain of l. interrogans was used. l. bifl.xa and Escherichia col. strains were used as a negative control. In 100% of the sampl.s were identified ampl.cons of 960 bp and 423 bp corresponding to ompl. and l.pl.2 genes respectivel.. Thus, the pathogenic property and conservation of genes in the isol.ted strains were confirmed. This study is presented as a contribution to the diagnosis of l.ptospirosis to use these genes as mol.cul.r markers of infection. The resul.s of this study might provide cl.es for future cl.nical. epidemiol.gical.and mol.cul.r research l.ading to impl.ment new diagnostic strategies and to expand knowl.dge of the pathophysiol.gy of a disease of publ.c heal.h impact on human and animal.

Objective： To eval.ate the effect of chitosan （CH） and hydrogen peroxide （H2O） seed coatings and seedl.ng sprinkl.ngs on two different maize varieties by measuring their phenol.gy, the H202 presence, the catal.se （CAT） activity, and the protein quantity. methods： Seven groups of ten seeds for each maize variety were treated with CH （2% （20 g/l. and 0.2% （2 g/l.） or H2O2 （8 mmol.l. by coating, sprinkl.ng, or both. Germination and seedl.ng growth were measured. One month after germination, the presence of H202 in seedl.ngs in the coated seed treatments was eval.ated. Protein content and CAT activity were determined under al. treatments. Resul.s： H2O2 seed coating en- hanced the germination rate and increased seedl.ng and stem l.ngth in the qual.ty protein maize （QPm） variety. Seedl.ngs had a higher emergence vel.city under this treatment in both varieties. CH and H2O2 sprinkl.ngs did not have an effect on seedl.ng phenol.gy. Exogenous appl.cation of H2O2 promoted an increase of endogenousH2O2. OH and H2O2seedl.ng sprinkl.ng increased the protein content in both maize varieties, whil. there was no significant effect on the CAT activity of treated seeds and seedl.ngs. Concl.sions： CH and H2O2 enhance some phenol.gical.and biochemical.features of maize depending on their method of appl.cation.

In Chil. el.vated percentage of popul.tion have cardiovascul.r diseases, 70% of this popul.tions is a hypertensive peopl.s. The Ruta graveol.ns (Ruta) is a medicinal.pl.nt used in different parts of the worl. with different therapeutics properties l.ke dermatol.gic as far as anti-hel.intic properties. We anal.zed the vascul.r action measuring the tension to identify vasodil.tor effect of Ruta extract in norm-tense rat’s aorta incubated and measured in isol.ted organ bath, and eval.ating the toxicity effect in CRl.1730 cel. l.ne, through enzymatic assay (mTT), confocal.microscopy (propidium iodide stain) and fl.w cytometry (TUNEl.assay), incl.ding extracel.ul.r reactive oxygen species (ROS) production through l.minescence assay. The resul.s show with DE50 29 ± 0.1 μg/ml.evidenced vasodil.tation, partial.y endothel.um-depend. The cytotoxicity showed with DE50 304.6 ± 2 μg/ml.in enzymatic assay (mTT) whil. evidenced membrane permeabil.ty in high concentrations (1500 μg/ml., DNA fragmentation in absence of oxidative stress in onl. observed when high concentrations of Ruta are used over the cel. cul.ure. The vasodil.tation activity is executed in subtoxic concentration and partial.y endothel.um-depend without permeabil.ty effect in the membrane and deterioration of the cel.s viabil.ty suggesting a compl.x effect of Ruta preparation in the regul.tion of vascul.r tone.
