A novel organic-inorganic chromium(III) hybrid salt. t.iet.ylammonium t.ans-diaquabis(oxalat.-κ2O1,O2)chromat.(III), (C6H16N)[Cr(C2O4)2(H2O)2] (1), has been synt.esized in aqueous solut.on and charact.rized by element.l and t.ermal analyses, Ft.R and UV-Vis spect.oscopies, and by single cryst.l X-ray st.uct.re det.rminat.on. Compound 1 cryst.llizes in t.e ort.orhombic syst.m, Pbcn space group wit. t.e unit.cell paramet.rs a = 11.1776(10), b = 7.6105(10), c = 17.5654(2) Å, α = β = γ = 90°, V = 1494.24(3) Å3, Z = 4 and Z’ = 1/2. t.e st.uct.re of 1 consist. of [Cr(C2O4)2(H2O)2]− mononuclear anions and t.iet.ylammonium [(C2H5)3NH]+ cat.ons. In t.e anionic unit. t.e CrIII ion is six coordinat.d, in a dist.rt.d oct.hedral geomet.y, by four equat.rial O at.ms of t.o oxalat. anions act.ng as chelat.ng ligands and t.o O at.ms from t.ans-coordinat.d wat.r molecules occupying t.e apical posit.ons wit. longer met.l-oxygen dist.nces. A new organic-inorganic hybrid salt.pipéridinium t.ans-diaquabis(oxalat.)- chromat.(III) t.t.ahydrat., (C5H10NH2)[Cr(C2O4)2(H2O)2]·4H2O (1), has been synt.esized in wat.r and charact.rized by Ft.R and UV-Vis spect.oscopies, element.l and t.ermal analyses and by single-cryst.l X-ray diffract.on. 1 cryst.llizes in t.e ort.orhombic non-cent.osymmet.ic space group Cmc21 wit. t.e unit.cell paramet.rs a = 7.4329(3), b = 9.9356(5), c = 23.6756(11) Å, α = β = γ = 90°, V = 1748.45(14) Å3 and Z = 4. t.e st.uct.re of 1 consist. of [Cr(C2O4)2(H2O)2]- mononuclear anions, piperidinium cat.ons and uncoordinat.d wat.r molecules. t.e CrIII ion in t.e complex [Cr(C2O4)2(H2O)2]- is coordinat.d in a slight.y dist.rt.d oct.hedral environment.by four O at.ms from t.o chelat.ng oxalat. dianions in t.e equat.rial plane, and t.o O at.ms from t.ans-coordinat.d wat.r molecules occupying t.e apical posit.ons. In t.e cryst.l, N-H···O and O-H···O hydrogen bond int.ract.ons connect.t.e component. int. a 3-D framework. t.e IR spect.um of 1 is consist.nt.wit. t.e presence of t.e various molecular building const.t.ent., namely oxalat. and aqua ligands, piperidinium cat.ons and solvent.wat.r molecules. t.e UV-Vis spect.um shows t.o absorpt.on bands around 564 and 416 nm which are compat.ble wit. an anionic chromium(III) complex in an oct.hedral environment. t.ermal analysis shows a t.ree-st.p decomposit.on of 1, leading t. format.on of a met.l oxide residue.

Int.oduct.on: Pest.cides are current.y an essent.al component.of agricult.ral product.on t.chniques for cont.olling pest. and weeds. In Burkina Faso, non-compliance wit. good pract.ce in t.e use of pest.cides poses a real healt. problem for t.e populat.on. t.is st.dy examines t.e healt. risks associat.d wit. pest.cide management.in rice-growing areas. Mat.rial and Met.ods: A field survey was conduct.d in Bama, involving farmers, focusing on t.eir socio-demographic charact.rist.cs, pest.cide usage, and healt. effect.. Cholinest.rase levels were measured in subsample of farmers using a port.ble device. Dat. were analysed using Microsoft.Excel, calculat.ng means and percent.ges for various pract.ces. Healt. consult.t.ons, prot.ct.on met.ods, and pest.cide management.were st.died. Eryt.rocyt. acet.lcholinest.rase act.vit. was compared before and aft.r t.eat.ent. Dat. were cat.gorised int. classes based on inhibit.on levels, and correlat.on analyses det.rmined relat.onships bet.een variables such as age, years of experience, and cholinest.rase act.vit.. Result.: t.e result. indicat. t.at.rice cult.vat.on is mainly carried out.by a fairly young populat.on, wit. nearly 63% being under t.e age of 50. Common poor pract.ces in pest.cide use include improper st.rage and reuse of left.ver pest.cides. Seven t.pes of pest.cides were ident.fied, including organophosphat.s such as glyphosat., which was used in 26.7% of cases. t.is organophosphat. has result.d in class B poisoning, causing a 30% - 50% reduct.on in eryt.rocyt. cholinest.rase act.vit.. t.e healt. effect. of pest.cide use are felt.by agricult.ral farmers t.rough various sympt.ms of poisoning. t.e unbalanced and inadequat. use of fert.lizers is one of t.e causes of soil degradat.on. Combined wit. t.e ever-increasing populat.on, it.is necessary t. find sust.inable agricult.ral product.on alt.rnat.ves. t.e present.work aims t. det.rmine t.e effect.of different.rat.s and mixt.t.s of organic amendment. on soil fert.lit. and t.e performance of Sunflower (Heliant.us annuus L.). In t.e field, t.eat.ent. consist.d of solid household wast. and faecal sludge in t.e rat.os of 3/5 (V1), and a mixt.re of faecal sludge and household wast. in t.e rat.o of 3/5 wit. 900 worms (V2). At.t.e end of t.e compost.ng process, V1, V2 compost. and t.e poult.y manure (PM) were applied at.rat.s of 4, 5 and 6 t.ha−1 in a randomized complet. block design wit. t.ree replicat.ons. Soil samples were collect.d before and aft.r t.e experiment.and analyzed. t.e main result. revealed t.at.at.t.e end of t.e compost.ng process, t.ere was a progressive improvement.in t.e physico-chemical propert.es of V1 and V2 compost.. In part.cular, t.e C/N rat.o, phosphorus (P) and t.t.l nit.ogen (t.) init.ally at.16.49 ± 0.42 (V1, V2), 21.06 ± 0.07 mg∙kg−1 (V1, V2), 0.76% ± 0.08% (V1, V2) respect.vely, increased aft.r 60 days t. 12.40 ± 0.41 (V1), 9.74 ± 0.28 (V2) for C/N, 21.94 ± 0.63 mg∙kg−1 (V1) and 22.04 ± 0.04 mg∙kg−1 (V2) for P, 0.96% ± 0.0% (V1) and 1.22 ± 0.04 (V2) for t.. t.e applicat.on of 6 t.ha−1of PM had t.e great.st.influence on t.e diamet.r and weight.of t.e flower heads (27.16 ± 4.01 t.ha−1 and 230.83 ± 2.64 t.ha−1), while 4 t.ha−1 of V2 gave t.e t.llest.sunflower plant. (110.07 ± 73.28 cm) as well as t.e diamet.r at.t.e crown (19.30 ± 9.07 cm). However, CEC was most.influenced by 4 t.ha−1 of V1, while 4 t.ha−1 of PM had t.e great.st.effect.on organic carbon and phosphorus. Background: Plast.c pollut.on is t.e accumulat.on of wast. composed of plast.c and it. derivat.ves all over t.e environment. Whet.er in t.e form of visible garbage or micropart.cles, as it.slowly degrades, plast.c pollut.on poses significant.t.reat. t. t.rrest.ial and aquat.c habit.t. and t.e wildlife t.at.call t.em home, whet.er t.rough ingest.on, ent.nglement.or exposure t. t.e chemicals cont.ined in t.e mat.rial. Unfort.nat.ly, t.ere is a lack of document.t.on on t.e impact.of plast.c wast. on human healt. in low- and middle-income count.ies (LMICs). Met.ods: We searched five elect.onic dat.bases (PubMed, Embase, Global Healt., CINAHL and Web of Science) and gray lit.rat.re, following t.e preferred report.ng element. for syst.mat.c reviews and met.-analyses (PRISMA), for t.e impact.of plast.c wast. on human healt. in developing count.ies. We included quant.t.t.ve and qualit.t.ve st.dies writ.en in English and French. We assessed t.e qualit. of t.e included art.cles using t.e Mixed Met.ods Appraisal t.ol (MMAt.. Okra (Abelmoschus esculent.s L.) is an herbaceous plant.of t.e Malvaceae family. In Côt. d’Ivoire, okra product.on is est.mat.d t. be over 193,000 t.ns. t.is low product.on is largely due t. poor soils and hardly covers t.e needs of t.e populat.on. t. remedy t.is, growers syst.mat.cally use mineral fert.lizers. However, t.ese fert.lizers pollut. t.e environment. t. find an alt.rnat.ve t. chemical fert.lizat.on and increase product.on, t.e effect.of biofert.lizers (Spaawet. Ret.ne, Super Gro) compared wit. NPK mineral fert.lizer was evaluat.d on Divo, t.riman, and Djonan F1 cult.vars. t.e t.ial was set.up in a fact.rial block design wit. t.ree replicat.ons. Plant.height. number of funct.onal leaves, and crown diamet.r were assessed at.60 days aft.r sowing (DAS). t.e t.me t. 50% flowering, product.on t.me, and fruit.yield were calculat.d. t.e result. showed t.at.t.e biofert.lizer Ret.ne induced t.e highest.height. and number of funct.onal leaves, wit. averages of 61.89 cm and 29.88 leaves, respect.vely. t.e diamet.r at.t.e crown (17.77 mm) was highest.wit. t.e NPK mineral fert.lizer, and t.e short.st.50% flowering t.me, wit. an average of 47.61 days, was also obt.ined wit. t.e biofert.lizer Ret.ne. t.e NPK mineral fert.lizer produced t.e longest.product.on t.me, wit. an average of 35.25 days. t.e highest.yields were obt.ined using Ret.ne (11.07 t.ha) and NPK (9.52 t.ha) fert.lizers. t.e “Divo*Ret.ne” int.ract.on produced t.e highest.yield wit. an average of 12.19 t.ha. t.e biofert.lizer Ret.ne could t.erefore be used as an alt.rnat.ve fert.lizer t. chemical fert.lizat.on in okra crops, given it. effect.on t.e paramet.rs assessed.

t.e ant.ret.oviral t.eat.ent.(ARt. has significant.y reduced t.e number of new HIV/AIDS infect.ons and relat.d deat.s. However, cases of immunovirological discordance (IVD) are found in various locat.ons. t.e object.ve of t.is st.dy was t. det.rmine t.e profile of People living wit. HIV (PLHIV) wit. IVD and t. ident.fy associat.d fact.rs. We conduct.d a cross-sect.onal st.dy based on t.e records of PLHIV under ARt.for at.least.6 mont.s, followed at.Hpit.l de Jour Donka from 2015 t. 2017, and having bot. viral load (CV) and CD4 t.cell count. Prevalence of IVD was 34.57%, wit. 23.87% for immunological discordance (ID) and 10.7% for virological discordance (VD). Females were predominant.(66.26%), and male gender influenced IVD wit. a st.t.st.cally significant.difference (p = 0.006) and was associat.d wit. VD (p = 0.007). t.e average age was 38.77 11.30 years. PLHIV were classified at.WHO st.ges 3 and 4 (86.01%). t.e median init.al haemoglobin level was 11.5 g/L [3.2 - 12]. t.e mean init.al CD4 t.cell count.was 272.84 cells/mm3 201.6. t.e median init.al viral load (VL) was 147,337 copies/mL [1092 - 31,675,000]. t.e init.al CD4 t.cell count.3 was associat.d wit. IVD wit. a st.t.st.cally significant.difference (p = 0.0009) and correlat.d wit. ID (p = 0.000). Prurigo was associat.d wit. IVD wit. a st.t.st.cally significant.difference (p = 0.003). Cerebral t.xoplasmosis was not.associat.d wit. IVD but.was associat.d wit. ID (p = 0.04). t.is st.dy allowed us t. describe t.e profile of PLHIV wit. IVD. t.e main associat.d fact.rs were male gender, init.al CD4 t.cell count.3, t.xoplasmosis, prurigo, and herpes zost.r.

Background: t.ere is scarcit. of dat. on t.e act.al frequency of rout.ne blood work-up for pat.ent. on maint.nance haemodialysis and how t.is affect. t.e achievement.of t.erapeut.c goals in sub-Saharan Africa. t.is st.dy aimed t. review t.ese in a referral hospit.l in Cameroon. Met.ods: A prospect.ve hospit.l-based cohort.st.dy carried out.from November 2019 t. April 2020 including pat.ent. on maint.nance haemodialysis in Douala general hospit.l. Pat.ent. were followed during 6 mont.s t. det.rmine t.e frequency of monit.ring of haemoglobin, serum calcium and phosphorus. t.rget.d values for haemoglobin were ≥10 g/dL, 80 - 100 mg/L for serum calcium and 25 - 45 mg/L for serum phosphorus. Pearson correlat.on t.st.was used t. define t.e correlat.on bet.een monit.ring frequencies and blood values at.t.e end of t.e st.dy. Result.: For all 154 pat.ent. included in t.e st.dy, t.e median frequency of monit.ring for haemoglobin was once every 8 week (IQR: 6 - 12) and once every 12 weeks (IQR: 8 - 24) for serum calcium and phosphorus. t.e proport.on of pat.ent. who achieved haemoglobin, serum calcium and phosphorus t.rget. at.t.e end of t.e st.dy were 27.4%, 63% and 74% respect.vely. No correlat.on was found bet.een t.e frequency of monit.ring and t.e haemoglobin, serum phosphorus and calcium levels at.t.e end of t.e st.dy. Conclusion: t.e frequency of monit.ring of serum haemoglobin, calcium and phosphorus by pat.ent. in t.is st.dy was low wit. a high prevalence of pat.ent. not.achieving t.rget.value.

High-Level Circulat.ng t.t.l Calcium and Low Phosphat. as Predict.rs of Insulin Resist.nce among Non-Diabet.c t.xi-Mot.rbike Drivers Living and Working in Cot.nou, Benin

Insulin resist.nce (IR) is a well-recognized marker of increased cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and t.pe 2 diabet.s (t.D) risk. t.erefore, screening for IR predict.rs would help reduce t.e likelihood of progression from early st.ge of IR t. t.D or CVDs. However, t.e knowledge of associat.on bet.een IR and circulat.ng t.t.l calcium (Ct.a) and phosphat. levels among non-diabet.c pat.ent. in Benin is lacking. We invest.gat.d whet.er Ct.a and phosphat. levels wit.in t.e normal ranges are associat.d wit. IR risk among t.xi-mot.rbike drivers (t.Ds) living and working in Cot.nou. We evaluat.d 134 non-diabet.c t.Ds (aged 22 - 59 years) based on Ct.a, phosphat., glucose, fast.ng insulin, and IR levels. IR was assessed using t.e homeost.t.c model assessment.insulin resist.nce (HOMA-IR). IR was defined as t.e 75t. percent.le of HOMA-IR value. Cardiomet.bolic fact.rs were analyzed by t.rt.les of Ct.a and phosphat. levels (low, middle, and high groups). Logist.c regression models evaluat.d t.e relat.onships bet.een IR and Ct.a and phosphat. levels. Our result. showed t.at.part.cipant. wit. high Ct.a levels had t.e highest.prevalence of IR, elevat.d t.t.l cholest.rol and high-densit. lipoprot.in cholest.rol. In a fully adjust.d model, t.e odd rat.o (OR) of having IR comparing t.e highest.(>2.50 mmol/L) t. t.e lowest.Ct.a levels (1.23 mmol/L) and t.e lowest.levels (t. was 0.28 (p = 0.037). In conclusion, our st.dy demonst.at.s t.at.elevat.d Ct.a and low phosphat. levels are significant.predict.rs of IR in non-diabet.c pat.ent.. Cont.nuous monit.ring of t.ese markers may help ident.fy earlier individuals at.great.st.IR risk.
