Phytochemical and anti-bacterial activity of epidermal glands extract of Christella parasitica (L.) H. Lev.

Objective:To study the morphology,biochemistry and bioactivity of the epidermal glands of the glandular morphotype of Christella parasitica(***)(L.) ***: Morphological studies on epidermal glands were earned out by using light microscope and scanning electron *** prepare the extract,the shade-dried fronds of glandular morphotype were soaked in *** antibacterial studies paper disc method was followed by using various pathogenic ***:detailed micromorphological,phytochemical and bioactivity studies on a medicinal fern ***(L.) *** its inlraspecific variation in antibacterial *** presence or absence of the epidermal glands was the key factor for antibacterial activity in the morphovariants of this *** epidermal glands were orange-coloured,stalked and elongated ones of about 84.2μm×45μm,and distributed on the undersurface of cosla,coslules and veins in croziers,young and mature *** of glands varied from 15/cm on costa in mature leaves to 140/cm on costules in *** acetone extract of the glands showed antibacterial activities and also toxic effect against mosquito larvae and tadpoles of *** phytochemical analysis and HPLC studies of the gland extract showed the presence of various kinds of terpenoids,alkaloids,tannins,saponins and flavonoids in ***:The present study shows that epidermal glands of the glandular morphotype of C. parasitica(L.) *** several bioactive compounds and such rare moiphovariant should be conserved in *** next step is to isolate the pure compounds and to screen the bioactivity of individual compounds of the epidermal glands.

Smart prediction of liquefaction-induced lateral spreading

The prediction of liquefaction-induced lateral spreading/displacement(dh)is a challenging task for civil/geotechnical *** this study,a new approach is proposed to predict dh using gene expression programming(GEP).Based on statistical reasoning,individual models were developed for two topographies:free-face and gently sloping *** with a comparison with conventional approaches for predicting the dh,four additional regression-based soft computing models,*** process regression(GPR),relevance vector machine(RVM),sequential minimal optimization regression(SMOR),and M5-tree,were developed and compared with the GEP *** results indicate that the GEP models predict dh with less bias,as evidenced by the root mean square error(RMSE)and mean absolute error(MAE)for training(i.e.1.092 and 0.815;and 0.643 and 0.526)and for testing(i.e.0.89 and 0.705;and 0.773 and 0.573)in free-face and gently sloping ground topographies,*** overall performance for the free-face topology was ranked as follows:GEP>RVM>M5-tree>GPR>SMOR,with a total score of 40,32,24,15,and 10,*** the gently sloping condition,the performance was ranked as follows:GEP>RVM>GPR>M5-tree>SMOR with a total score of 40,32,21,19,and 8,***,the results of the sensitivity analysis showed that for both free-face and gently sloping ground,the liquefiable layer thickness(T_(15))was the major parameter with percentage deterioration(%d)value of 99.15 and 90.72,respectively.

The Impact of Heat Treatment and Surface Treatment on Thermal Conductivity of Heat Sinks Made of Aluminium die Casting Alloys

This research contributes to understand the thermal management capabilities of Plate Fin Heat Sinks(PFHS)fabricated from *** uniqueness in this study is that the heat sinks were exposed to abrasive blasting,heat treatment,and graphene coating,and a full evaluation of the influence of the aforementioned treatments on the thermal management capacities of PFHS was *** PFHS is compared with 1)abrasive blasted and graphene coated heat sink,and 2)heat treated and graphene coated heat *** assess the thermal efficiency of the PFHS variants,a dedicated experimental set up was meticulously *** is noteworthy that a junction temperature of 60℃was assumed as the reference point for the *** results revealed that the charging cycle time which denotes the time required attaining the junction temperature,increased 1.3 times for the sample being abrasive-blasted at 0.5 MPa pressure and graphene-coated for 0.5 mm when the maximum heat input of 45 W is *** low heat input of 15 W is evaluated,the results revealed that there is no significant difference in charging cycle when compared to the untreated heat *** charging cycle time increased 2 times for the sample which is heat-treated at 450℃and graphene-coated for 0.5 mm at heat input of 15 *** finding unequivocally underscores the heightened capacity of the heat treated and graphene coated PFHS made of AlSi10Mg to withstand elevated junction temperatures.

Urban living in large modern cities exerts considerable adverse effectson health and thus increases the risk of contracting several chronic kidney diseases (CKd). The prediction of CKds has become a major task in urbanizedcountries. The primary objective of this work is to introduce and develop predictive analytics for predicting CKds. However, prediction of huge samples isbecoming increasingly difficult. Meanwhile, MapReduce provides a feasible framework for programming predictive algorithms with map and reduce *** relatively simple programming interface helps solve problems in the scalability and efficiency of predictive learning algorithms. In the proposed work, theiterative weighted map reduce framework is introduced for the effective management of large dataset samples. A binary classification problem is formulated usingensemble nonlinear support vector machines and random forests. Thus, instead ofusing the normal linear combination of kernel activations, the proposed work creates nonlinear combinations of kernel activations in prototype examples. Furthermore, different descriptors are combined in an ensemble of deep support vectormachines, where the product rule is used to combine probability estimates ofdifferent classifiers. Performance is evaluated in terms of the prediction accuracyand interpretability of the model and the results.
