Aqueous Zn-ion batteries （AZIBs） have received considerable attention owing to their various advantages such as safety,low cost,simple battery assembly conditions,and high ionic ***,they still suffer from serious problems,including uncontrollable dendrite growth,corrosion,hydrogen evolution reaction （HER） from water decomposition,electrode passivation,and unexpected *** creation of a uniform artificial nanocrystal layer on the Zn anode surface is a promising strategy for resolving these ***,we propose the use of a perovsk.te CaTiO3（CTO） protective layer on Zn（CTO@Zn） as a promising approach for improving the performance of *** CTO artificial layer provides an efficient pathway for Zn ion diffusion towards the Zn metal because of the high dielectric constant （εr=180） and ferroelectric characteristics that enable the alignment of dipole moments and redistribute the Zn2+ions in the CTO *** avoiding the direct contact of the Zn anode with the electrolyte solution,the uneven dendrite growth,corrosion,parasitic side reactions,and HER are mitigated,while CTO retains its mechanical and chemical robustness during ***,CTO@Zn demonstrates an improved lifespan in a symmetric cell configuration compared with bare ***@Zn shows steady overpotential （～68 m V） for 1500 h at 1 mA cm-2/0.5 mA h cm-2,excelling bare ***,when paired with the V2O5-C cathode,the CTO@Zn//V2O5-C full battery delivers 148.4 mA h g-1（based on the mass of the cathode） after 300 *** study provides new insights into Zn metal anodes and the development of high-performance AZIBs.

PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to assess the intensity of tumor budding in colon carcinoma quantitatively and to determine its correlation with malignancy potential. METHODS: The intensities of tumor budding at the invasive front of surgical specimens from 174 patients with well- differentiated or moderately differentiated colon carcinoma were investigated. Differences in intensity among clinicopathologic parameters were compared, and recurrences and survivals were analyzed in accordance with degree of the intensity. RESULTS: Tumor budding was identified in 155 patients (89 percent) and the mean intensity (± standard deviation) of budding was, on the whole, 6.6 ± 5.6. Intensity was significantly higher in tumors with lymphatic and vascular invasion than in those without (9.1 ± 6.6 vs. 4.8 ± 3.9 and 9.8 ± 6.1 vs. 5.4 ± 4.9; P k.of postoperative recurrence (P = 0.017 and 0.0001, respectively). When patients were stratified into four groups based on the quartiles of the distribution of intensity, the group of higher quartiles showed significantly less favorable outcome in terms of both five- year disease- free (P = 0.0039) and overall survival (P = 0.0263). The cutoff of the intensity considered to be the best indicator for separating patients with regard to survival was third quartiles (intensity, 9). Based on multivariate analysis, the intensity of budding proved to be a significant covariate associated with disease- free survival (hazard ratio, 2.061; P = 0.0066).CONCLUSIONS: The intensity of tumor budding at the invasive margin is suggested to be a significant pathologic index, indicating higher malignancy potential and the intensity greater than nine may be considered an adverse prognostic indicator in patie

PURPOSE: Uncertainty with the safety of the biofragmentable anastomosis ring mak.s surgeons hesitate in its widespread use in intestinal surgery. This study was designed to evaluate the validity of the biofragmentable anastomosis ring as a routine anastomotic device in enterocolic surgery. METHODS: The study analyzed the nine-year experience of 632 biofragmentable anastomosis ring anastomoses performed in 617 patients: 525 (83 percent) as elective procedures and 107 (17 percent) as emergency. Three classic types of anastomosis, end-to-end (n = 354), end-to-side (n = 263), and side-to-side (n = 15), were performed with a standard technique. RESULTS: Anastomotic sites included ileocolic/ileorectal in 283 patients (45 percent), colorectal in 148 (23 percent), enteroenteric in 101 (16 percent), and colocolic in 100 patients (16 percent). Anastomotic leak.ge with clinical relevance was observed in five patients (0.8 percent): three elective cases, and two emergency (2 colorectal anastomoses and 1 ileorectal required diversions). Among 13 instances (2.1 percent) with postoperative intestinal obstruction, only 1 required relaparotomy for closed-loop obstruction. Seven patients (1.1 percent; 4 elective cases, and 3 emergency) died postoperatively; no deaths were directly related to the biofragmentable anastomosis ring technique. CONCLUSIONS: Our data suggest that the anastomosis using the biofragmentable anastomosis ring is a uniform and highly reliable technique even in high-risk.emergency surgery. Along with its clinical validities, clinical application of the biofragmentable anastomosis ring in different types of anastomoses in enterocolic surgery is expected to be expanded with a high level of technical safety.

The Mesta-Nestos river basin in Bulgaria and Greece is a case study for transboundary decision-mak.ng support in south-eastern Europe and a show-case for the development of methodologies and information-gathering for the integrated regional planning of water resources. Land-use conflicts in this water-scarce region cover a wide spectrum of activities lik. agricultural irrigation, drink.ng water production, diversions for industrial water, and risk.of pollution from mining, to name a few examples. Measurements of the water quality were carried out in the upper basin. Results will be illustrated by the example of the environmental situation in the alpine region of the Pirin National park as well as in the Razlog Basin with a stronger anthropogenic impact and pollution around a former uranium mine near the village of Elesnica. The social and economic development of this transboundary region is a recently established priority for mean an increase in water usage the water resources if regional the future. It will and more stress for impacts of global climate change are verified. Problem-focused management of the catchment area as a whole on the basis of proved geo-data sets is needed for the future.

The study of speciation genetics is primarily concerned with identifying the genetic traits that allow divergent selec- tion to overcome the homogenizing effects of gene flow. Felsenstein reviewed this race between gene flow and selection, con- cluding that speciation with gene flow was unlik.ly under a ＂two-allele model＂（where two traits were necessary for reproductive isolation） but that divergence could occur quite easily under a ＂one-allele model.＂ Despite this finding, much of the sympatric speciation research involving phytophagous insects has relied on a two-trait model, where insects evolve both preferences for and increased performance on novel host plants. Philopatry （a tendency to remain where one was born） is k.own to occur in phyto- phagous insects and is a single trait isolation mechanism. However, it is traditionally invok.d as simply augmenting reproductive isolation. Species in the Enchenopa binotata complex are believed to have speciated in sympatry. They exhibit host plant prefe- rences, host specific performance advantages and strong philopatry. We experimentally shifted E. binotata to evolutionarily novel host plants. Previous research has demonstrated that the experimental population of insects possesses genetic variation in prefe- rence and performance to the novel host. The degree of philopatry at mating and egg-laying was assayed for the first four years under full choice conditions. Host plant preference and performance was assayed after eight years. Philopatry was an immediate and strong isolating mechanism, while preference for and performance on the novel host lagged. We therefore suggest that philo- patry may be a more important mechanism in the early stages of a host shift than previously believed [Current Zoology 59 （5）： 658-666, 2013].

Liquid-liquid extraction and separation of total rare earth(RE) metals from polymetallic manganese nodule leaching solution

The study on the solvent extraction for quantitative and selective separation of total rare earth metals from the polymetallic nodule leach liquor was investigated. The typical leach liquor bearing 0. 094 g/L total rare earth, 0. 23 g/L Mn, 0.697 g/L Cu, 0.2 g/L Fe, 0.01 g/L Co and 0.735 g/L Ni was subj.cted to the removal iron content by precipitation method using Ca（OH）2 at pH 3.95, prior to solvent extraction of rare earth metals. Three different organo-phosphoric acid reagents（D2EHPA, PC88 A, Cyanex 272） were used to ascertain their performances and selectivity towards the loading of rare earth metals in presence of other base metals. Based on the results of eq. pH effect, the performances of above three extractants followed the order as： D2EHPA〉PC88A〉Cyanex 272. To ensure the absence of extraction of base metals（Cu, Co, Ni）, the eq. pH of the solution was optimized at the level of 2.21, though higher rare earth metal extraction efficiency was observed at higher eq. pH with either of the extractants. The complete process flow diagram for substantial recovery of total rare earth was developed using D2 EHPA. Extraction isotherm plot was constructed at A：O=12：1, 3-stages and pHe=2.21, using 0.8 mol/L D2 EHPA and the predicted condition of this study was further confirmed by 6-Cycles Counter Current Simulation（CCS） study. The stripping of total rare earth from loaded organic phase（LO） was conducted using HCl solution. Mc-Cabe Thiele diagram study carried out at A：O=1：5 using 4 mol/L HCl showed that three theoretical stages were needed for quantitative stripping of total rare earth. The subsequent stripped solution resulted thus led to contain total rare earth of 5.6 g/L indicating a very high enrichment of total metals by solvent extraction（SX） process.
