Imaging of filtering blebs after implantation of the Ex-PRESS shunt with the use of the Visante optical coherence tomography

AIM: To analyze the features of the filtering blebs following implantation of the Ex-PRESS glaucoma device(model P-50) with the aid of the Visante anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT)METHODS: Five patients with open angle glaucomas were included in the study. They all underwent implantation of the Ex-PRESS device under a scleral flap. The surgical procedure was augmented with the use of mitomycin C subconjunctivally. The filtering blebs were analyzed with the Visante AS-OCT with the scans taken along the axis of the implantation of the glaucoma ***: All filtering blebs were graded as diffuse functioning. The morphological characteristics of the blebs were similar to those of the *** the use of the Ex-PRESS implant tend to form a characteristic episcleral lake at the site of the plate of the implant. CONCLUSION: The use of the Ex-PRESS implant produces filtering blebs similar to those of the trabeculectomy with the formation of a characteristic episcleral lake at the site of the plate of the implant.

Project management is a well understood management method, widely adopted today, in order to give predictable results to complex problems. However, quite often projects fail to satisfy their initial objectives. This is why studying the factors that affect the complexity of projects is quite important. In this paper, we will present the complexity factors that are related to project time, cost and quality management and then we will apply them to a number of selected projects, in order to compare the acquired results. The projects have been chosen in a way that results can be easily compared.

In this article, we present multiple-input receiver architecture for MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) wireless communication applications. The proposed implementation is provided by a defined number of identical receiver units that are fed by a RF modulated signal on specific carrier frequency, power strength and initial phase. These units carry out the corresponding amplification, filtering and demodulation procedures. Details on design and implementation of this Printed-Circuit-Board are introduced and further discussed. Experimental results are also presented, allowing the validation of investigation on the performance of the current receiver architecture. Besides, these measurements indicate that the proposed device, combining with a suitable antenna array, provides a versatile receiver platform for baseband signal processing. The incoming RF modulated signals have frequencies on the range of 2.4 GHz, several phases, magnitudes and modulation modes. From these, it seems that the proposed receiver implementation supports MIMO communication and multiple port channel characterization applications at 2.4 GHz ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical) band.

针对环氧沥青固化过程中的流变学特性,采用粘度为表征参数,重点研究固化温度、剪切速率以及稀释比对其固化速度的影响。结果表明,温度越高,环氧沥青的固化速度越快;过快的剪切速率会干扰并破坏固化结构的形成;采用基质沥青对环氧沥青进行稀释可以有效控制固化速度并降低材料成本。综合考虑施工和易性等因素,推荐稀释比(环氧沥青:基质沥青)为25∶75,材料拌合速度为20 r/min,材料在拌合、运输及压实过程中温度应保持在130℃,道路施工需在5 h内结束。

Measurements of Balun and Gap Effects in a Dipole Antenna

In the present paper, design and analysis of a 2.4 GHz printed dipole antenna for wireless communication applications are presented. Measurements on return loss and radiation pattern of this antenna configuration are included in this investigation. The printed dipole is combined with the feeding structure of a microstrip via-hole balun and is fabricated on an FR-4 printed-circuit-board substrate. Two inevitable discontinuities are introduced by this antenna architecture in the form of right-angle bends in the microstrip feed line and in the dipole’s gap, respectively. The impact of mitering these bends in the reflection coefficient, resonance bandwidth and radiation pattern of antenna has been investigated by means of simulation and experiment.

Software Project Management is a knowledge intensive process that can benefit substantially from ontology development and ontology engineering. Ontology development could facilitate or improve substantially the software development process through the improvement of knowledge management, the increase of software and artefacts reusability, and the establishment of internal consistency within project management processes of various phases of software life cycle. A large number of ontologies have been developed attempting to address various software engineering aspects, such as requirements engineering, components reuse, domain modelling, etc. In this paper, we present a systematic literature review focusing on software project management ontologies. The literature review, among other, has identified lack of standardization in terminology and concepts, lack of systematic domain modelling and use of ontologies mainly in prototype ontology systems that address rather limited aspects of software project management processes.
