Peroxyacetyl nitrate （PAn） is an important indicator of photochemical smog and has adverse effects on human health and vegetation growth. A rapid and h!ghly selective technique of thermal dissociation chemical ionization mass spectrometry （TD-CIMS） was recently developed to measure the abundance of PAn in real time; however, it may be subject to artifact in the presence of nitric oxide （nO）. In this study, we tested the interference of the PAn signal induced by nO, evaluated the performance of TD- CIMS in an urban environment, and investigated the concentration and formation of PAn in urban Hong Kong. nO caused a significant underestimation of the PAn signal in TD-CIMS, with the underestimation increasing sharply with nO concentration and decreasing slightly with PAn abundance. A formula was derived to link the loss of PAn signal with the concentrations of nO and PAn, which can be used for data correction in PAn measurements. The corrected PAn data from TD- CIMS were consistent with those from the commonly used gas chromatography with electron capture detection, which confirms the utility of TD-CIMS in an urban environment in which nO is abundant. In autumn of 2010, the hourly average PAn mixing ratio varied from 0.06 ppbv to 5.17 ppbv, indicating the occurrence of photochemical pollution in urban Hong Kong. The tbrmation efficiency of PAn during pollution episodes was as high as 3.9 to 5.9 ppbv per 100 ppbv ozone. The efficiency showed a near-linear increase with nO, concentration, suggesting a control policy of nO,. reduction for PAn pollution.

人类活动产生的氮(n),包括农田氮肥施肥和矿物燃料燃烧过程中所固定的氮,其来源和分布正在迅速地扩展到全球范围。这部分氮进入到陆地生态系统中,将会促进植物的生长,并产生过量的氮,最终通过淋溶和痕量气体排放的形式,增加了氮的损失。在某种情况下,还会导致物种组成的变化和生态系统功能的衰减。但并非所有的生态系统都对氮沉降具有类似的响应。它们的响应情况,取决于氮沉降的连续性、生态系统的类型、生态系统对氮的需求或保持能力、土地利用的历史、土壤状况、地形条件、气候背景以及氮沉降的速度、时间和类型等因素。我们认为,起重要作用的是:一些对人类影响具有显著意义的条件、一些控制生态系统响应变化的因素以及一些由于资料缺乏而使不确定性增大的地方。

Context: The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) continues to be the main public health challenge in Gabon. The latest studies highlight a high rate of virological failure and HIV drug resistance in semi-rural Gabon. In Libreville, virological failure data is sparse, data on HIV drug resistance for the former first line and new first-line regimen is lacking. Methods: Between January 28th, 2019, and January 31st, 2020, we received patient living with HIV (PLWHA) for CD4 counts, HIV-1 viral load, and/or genotyping of HIV-1 mutation drug resistance. We used the BD FACSPresto for CD4 count, the Biocentric Generic HIV viral load test for HIV-1 quantification, and the HIV-1 drug resistance mutation genotyping (ARnS protocol). Results: A total of 1129 HIV-1 patients have been enrolled for this study. The median age was 46 years old and the median of CD4 was 386 cells per cubic millimeter. The virological suppression success was observed at 62.7% of patients on the former first line regimen and 70.6% of the patient on DBR. We successfully amplified and analyzed 76 sequences and noticed the presence of the nineteen different subtypes with the predominance of the subtypes CRF02-AG (37.95%), followed by subtype A (22.3%). For HIV drug resistance analyses, 108 (65.1%) had resistance mutation to nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (nRTIs);of these, 91 (84%) present M184V/I. When looking for nnRTI mutations, 119 (71.7%) sequences had at least one mutation. Of these, 82 had K103n (68.9%), representing the main nnRTI mutations. The pattern showing the high level of resistance (HLR) in all molecules of nRTIs and nnRTIs, except for the TDF (intermediate resistance) was M41L-E44DL74I-M184-L210W-T215Y-K101P-K103n-V106I. Conclusion: This report paints a picture of a relatively female-dominated HIV-infected Gabonese population with a low level of immunity. Studies had indicate that excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) affect cellular signaling pathways, which is associated with pathological and physiological conditions such as cancer, diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases In this context, our laboratory has obtained the Bios-p, a ROS modulator, peptide analogue by sequencing from the seed of Bauhinia bauhinoides, which represents the active 12-amino acid, obtained from the inhibitor BbKI protease and we predicted the three-dimensional structure of Bios-p analogue peptide using homology modeling, being patented by the working group of Dr. Maria Luiza Vilela Oliva of UnIFESP, Brazil (a member of our cluster). The protective effect on the viability and antioxidant capacity of Bios-p was studied in HEK 293T cells under oxidative stress induced by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) using SYTOXGREEn/DHE and luminescence assay. The three-dimensional structure of Bios-p peptide analogue was predicted by homology-based modeling using Modeller9v8. The pretreatment with different concentrations of Bios-p (1 μM - 10 μM) showed an increase of 53.83% ± 3.86% the cellular viability in under oxidative stress compared to control. Furthermore, the results to indicate that HEK293T cells by incubating for 24 h with Bios-p shown a significant decreased of basal extracellular ROS on total cell population in 89.67% ± 0.76%, compared to control in the absence of the analogue. Similarly it is observed that Bios-p has a significant antioxidant effect on extracellular ROS production when cells are subjected to oxidative stress induced by 200 μM H2O2 in 64.37% ± 4.63%, compared to control in absence of H2O2 and Bios-p. These results suggest that Bios-p has potential as antioxidant agent in cells HEK293T under H2O2-induced oxidative stress and that can protect the cells viability as concentration-dependent, and we propose a new biotechnological tool for modulate the ROS production.

背景与目的：非小细胞肺癌术后三维适形放疗与常规放疗的疗效比较目前尚缺乏长期随访结果．本研究回顾性分析非小细胞肺癌（nSCLC）术后分别采用三维适形放疗和常规放疗的疗效及放疗反应，比较不同放疗技术对疗效及放疗反应的影响。方法：收集1990年12月-2002年8月美国M．D．安德森癌症研究中心收治的167例Ⅲ．期nSCLC患者的术后放疗资料进行回顾性分析。其中常规放疗组（CV组）90例．三维适形放疗组（CF组）77例。CV组放疗中位剂量为54．3Gy／27次．CF组放疗中位刹龟为53．9Gy／26次．均在5～6周内完成。结果：两组患者病例特征具有可比性。CV组和CF组中位随访时间分别为36个月和24个月，两组无瘤生存率、局部控制率及无远处转移生存率差异无显著性，但两组总生存率差异有显著性（P=0．014）。CF组在肺部纤维化、心脏损伤和血液系统放疔反应发生率显著性上要低于CV组，其余放疗反应差异基本尤最著性。两组死亡原因差异有显著性，CV组有8例患者死于与心脏损伤有关的并发症，而CF组没有。结论：Ⅲ、期nSCLC术后采用改进的三维适形放疗技术不仅可以取得与常规放疗类似的疗效，还可提高总生存率，同时降低了肺部纤维化、心脏损伤和血液系统反应发生率，三维适形放疗的治疗优势值得关注．

Symptoms of Tar Spot Complex (TSC) in corn appear in the form of black spots surrounded by a chlorotic halo known as fish-eye. The crop with these symptoms was found at San Pablo Autopan, Estado de Mexico. The stromal region of foliar lesions was cut longitudinally, showing perithecia, asci and ascospores typical of Phyllachora maydis. The results were confirmed by PCR-ITS with ITS 1 and ITS4 initiators, cloned by pJET, before being sequenced and compared against nCBI’s data base. Phyllachora identity was confirmed. This is the first report where TSC pathogen has been detected under conditions that had not been previously reported, for instance, at 2600 meters above the sea level.
