A Reliable and Accurate Calculation of Excitation Capacitance v.lue for an Induction Generator Bas.d on Interv.l Computation Technique

A s.uirrel cage induction generator （s.IG） offers.many adv.ntages.for wind energy conv.rs.on s.s.ems.but s.ffers.from poor v.ltage regulation under v.rying operating conditions. The v.lue of excitation capacitance （C exct ） is.v.ry crucial for the s.lfexcitation and v.ltage build-up as.well as.v.ltage regulation in s.IG. Precis. calculation of the v.lue of C exct is. therefore, of cons.derable practical importance. Mos. of the exis.ing calculation methods.make us. of the s.eady-s.ate model of the s.IG in conjunction with s.me numerical iterativ. method to determine the minimum v.lue of C exct . But this.res.lts.in ov.r es.imation, leading to poor trans.ent dynamics. This.paper pres.nts.a nov.l method, which can precis.ly calculate the v.lue of C exct by taking into account the behav.or of the magnetizing inductance during s.turation. Interv.l analys.s.has.been us.d to s.lv. the equations. In the propos.d method, a range of magnetizing inductance v.lues.in the s.turation region are included in the calculation of C exct , required for the s.lf-excitation of a 3-φ induction generator. Mathematical analys.s.to deriv. the bas.c equation and application of interv.l method is.pres.nted. The method als. yields.the magnetizing inductance v.lue in the s.turation region which corres.onds.to an optimum C exct（min） v.lue. The propos.d method is.experimentally tes.ed for a 1.1 kW induction generator and has.s.own improv.d res.lts.

This.paper cons.ders.minimization of res.s.iv. and frictional power dis.ipation in a s.parately excited DC motor bas.d incremental motion driv. （IMD）. The driv. is.required to dis.lace a giv.n, fixed load through a definite angle in s.ecified time, with minimum energy dis.ipation in the motor windings.and minimum frictional los.es. Accordingly, an energy optimal （EO） control s.rategy is.propos.d in which the motor is.firs. accelerated to track a s.ecific s.eed profile for a pre-determined optimal time period. Thereafter, both armature and field power s.pplies.are dis.onnected, and the motor decelerates.and comes.to a halt at the des.red dis.lacement point in the des.red total dis.lacement time. The optimal time period for the initial acceleration phas. is.computed s. that the motor s.ores.jus. enough energy to decelerate to the final pos.tion at the s.ecified dis.lacement time. The parameters. s.ch as.the moment of inertia and coefficient of friction, which depend on the load and other external conditions. hav. been obtained us.ng s.s.em identification method. Comparis.n with earlier control techniques.is.included. The res.lts.s.ow that the propos.d EO control s.rategy res.lts.in s.gnificant reduction of energy los.es.compared to the exis.ing ones.

The frequency domain analys.s.of s.s.ems.is.an important topic in control theory. Powerful graphical tools.exis. in clas.ic control, s.ch as.the Nyquis. plot, Bode plots. and Nichols.chart. Thes. methods.hav. been widely us.d to ev.luate the frequency domain behav.or of s.s.em. A literature s.rv.y s.ows.that v.rious.approaches.are av.ilable for the computation of the frequency res.ons. of control s.s.ems.under different types.of parametric dependencies. s.ch as.affine, multi-linear, polynomial, etc. Howev.r, there is.a lack of tools.in the literature to cons.ruct the Bode env.lopes.for the general nonlinear type of parametric dependencies. In this.paper, we addres. the problem of computation of the env.lope of Bode frequency res.ons. of a non-rational trans.er function with nonlinear parametric uncertainties.v.rying ov.r a box. We propos. two techniques.to compute the Bode env.lopes.firs., bas.d on the natural interv.l extens.ons.（NIE） combined with uniform s.bdiv.s.on and s.cond, bas.d on the exis.ing Taylor model combined with s.bdiv.s.on s.rategy. We als. propos. the algorithms.to further s.eed up both methods.through extrapolation techniques.

In this.paper, a computationally efficient method is.propos.d for automated des.gn of the prefilters.for multiv.riable s.s.ems. In quantitativ. feedback theory （QFT） method, propos.d by Horowitz, the prefilter is.des.gned to achiev. the des.red tracking s.ecifications. In the propos.d approach, we pos. the prefilter des.gn problem as.an interv.l cons.raint s.tis.action problem and s.lv. it us.ng the well-es.ablis.ed interv.l cons.raint s.tis.action techniques. The propos.d method finds.optimal v.lues.of the parameters.of fixed s.ructure prefilter within the initial s.arch domain. An approach bas.d on prefilter s.nthes.s.for s.ngle-input s.ngle-output is.already dev.loped. The purpos. of this.paper is.to extend this.approach to QFT prefilter des.gn for general multiv.riable s.s.ems. To v.lidate the abov. des.gn approach, we applied the method to a laboratory s.tup of magnetic lev.tation s.s.em.

In this.paper, an improv.d algorithm is.propos.d for uncons.rained global optimization to tackle non-conv.x nonlinear multiv.riate polynomial programming problems. The propos.d algorithm is.bas.d on the Berns.ein polynomial approach. Nov.l features.of the propos.d algorithm are that it us.s.a new rule for the s.lection of the s.bdiv.s.on point, modified rules.for the s.lection of the s.bdiv.s.on direction, and a new acceleration dev.ce to av.id s.me unneces.ary s.bdiv.s.ons. The performance of the propos.d algorithm is.numerically tes.ed on a collection of 16 tes. problems. The res.lts.of the tes.s.s.ow the propos.d algorithm to be s.perior to the exis.ing Berns.ein algorithm in terms.of the chos.n performance metrics.

Managing cut throat injuries.are a challenge as.it may inv.lv. the three anatomical components.of the neck namely v.s.ular component, which inv.lv.s.carotid arteries. jugular v.ins. s.bclav.an v.s.els.and the v.rtebral arteries.res.iratory component, which inv.lv.s.larynx and trachea and diges.iv. component, which inv.lv.s.pharynx and es.phagus. Injury to one or more of the components.may lead to profus. hemorrhage from injured major blood v.s.els. air embolis. and airway obs.ruction. Managing electrical cut throat injuries.to neck are particularly challenging becaus. of the damage that occurs.at cellular lev.l. We hereby report a cas. of electrical cut throat injury to neck.
