Dear Editor,In the European region,which shares 22.8%of the global cancer burden for 10%of the global population,there were around 4.4 million new cancer cases and 1.9 million deaths from cancer in 2020[1].The reasons for the high cancer incidence rates are complex;however,diet and dietary components are among the main contributors to cancer risk[2].In modern-day living,a growing proportion of people include in their diets ultra-processed *** of food processing and home-prepared foods are so-called dietary advanced glycation endproducts(AGEs),which are reactive metabolites emerging during the breakdown of reducing *** production is preponderant in dry high-heat processes(e.g.,baking,roasting);hence foods such as cakes,crisps,crackers,cereal products,meat and meat-derived products represent a major source of dietary AGEs[3].

In this paper,a resilient distributed control scheme against replay attacks for multi-agent networked systems subject to input and state constraints is *** methodological starting point relies on a smart use of predictive arguments with a twofold aim:1)Promptly detect malicious agent behaviors affecting normal system operations;2)Apply specific control actions,based on predictive ideas,for mitigating as much as possible undesirable domino effects resulting from adversary ***,the multi-agent system is topologically described by a leader-follower digraph characterized by a unique leader and set-theoretic receding horizon control ideas are exploited to develop a distributed algorithm capable to instantaneously recognize the attacked ***,numerical simulations are carried out to show benefits and effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Background:Nanotechnologies promise to improve disease diagnosis and treatment,overcoming the limitations of conventional *** particular,extracellular vesicles(EVs)and artificial vesicles(AVs)are strongly emerging tools in nanomedicine(Leggio et al.,2020).EVs are cell-derived membrane structures secreted after the fusion of endosomes with the plasma membrane(exosomes)or shed from the plasma membrane(microvesicles).EVs are released by different brain cells(neurons,oligodendrocytes,astrocytes,and microglia)and constitute a physiological intercellular communication ***,EVs can deliver different types of molecules(nucleic acids and proteins),which often influence the phenotype of the recipient *** play a physiological role in the central nervous system(CNS),such as development,myelination,regeneration,and synaptic activity(Lai et al.,2012).Due to their content,EVs could therefore constitute an important biomarker for neurodegenerative diseases,represent candidates for therapeutic use,enclosing regulatory molecules,or be considered as vectors for brain drug delivery(Croese et al.,2018).

Magnetic separation studies for a low grade siliceous iron ore sample

Investigations were carried out, on a low grade siliceous iron ore sample by magnetic separation, to establish its amenability for physical beneficiation. Mineralogical studies revealed that the sample consists of magnetite, hematite and goethite as major opaque oxide minerals where as silicates as well as carbonates form the gangue minerals in the sample. Processes involving combination of classification, dry magnetic separation and wet magnetic separation were carried out to upgrade the low grade siliceous iron ore sample to make it suitable as a marketable product. The sample was first ground and each closed size sieve fractions were subjected to dry magnetic separation and it was observed that limited upgradation is possible. The ground sample was subjected to different finer sizes and separated by wet low intensity magnetic separator. It was possible to obtain a magnetic concentrate of 67% Fe by recovering 90% of iron values at below 200 lm size.

Multi-agent systems are usually equipped with open communication infrastructures to improve interactions efficiency,reliability and *** technologically costeffective,this makes them vulnerable to cyber-attacks with potentially catastrophic *** this end,we present a novel control architecture capable to deal with the distributed constrained regulation problem in the presence of time-delay attacks on the agents’communication *** basic idea consists of orchestrating the interconnected cyber-physical system as a leader-follower configuration so that adequate control actions are computed to isolate the attacked unit before it compromises the system *** on a multi-area power system confirm that the proposed control scheme can reconfigure the leader-follower structure in response to denial ofservice(DoS)attacks.

Between plaza and peak: a montological perspective on verticality and urbanization in highland Peru

Under the influence of concentrated and extended urbanization,Andean cities and the different altitudinal zones of their“hinterlands”are experiencing profound changes in land cover—from the central plazas up to the highest *** complex regional-geographic characteristics of these socioecological systems,such as the vertical complementarity of land use,require a montological perspective on verticality and urbanization:it transcends disciplinary approaches and can be crucial to properly interpret the trajectories of land cover change and formulate hypotheses for future practiceoriented *** trajectories of land cover change characterized altitudinal zones of Andean cities and their surroundings over the last three decades?Are there similarities that allow for the formulation of more general hypotheses?Using the Peruvian cases of Cusco and Huaraz,and combining a traditional altitudinal zonation model of land use in Peru with direct field observations and GIS-based analyses of remotely sensed data from 1991,2001,2011,and 2021,this study identifies the main trajectories of land cover change in the Quechua(>2300–3500 m),Suni(>3500–4000 m),and Puna(>4000–4800 m)regions—and finds insightful similarities between Cusco and Huaraz:(1)an impressive area of built-up land substitutes grassland in the Quechua,which,following regional altitudinal zonation models,is characterized by irrigated and rain-fed cropland;(2)an unexpected expansion of irrigated cropland takes place in the Suni,which,in theory,often lacks irrigation infrastructure and is mostly used for rain-fed tuber cultivation;and(3)a clear change from“other land”to grassland occurs in the Puna—where grassland is thought to predominate,anyway,since pre-Hispanic *** that these changes reflect the interplay between speculative fallow,agricultural intensification,and ecological restoration,the results can be read as vertically complementary,local manifestations of concentrated and extended urba

Age-Based Automatic Voice Conversion Using Blood Relation for Voice Impaired

The present work presents a statistical method to translate human voices across age groups,based on commonalities in voices of blood *** age-translated voices have been naturalized extracting the blood relation features e.g.,pitch,duration,energy,using Mel Frequency Cepstrum Coefficients(MFCC),for social compatibility of the *** system has been demonstrated using standard English and an Indian *** voice samples for resynthesis were derived from 12 families,with member ages ranging from 8–80 *** voice-age translation,performed using the Pitch synchronous overlap and add(PSOLA)approach,by modulation of extracted voice features,was validated by perception *** translated and resynthesized voices were correlated using Linde,Buzo,Gray(LBG),and Kekre’s Fast Codebook generation(KFCG)*** translated voice targets,a strong(θ>∼93%andθ>∼96%)correlation was found with blood relatives,whereas,a weak(θ<∼78%andθ<∼80%)correlation range was found between different families and different gender from same *** study further subcategorized the sampling and synthesis of the voices into similar or dissimilar gender groups,using a support vector machine(SVM)choosing between available voice ***,∼96%,∼93%,and∼94%accuracies were obtained in the identification of the gender of the voice sample,the age group samples,and the correlation between the original and converted voice samples,*** results obtained were close to the natural voice sample features and are envisaged to facilitate a near-natural voice for speech-impaired easily.

A Real-Time Oral Cavity Gesture Based Words Synthesizer Using Sensors

The present system experimentally demonstrates a synthesis of syllables and words from tongue manoeuvers in multiple languages,captured by four oral sensors *** an experimental demonstration of the system used in the oral cavity,a prototype tooth model was *** on the principle developed in a previous publication by the author(s),the proposed system has been implemented using the oral cavity(tongue,teeth,and lips)features alone,without the glottis and the *** positions of the sensors in the proposed system were optimized based on articulatory(oral cavity)gestures estimated by simulating the mechanism of human *** system has been tested for all English alphabets and several words with sensor-based input along with an experimental demonstration of the developed algorithm,with limit switches,potentiometer,and flex sensors emulating the tongue in an artificial oral *** system produces the sounds of vowels,consonants,and words in English,along with the pronunciation of meanings of their translations in four major Indian languages,all from oral cavity *** experimental setup also caters to gender mapping of *** sound produced from the hardware has been validated by a perceptual test to verify the gender and word of the speech sample by listeners,with∼98%and∼95%accuracy,*** a model may be useful to interpret speech for those who are speech-disabled because of accidents,neuron disorder,spinal cord injury,or larynx disorder.
