A perspective on toxicology of Conus venom peptides

The evolutionarily unique and ecologically diverse family Conidae presents fundamental opportunities for marine pharmacology research and drug *** focus of this investigation is to summarize the worldwide distribution of Conus and their species diversity with special reference to the Indian *** addition,this study will contribute to understanding the structural properties of conotoxin and therapeutic application of Conus venom *** snails can inject a mix of various conotoxins and these venoms are their major weapon for prey capture,and may also have other biological purposes,and some of these conotoxins fatal to *** venoms contain a remarkable diversity of pharmacologically active small peptides;their targets are an iron channel and receptors in the neuromuscular *** divergence is pronounced in venom peptide genes,which is generally attributed to their species specific biotic *** is a notable interspecific divergence observed in venom peptide genes,which can be justified as of biotic interactions that stipulate species peculiar habitat and ecology of cone *** are several conopeptides used in clinical trials and one peptide(Ziconotide) has received FDA approval for treatment of *** perspective provides a comprehensive overview of the distribution of cone shells and focus on the molecular approach in documenting their taxonomy and diversity with special reference to geographic distribution of Indian cone snails,structure and properties of conopeptide and their pharmacological targets and future directions.

Comparative study of haematological,serum electrolyte and nonelectrolyte parameters of male and female Persian sturgeon(Acipenser persicus)brood stocks

Sturgeons are the most important principal market species in the Caspian Sea. In the present study, measurement of blood parameters was carried out with the aim of evaluating the normal value of hematological and serum biochemical parameters of brood stocks Acipenser persicus during spawning season. Blood samples were collected from 36 brood stocks of A. persicus（18 males and 18 females） during the spawning season. Higher value of red blood cells, white blood cells, haemoglobin, haematocrit was observed in male breeders with significant differences between female breeders（p〉0.05）. Haemoglobin and haematocrit value in this study was within the range of 8.70 to 9.2 g/d L and 29.73% to 30.26%, respectively. The statistically significant differences between mean corpuscular volumes, mean corpuscular haemoglobin, lymphocyte and neutrophil percentages, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase and creatine kinase were observed in the male and female brood *** is concluded from this study, some of the hematological and serum biochemical parameters of male and female A. persicus breeders were significantly varied from each other. In comparative investigation with earlier reports,the values of red blood cells, haemoglobin and haematocrit are highly varied due to age variations of ***, further studies are necessary to understand the impact of sexual, age, size, length, and season and habitat variation. Serum biochemical parameters can be used for confirming the maturity of A. persicus and monitoring any changes in the water quality parameters and soil.

Single crystals of L-alanine cadmium iodide(LACI)were grown by the slow evaporation technique at room temperature.A single-crystal X-ray diffraction(SXRD)model was used to evaluate the crystal structure of the as-grown LACI *** energy dispersive X-ray(EDX)analysis and ultraviolet-visible-near infrared(UV-vis-NIR)transmittance studies were carried out,and the results reveal the presence of elements in the title *** the transmittance data,the optical bandgap as a function of photon energy was estimated,and the different optical constants were calculated.A fluorescence study was performed for the LACI *** and differential thermal analyses have also been studied to investigate the thermal property of the LACI *** efficiency of the second harmonic generation(SHG)of the title crystal was *** magnetic and electrical properties were estimated by the vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM)analysis and impedance study,respectively.
