Erectile dysfunction （ED） is considered a condition with a broad range of etiologies. Obstructive sleep apnea （OSA） syndrome is one of the lesser studied risk factors for ED. We intend to summarize the current evidence on the relationship between OSA and sexual impairment, focusing on the results in terms of erectile function of the different therapies offered to OSA patients. A systematic review was conducted, selecting articles related to the physiology of OSA and ED, and to the treatments of OSA syndrome and their reported outcomes in erectile and sexual function. Higher prevalences of ED in the OSA groups have been published. However, whether this effect on the erectile function occurs in the entire range of OSA severities remains unclear. Several hypotheses were proposed to explain the physiology of this association. Continuous Positive Airway Pressure as a treatment for OSA patients with ED has achieved a significative improvement in the sexual parameters in most of the studies. Phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors （iPDE5） on demand are useful as a treatment for ED in this subgroup of patients, with high satisfaction rates. The surgical treatment for the OSA evidenced benefits over the erectile function, and the effect on the sexual satisfaction of the therapy using Mandibular Advancement Devices is still undefined.

Imprinting in plants

Genomic imprinting leads to the differential expression of parental alleles after fertilization. Imprinting appears to have evolved independently in mammals and flowering plants to regulate the development of nutrient-transfer placental tissues. In addition, the regulation of imprinting in both mammals and flowering plants involves changes in DNA methylation and histone methylation, thus suggesting that the epigenetic signals that regulate imprinting have been co-opted in these distantly related species.

Several different models for coercivity are discussed. There are two main situations: i) nanocrystalline magnets, with grain size bellow the single domain particle size, and ii) magnets with grain size above single domain particle size. The described theories and models are general, and can be applied in either NdFeB magnets, SmFeCoCuZr or strontium ferrite magnets. The spring effect observed in isotropic nanocrystalline magnets can be explained with the Stoner-Wohlfarth model. Modifications of the StonerWohlfarth model are necessary to take into account the effect of interaction between grains. When the grain size is above the single domain size, energy considerations show that nucleation should occur at the surface of grains. Nucleation is interpreted as a two-step process, where domain wall displacement occurs for grain size above single domain size, after a nucleus is first formed. The effect of grain size on the coercive field is discussed.

Melanoma incidence is growing *** recent advances in imaging,there is not still available a specific melanoma agent that can be used for melanoma *** may be defined as liposomes composed of one or more polar lipids extracted from the Archaea domain(Archaebacterium).As liposomes have been used as vehicles for drugs and isotopes,the aim of this work is to evaluate radiolabelled 99mTc-archaeosomes as a potential melanoma imaging *** evaluate its potential role as a melanoma imaging *** were prepared by handshaken method and were radiolabeled with 99mTc;radiolabelling efficiency and purity were evaluated through different chromatographic *** vitro stability of 99mTc-diethylene-triamine-pentaacetate(DTPA)-archaeosomes was performed through L-cysteine *** size distribution was determined by laser light scattering,having nanometer size between 90 and 120 *** efficiency was>90%;99mTc-DTPAarchaeosomes presented a radiochemical purity superior to 80%evaluated 24 h *** the highest concentration of L-cysteine(30 mM)and 1 h incubation,radiochemical purity was 92.90%,6.41%was bound to cysteine,and 0.69%remained as 99mTcO4-.Biodistribution and scintigraphic imaging studies in healthy C57 black mice showed high liver,spleen uptake,and renal *** bearing mice had similar biodistribution as healthy mice but increased melanoma uptake,with T/M ratio of 46±*** results show the feasibility of 99mTc radiolabelling archaeosomes and their potential role as a melanoma imaging agent.

Since indoor clothing insulation is a key element in thermal comfort models,the aim of the present study is proposing an approach for predicting it,which could assist the occupants of a building in terms of recommendations regarding their *** that,a systematic analysis of input variables is exposed,and 13 regression and 12 classification machine learning algorithms were developed and *** results are based on data from 3352 questionnaires and 21 input variables from a field study in mixed-mode office buildings in *** temperature at 6 a.m.,indoor air temperature,indoor relative humidity,comfort temperature and gender were the most relevant features for predicting clothing *** comparing machine learning algorithms,decision tree-based algorithms with Boosting techniques achieved the best *** proposed model provides an efficient method for forecasting the clothing insulation level and its application would entail optimising thermal comfort and energy efficiency.

Dear Editor,Short-term fasting(up to 48 hours)activates strong physiological and molecular responses[1].We and others showed a p53-independent transcriptional activation of the cell cycle inhibitor p21 upon fasting,most strongly in the liver,muscles,and many other tissues[2,3].Studies with mice[4,5]and human patients[6]have shown the beneficial effects of short-term fasting during anti-cancer chemotherapy treatments.

We present herein the implementation of pH-responsiveness into a new polycationic macrobicyclic structure,namely what we have termed the“red cage”.The hydrolytically-stable cryptand-like compound has been prepared in a relatively high yield in aqueous media by a kinetically-controlled hydrazone-exchange reaction,promoted by the unusual high stability of the new hydrazone CvN bonds *** organic media the macrobicycle was found not able to complex model aromatic *** buffered aqueous solutions,as a comparison,the“red cage”was found able to recognize them,but the binding was observed to be more efficient in acidic form of the cyclophane compared with its conjugate base.
