THE BLOCH SPACE ON THE UNIT BALL OF A HILBERT SPACE: MAXIMALITY AND MULTIPLIERS

We prove that, as in the finite dimensional case, the space of Bloch functions on the unit ball of a Hilbert space contains, under very mild conditions, any semi-Banach space of analytic functions invariant under automorphisms. The multipliers for such Bloch space are characterized and some of their spectral properties are described.

Accurate assessment of the hemodynamic status is vital for appropriate management of patients with critical *** such,there has been a constant quest for reliable and non-invasive bedside tools to assess and monitor circulatory status in order to ensure end-organ *** the recent past,point of care ultrasonography(POCUS)has emerged as a valuable adjunct to physical examination in various specialties,which basically is a clinician-performed bedside ultrasound to answer focused *** allows visualization of the internal anatomy and flow dynamics in real time,guiding apt *** both arterial(forward flow)and venous(organ outflow or afterload)limbs of hemodynamic circuit are important for tissue perfusion,the venous side remains relatively *** recent data underscoring the deleterious consequences of iatrogenic volume overload,objective evaluation of venous congestion is gaining *** Doppler ultrasound serves this purpose and aids in diagnosing and monitoring the congestion/venous blood flow *** this article,we summarize the rationale for integrating this technology into routine care of patients with volume-related disorders,discuss the normal and abnormal waveforms,limitations,and future directions.

The extant Cabrera’s vole,Microtus cabrerae,differs in morphology and evolutionary history from the other species of *** arvicoline has unique derived features in the cranium,mandible and ***bly its most conspicuous features are its large size,the high skull in lateral view,the long and distally broad nasals,and the triangle shape of the anteroconid complex,with a marked labio-lingual asymmetry of the occlusal surface of the first lower *** this study,we propose a phylogenetic lineage that includes Cabrera’s vole in what until now has been the Microtus subgenus *** information and several life history traits support the elevation of Iberomys to the rank of *** Iberomys comprises species that have appeared in succession during the Quaternary:in the Early Pleistocene,the extinct *** in the Middle Pleistocene,the extinct *** and in the Late Pleistocene,the extant ***,the extant species shows several biological singularities,such as multiple polymorphic copies of the SRY male-specific gene in both males and females,and the lowest basal metabolic rate in relation to weight among arvicoline ***,its habitat requirement is unique among the Iberian ***,the biological and paleontological data that we present in this work support the elevation of its taxonomic rank to that of ge*** study also suggests a modification of nomenclature:Microtus(Iberomys)brecciensis is replaced with *** and the common name of the extant M.(I.)cabrerae changed from‘topillo’to‘iberon’to improve conservation and protection actions.

Early Feeding vs 5-Day Fasting after Distal Elective Bowel Anastomoses in Children.A Randomized Controlled Trial

Purpose: Determine the safety and efficacy of early enteral feeding after distal elective bowel anastomoses (DEBA) in children. Methods: Controlled randomized trial including pediatric patients with DEBA, excluding non-elective and high risk patients. Variables: Demographics, operative time, anastomosis placement, beginning peristalsis and bowel movement, time to full diet intake, post-operative stay, persisting vomiting and abdominal distention, wound infection or dehiscence, anastomotic leak, reoperation, death. Randomization into: 1) Experimental group (EG): early feeding group, after a minimum 24 hours fasting period, oral fluids and diet was started;2) Control group (CG): obligatory 5-day fasting. Descriptive Statistics: Student’s t test for quantitative and Chi square for qualitative variables, a p-value 0.05 was considered significant. Results: 60 patients were included since June 2003 to May 2004, 30 ineach group. Mean age 2 years, weight16 kg, malnutrition 33%. Stomal Ethiology: Anorectal-malformation 46%, Hirschsprung 13%, inflammatory 35%, tumoral 5%. Mostly in colon 71%. Mean surgical time 142 min. None developed vomiting or required nasogastric-tube. Mild abdominal distension 13%, mild fever 16.5% and wound complications 18%. Anastomosis leakage 6.5%, none required reoperations. Demographic variables showed no statistical differences. Full oral intake was in the 2nd postoperative day in the EG vs CG (p = 0.001). Postoperative hospital stay was 6.0 ± 3 in the EG vs 9.8 ± 4 days in the CG with clinical but not statistical significance. Peristalsis beginning, first flatus passage and bowel movements showed no statistical differences. The complication incidence was low and equally distributed. Conclusions: Early feeding after DEBA is safe and well tolerated in children.
