Main environmental variables influencing the abundance of plant species under risk category

Determining climatic and physiographic variables in Mexico’s major ecoregions that are limiting to biodiversity and species of high conservation concern is essential for their ***,at the national level to date,few studies have been performed with large data sets and crossconfirmation using multiple statistical ***,we used 25 endemic,rare and endangered species from 3610 sampling points throughout Mexico and 25 environmental attributes,including average precipitation for different seasons of the year,annual dryness index,slope of the terrain;and maximum,minimum and average temperatures to test our hypothesis that these species could be assessed with the same weight among all variables,showing similar indices of *** results using principal component analysis,covariation analysis by permutations,and random forest regression showed that summer precipitation,length of the frost-free period,spring precipitation,winter precipitation and growing season precipitation all strongly influence the abundance of tropical *** contrast,annual precipitation and the balance at different seasons(summer and growing season)were the most relevant variables on the temperate region *** dry areas,the minimum temperature of the coldest month and the maximum temperature of the warmest month were the most significant *** these different associations in different climatic regions could support a more precise management and conservation plan for the preservation of plant species diversity in forests under different global warming scenarios.

Objective To study the association between early growth of haematoma with biomarkers of endothelial dysfunction such as leukoaraiosis(LA)and the soluble tumour necrosis factor-like weak inducer of apoptosis(sTWEAK)in patients with intracerebral haemorrhage(ICH).Methods This is a retrospective observational study of patients with nontraumatic *** and biochemical parameters were *** levels were measured by *** was analysed in the hemisphere without haemorrhage to avoid interference with the acute *** main endpoint was the haematoma growth evaluated by the difference in volume between the second and the initial *** functional outcome,defined as a modified Rankin scale>2 at 3 months,was considered as secondary *** operating characteristic curve analysis was performed to stablish the best cut-off for sTWEAK levels associated with haematoma *** We included 653 patients with ICH in our analysis(71.1±11.9 years,44%women).Haematoma growth was observed in 188 patients(28.8%).sTWEAK levels≥5600 pg/mL predicted ICH growth with a sensitivity of 84%and a specificity of 87%.sTWEAK levels≥5600 pg/mL and the presence of LA were associated with haematoma growth(OR:42.46;(CI 95%22.67 to 79.52)and OR:2.73(CI 95%1.39 to 5.34),respectively).Also,the presence of LA(OR:4.31(CI 95%2.89 to 6.42))and the interaction between ICH growth and sTWEAK(OR:2.23(CI 95%1.40 to 3.55))were associated with poor functional outcome at 3 *** sTWEAKs,together with the presence and grade of LA,are biomarkers able to predict ICH growth and poor functional outcome in patients with ICH.

We apply a proper orthogonal decomposition(POD)to data stemming from numerical simulations of a fingering instability in a multiphase flow passing through obstacles in a porous medium,to study water injection processes in the production of hydrocarbon *** show that the time evolution of a properly defined flow correlation length can be used to identify the onset of the fingering *** of characteristic lengths for each of the modes resulting from the POD provides further information on the dynamics of the ***,using numerical simulations with different viscosity ratios,we show that the convergence of the POD depends non-trivially on whether the fingering instability develops or *** result has implications on proposed methods to decrease the dimensionality of the problem by deriving reduced dynamical systems after truncating the system’s governing equations to a few POD modes.

Background Biliary sphincter disorders after liver transplantation(LT)are poorly *** aim to describe the presence and outcome of patients with papillary stenosis(Ps)and functional biliary sphincter disorders(FBsDs)after LT according to the updated Rome IV *** We reviewed all endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatographies(ERCPs)performed in LT recipients between January 2003 and December *** on clinical and endoscopic findings was obtained from electronic health records and endoscopy *** and clinical findings were collected at the time of ERCP and 1 month after *** Among the 1,307 LT recipients,336 underwent 849 ***(1.0%)patients met the updated Rome IV criteria for Ps[former sphincter of Oddi dysfunction(sOD)type I]and 14 patients(1.0%)met the Rome IV criteria for FBsD(former sOD type II).Biliary sphincterotomy was performed in 13 Ps and 10 FBsD *** month after sphincterotomy,bilirubin,gamma-glutamyl transferase and alkaline phosphatase levels decreased in 85%,61%,and 92%of those in the Ps group(P¼0.019,0.087,and 0.003,respectively)and in 50%,70%,and 80%of those in the FBsD group(P¼0.721,0.013,and 0.093,respectively).All the 14 patients initially suspected of having a FBsD turned out to have a different diagnosis during the *** Ps after LT is uncommon and occurs in only 1%of LT *** data do not support the presence of an FBsD after *** is a safe and effective procedure in LT recipients with Ps.
