The benefits of regular physical activity are well ***,few studies have examined the effectiveness of integrating physical activity(pa)into curricula within a post-secondary *** investigate the incorporation of pa into medical curriculum,we developed a series of optional exercise-based review sessions designed to reinforce musculoskeletal(mSK)anatomy course *** synchronous sessions were co-taught by a group fitness instructor and an anatomy *** fitness instructor would lead students through both strength and yoga style exercises,while the anatomy instructor asked questions about relevant anatomical structures related to course material previously *** the sessions,participants were asked to evaluate the classes on their self-reported exam preparedness in improving mSK anatomy knowledge,pa.levels,and mental *** participants completed surveys;a majority agreed that the classes increased understanding of mSK concepts(90.0%)and activity levels(97.7%).many(70.0%)felt that the classes helped reduce *** majority of respondents(90.0%)agreed that the classes contributed to increased feelings of social ***,medical students saw benefit in pa based interventions to supplement mSK course *** with increasing activity levels and promoting health behaviours,integrating pa into medical curriculum may improve comprehension of learning material,alleviate stress and foster social connectivity among medical students.

Spinal cord injury remains a major cause of disability in young adults,and beyond acute decompression and rehabilitation,there are no pharmacological treatments to limit the progression of injury and optimize recovery in this *** the thorough investigation of the complement system in triggering and propagating cerebral neuroinflammation,a similar role for complement in spinal neuroinflammation is a focus of ongoing *** this work,we survey the current literature investigating the role of complement in spinal cord injury including the sources of complement proteins,triggers of complement activation,and role of effector functions in the *** study relevant data demonstrating the different triggers of complement activation after spinal cord injury including direct binding to cellular debris,and or activation via antibody binding to damage-associated molecular *** effector functions of complement have been implicated in spinal cord injury,and we critically evaluate recent studies on the dual role of complement anaphylatoxins in spinal cord injury while emphasizing the lack of pathophysiological understanding of the role of opsonins in spinal cord *** this pathophysiological review,we systematically review the different translational approaches used in preclinical models of spinal cord injury and discuss the challenges for future translation into human *** review emphasizes the need for future studies to dissect the roles of different complement pathways in the pathology of spinal cord injury,to evaluate the phases of involvement of opsonins and anaphylatoxins,and to study the role of complement in white matter degeneration and regeneration using translational strategies to supplement genetic models.

Background： lycopene（lYC） is a natural carotenoid with powerful reactive oxygen species（ROS） scavenging activities. The aim of this study was to investigate if lycopene has the ability to reverse ROS-mediated alterations to the motility, viability and intracellular antioxidant profile of bovine spermatozoa subjected to ferrous ascorbate（Fe AA）. Spermatozoa were washed out of fresh bovine semen, suspended in 2.9 % sodium citrate and subjected to lYC treatment（0.25, 0.5, 1 or 2 mmol/l） in the presence or absence of Fe AA（150 μmol/l Fe SO4 and 750 μmol/l ascorbic acid） during a 6 h in vitro culture. Spermatozoa motion characteristics were assessed using the Sperm Vision？computer-aided sperm analysis（CASA） system. Cell viability was examined with the metabolic activity（mTT） assay,ROS generation was quantified via luminometry and the nitroblue-tetrazolium（NBT） test was applied to quantify the intracellular superoxide formation. Cell lysates were prepared at the end of the in vitro culture to investigate the intracellular activity of superoxide dismutase（SOD）, catalase（CAT）, glutathione peroxidase（GPx） as well as the concentrations of glutathione（GSH） and malondialdehyde（mDA）.Results： FeA A treatment led to a reduced spermatozoa motility（P 〈 0.001）, viability（P 〈 0.001） and a decline of the antioxidant capacity of spermatozoa（P 〈 0.001） but increased the ROS generation（P 〈 0.001）, superoxide production（P 〈 0.001） and lipid peroxidation（P 〈 0.001）. lYC administration resulted in a preservation of the spermatozoa motion parameters（P 〈 0.001）, mitochondrial activity（P 〈 0.001） and antioxidant characteristics（P 〈 0.001 with respect to SOD;P 〈 0.01 in relation to CAT; P 〈 0.05 as for GPx and GSH） with a concentration range of 1 and 2 mmol/l lYC revealed to be the most ***： Our results suggest that lYC exhibits significant ROS-scavenging and antioxidant properties which may prevent spermatozoa alterations caused by oxidative stress, and preserve the functional

We present a study of the dynamic behavior of a two-sublattice spin-5/2 Ising model with bilinear and crystal-field interactions in the presence of a time-dependent oscillating external magnetic field on alternating layers of a hexagonal lattice by using the Glauber-type stochastic *** lattice is formed by alternate layers of spins σ=5/2 and S=5/*** employ the Glauber transition rates to construct the mean-field dynamic ***,we investigate the time variations of the average sublattice magnetizations to find the phases in the system and then the thermal behavior of the dynamic sublattice magnetizations to characterize the nature（first-or second-order） of the phase transitions and to obtain the dynamic phase transition（DPT） *** also study the thermal behavior of the dynamic total magnetization to find the dynamic compensation temperature and to determine the type of the dynamic compensation *** present the dynamic phase diagrams,including the dynamic compensation temperatures,in nine different *** phase diagrams contain seven different fundamental phases,thirteen different mixed phases,in which the binary and ternary combination of fundamental phases and the compensation temperature or the l-type behavior strongly depend on the interaction parameters.

Numerical simulation of turbulent mixing process of polydisperse quartz particle(particle size distribution in the range of 0.1-0.4 mm)flow with Ar and Ar-H2 plasma generated by radio frequency inductively coupled plasma(RF-ICP)torch has been *** approximate two-stage approach has been proposed to calculate the spatial-temporal distributions of temperature and resulting thermal stress in quartz particles during dynamic heating in polydisperse plasma *** influence of working gas compositions,particle size distributions,injection angle and flow rate of carrier gas on the thermal destruction conditions of quartz particles has been determined under different particle feed *** is found that all the solid quartz particles(0.1-0.4 mm)could be thermal destructed without overheating in RF-ICP torch system,when the hydrogen volume fraction in working gases is more than 1.5%-2%and particle feed rate is in a certain *** values of the maximum and minimum feed rates have been determined under different hydrogen volume *** optimal particle injection angle and flow rate of carrier gas is found around 50°-60°and 160-220 slpm,under which the value of maximum equivalent thermal stress in quartz particles is highest.

A time derivative preconditioning is introduced that allows a unified treatment of timemarching methods for both compressible and incompressible flows from inviscid to creeping flow. Results show that convergence rates are independent of Reynolds numbers and mach numbers throughout this regime. A Complete formulation'based on an arbitrary equation of state facilitates the changes from one type of fluid to another and, in particular, the extension to incompressible flows. The resulting time-marching algorithm is shown in the incompressible limit to be identical to iterative methods based on pressure-Poisson methods, and it is demonstrated that both method are hyperbolic.
