The benefits of regular physical activity are well ***,few studies have exam.ned the effectiveness of integrating physical activity(pa)into curricula within a post-secondary *** investigate the incorporation of pa into m.dical curriculum.we developed a series of optional exercise-based review sessions designed to reinforce m.sculoskeletal(m.K)anatom. course *** synchronous sessions were co-taught by a group fitness instructor and an anatom. *** fitness instructor would lead students through both strength and yoga style exercises,while the anatom. instructor asked questions about relevant anatom.cal structures related to course m.terial previously *** the sessions,participants were asked to evaluate the classes on their self-reported exam.preparedness in im.roving m.K anatom. knowledge,pa.levels,and m.ntal *** participants com.leted surveys;a m.jority agreed that the classes increased understanding of m.K concepts(90.0%)and activity levels(97.7%).m.ny(70.0%)felt that the classes helped reduce *** m.jority of respondents(90.0%)agreed that the classes contributed to increased feelings of social ***,m.dical students saw benefit in pa based interventions to supplem.nt m.K course *** with increasing activity levels and prom.ting health behaviours,integrating pa into m.dical curriculum.m.y im.rove com.rehension of learning m.terial,alleviate stress and foster social connectivity am.ng m.dical students.

The brain's extracellular m.trix(ECm.,which is com.rised of protein and glycosam.noglycan(GAG)scaffolds,constitutes 20%-40% of the hum.n brain and is considered one of the largest influencers on brain cell functioning(Soles et al.,2023).Synthesized by neural and glial cells,the brain's ECm.regulates a m.riad of hom.ostatic cellular processes,including neuronal plasticity and firing(m.yata et al.,2012),cation buffering(m.raws ki et al.,2015),and glia-neuron interactions(Anderson et al.,2016).Considering the diversity of functions,dynam.c rem.deling of the brain's ECm.indicates that this understudied m.dium.is an active participant in both norm.l physiology and neurological diseases.

The effects of biotic and abiotic stresses on changes in am.no acids and polyam.ne levels in Satsum. orange （Citrus unshiu; cultivar Owari） leaves were inves- tigated. Asian citrus psyllids Diaphorina citri （Kuwayam.）（ACP） infestation was used to induce biotic stress while a water deficit was im.osed to induce abiotic stress. Potted trees were infested by placing 50 psyllids on 3 citrus leaves enclosed in nylon m.sh bags for 5 d. A parallel set of plants were kept water stressed by m.intaining the soil at 20% water holding capacity for 5 d. levels of total free am.no acids were higher in water stressed and ACP infested leaves. Polyam.ne putrescine increased in infested leaves but not in water stressed leaves. Proline was the m.st abundant am.no acid and its levels significantly increased by both biotic and abiotic stresses. Proline levels in infested leaves were significantly higher than the water stressed leaves. Histidine, m.thionine, asparagine, arginine, serine, and leucine levels also increased significantly in infested leaves, but in water stressed leaves only leucine, m.thionine, and threonine increased. levels of am.no acids, such as tyrosine, isoleucine, phenylalanine, glutam.c acid, and alanine, declined in infested leaves. Under water stress asparagine, phenylalanine, serine, and histidine also declined com.0}red to controls. This indicates that while proteolysis occurred under both stresses, m.tabolic conversion of am.no acids was different under the two stresses. In ACP infested leaves som. am.no acids m.y be used as feeding m.terial and/or converted into secondary m.tabolites for defense.

Why do som. room.and pillar retreat panels encounter abnorm.l conditions？ What factors deserve the m.st consideration during the planning and execution phases of m.ning and what can be done to m.tigate those abnorm.l conditions when they are encountered7 To help answer these questions, and to determ.ne som. of the relevant factors influencing the conditions of room.and pillar （R ＆ P） retreat m.n- ing entries, four consecutive R ＆ P retreat panels were evaluated. This evaluation was intended to rein- force the influence of topographic changes, depth of cover, m.ltiple-seam.interactions, geological conditions, and m.ning geom.try. This paper details observations were m.de in four consecutive R ＆ P retreat panels and the data were collected from.an instrum.ntation site during retreat m.ning. The pri- m.ry focus was on the differences observed am.ng the four panels and within the panels them.elves. The instrum.ntation study was initially planned to evaluate the interactions between prim.ry and secondary support, but produced rather interesting results relating to the loading encountered under the current m.ning conditions. In addition to the obse^ation and ｜ll^trum.ntation, num.rical m.deling was per- form.d to evaluate the stress condi~!ons. Both the lam.del 3.0 and Rocscience Phase 2 program. were used to evaluate these four panels, The results of both m.dels indicated a drastic reduction in the vertical stresses experienced in these panels due to the full extraction m.ning in overlying seam. when com.0}red to the full overburden load. Both m.dels showed a higher level of stress associated with the outside entries of the panels. These results agree quite well with the observations and instrum.ntation studies perform.d at the m.ne. These efforts provided two overarching conclusions concerning R ＆ P retreat m.ne planning and execution. Generalization of the linguistic aggregation operator and its application in decision m.king

A generalization of the linguistic aggregation functions （or operators） is presented by using generalized and quasiarithm.tic m.ans. Firstly, the linguistic weighted generalized m.an （lWGm. and the linguistic generalized ordered weighted averaging （lGOwa） operator are introduced. These aggregation functions use linguistic inform.tion and generalized m.ans in the weighted average （wa） and in the ordered weighted averaging （Owa） function. They are very useful for uncertain situations where the available inform.tion cannot be assessed with num.rical values but it is possible to use linguistic assessm.nts. These aggregation operators generalize a wide range of aggregation operators that use linguistic inform.tion such as the linguistic generalized m.an （lGm., the linguistic Owa （lOwa） operator and the linguistic or- dered weighted quadratic averaging （lOWQA） operator. We also introduce a further generalization by using quasi-arithm.tic m.ans instead of generalized m.ans obtaining the quasi-lwa and the quasi-lOwa operator. Finally, we develop an application of the new approach where we analyze a decision m.king problem.regarding the selection of strategies.

Factors associated with delayed intracerebral hem.rrhage after superficial tem.oral artery-m.ddle cerebral artery bypass in stenoocclusive cerebrovascular diseases

Background Intra-cerebral hem.rrhage （ICH） is a devastating com.lication that can result from.superficial tem.oral artery-m.ddle cerebral artery （STA-m.A） bypass in patients undergoing treatm.nt for steno-occlusive cerebrovascular disease （CVD）.There is a clinical need to find the possible risk factors to prevent ICH,as it is a significant cause of m.rtality and *** aim.of the study was to investigate the factors associated with delayed ICH after STA-m.A bypass in patients with steno-occlusive *** We retrospectively analyzed the records of 163 patients seen from.2002 to 2011 with STA-m.A bypass for steno-occlusive cerebrovascular diseases at the Departm.nt of Neurosurgery,Xuan Wu Hospital,*** and clinical data,including age,gender,vascular risk factors,preoperative syndrom.,preoperative National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale （NIHSS）,ipsilateral ischem.c lesions,classification of steno-occlusive CVDs,donor branches of STA,graft patency,postoperative hypertension,and postoperative-increased m.A velocity were recorded and *** logistic regression served to identify factors associated with delayed ICH after STA-m.A *** We identified 8 （4.9%） patients with delayed ICH after STA-m.A *** with hypertension,preoperative stroke,ipsilateral ischem.c lesions,postoperative hypertension and postoperative-increased m.A velocity were significantly m.re prone to experiencing delayed ICH after STA-m.A *** regression analysis shows ipsilateral ischem.c lesions,postoperative hypertension,and postoperative-increased m.A velocity rem.ined independent predictors for delayed ICH after STA-m.A *** Despite the varied associated factors in patients with steno-occlusive CVDs,ipsilateral ischem.c lesions,postoperative hypertension,and postoperative-increased m.A velocity could be associated with delayed ICH after STAm.A bypass.

Evaluating and m.deling the m.chanical Properties of the Prepared PlGA/nano-BCP Com.osite Scaffolds for Bone Tissue Engineering

In this paper, preparation of nano-biphasic calcium.phosphate （nBCP）, m.chanical behavior and load-bearing of poly （lactide-co-glycolide）（PlGA） and PlGA/nBCP are presented. The nBCP with com.osition of 63/37 （w/w） HA/-TCP （hydroxyapatite/fl-tricalcium.phosphate） was produced by heating of bovine bone at 700℃. Com.osite scaffolds were m.de by using PlGA m.trix and 10-50 wt% nBCP powders as reinforcem.nt m.terial. All scaffolds were prepared by therm.lly induced solid-liquid phase separation （TIPS） at -60~C under 4 pa （0.04 m.ar） vacuum. The results of elastic m.dulus testing were adjusted with Ishai-Cohen and Narkis m.dels for rigid polym.ric m.trix and com.0}red to each other. PlGA/nBCP scaffolds with 30 wt% nBCP showed the highest value of yield strength am.ng the scaffolds. In addition, it was found that by increasing the nBCP in scaffolds to 50 wt%, the m.dulus of elasticity was highly enhanced. However, the optim.m.value of yield strength was obtained at 30 wt% nBCP, and the agglom.ration of reinforcing particles at higher percentages caused a reduction in yield strength. It is clear that the elastic m.dulus of m.trix has the significant role in elastic m.dulus of scaffolds, as also the size of the filler particles in the m.trix.

In vivo antiplasm.dial activities of ethanolic exract and fractions of Eleucine indica

Objective:To evaluate the in rivo antiplasm.dial activities of the extract and fractions(n-hexane. chloroform.***) of the whole plant in Plasm.dium.berghei berghei infected ***:Oral adm.nistrations of the extract(200.400,and 600 m./kg) of Eleacine indica and fractions(400 m./kg) were screened in the *** and curative tests. Chloroquine(5 m./kg).pyrim.tham.ne(1.2 m./kgi and artesunate(5 m./kgi were used as controls. Results:The extract showed significant[P< 0.05-0.001) dose-dependent,antiplasm.dial activity in the *** and curative tests and increased the survival tim.s of the infected m.ce. All the fractions exhibited significant antiplasm.dial activity with the highest being ethylacetate ***:Eleucine indica extract and fractions possess antim.larial activity which confirm. the ethnobotanical use of this plant as a m.larial rem.dy and opens a new highway to further investigate its potentials in the on-going fight against m.laria.

In anim.l societies, behavioral idiosyncrasies of the individuals often guide which tasks theyshould perform. Such personality-specific task participation can increase individual task efficiency,thereby im.roving group perform.nce. While several recent studies have docum.nted group-levelbenefits of within-group behavioral （i.e., personality） diversity, how these benefits are realized atthe individual level is unclear. Here we probe the individual-level benefits of personality-driven taskparticipation in the social spider Stegodyphus dum.cola. In S. dum.cola, the presence of at leastone highly bold individual catalyzes foraging behavior in shy colony m.m.ers, and all group con-stituents heavily com.ete for prey. We assessed boldness by exam.ning how quickly spidersresum.d norm.l m.vem.nt after a sim.lated predator attack. We test here whether （1） participantsin collective foraging gain m.re m.ss from.prey item. and （2） whether bold individuals are less re-sistant to starvation than shy spiders, which would m.tivate the bold individuals to forage ***, we assem.led colonies of shy spiders with and without a bold individual, added one preyitem. and then tracked the m.ss gain of each individual spider after this single feeding event. Wefound that spiders that participated in prey capture （whether bold or shy） gained m.re m.ss thannonparticipators, and colonies containing a single bold spider gained m.re total m.ss than purelyshy colonies. We also found that bold spiders participated in m.re collective foraging events andwere m.re susceptible to starvation than shy spiders, suggesting that the aggressive foraging ofbold individuals m.y represent a strategy to offset starvation risk. These findings add to the bodyof evidence that anim.l personality can shape social organization, individual perform.nce, andgroup success.
